Iraq War About Containing Terror Not Building Democracy

The Democratic Leadership publicly demanded that the Bush Administration alert Iraqi leadership of America’s intent to pull out of the war torn Islamic nation within the next six months, sending a clear signal to jihadists that America would rather appease than fight. Leftist Democratic Chairman-elect of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Carl Levin from Michigan, told the committee Wednesday, “We cannot save the Iraqis from themselves. The only way for Iraqi leaders to squarely face that reality is for President Bush to tell them that the United States will begin a phased redeployment of our forces within four to six months."

Meantime, the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency announced it could no longer say that Iran’s nuclear program was developing for peaceful purposes. Indeed, Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that his country will fight to the end to have its nuclear program. Ahmadinejad also reached out to Iraqi leadership in September offering Iraq support in establishing its security and its government. Ahmadinejad believes it is now time for Iran to begin to rule the world with the peace and justice of Islam. Ahmadinejad also said this week that the time for Israel’s destruction is near.

That’s precisely why the Democratic leadership’s myopic concept of the Iraq war and the need for the United States to begin withdrawing troops is a dangerous and risky strategy for the future of the Middle East region, the security of Israel and, ultimately, the national defense of the United States. The war in Iraq is not about helping the people of Iraq establish a democracy, although that is the publicly stated intention. The war in Iraq is about putting a fence around the Islamic world war against the West and Israel. Pulling out of Iraq will accomplish three things: 1) bring the war on terror to within the borders of America; 2) collapse Iraq into anarchy, and 3) help establish Iran as a Middle East superpower.

The Democratic leadership is intent on its belief that if America pulls out of Iraq, the jihadist movement will end. It will only be the beginning of yet another phase of terrorism unimpeded from Tehran to the shores of the United States. Ahmadinejad is not just a funny little man with a loud voice. He is a serious, satanic death cult leader intent on destroying all who do not claim allah as their god. The Iranian ayatollahs have spent nearly 30 years training Iranian youth to hate Israel and America so much that they would give their lives to end ours. The Iraq war is about localizing the war on terror to Iraq, not expanding it to America. Jesus said in Matthew 24:4, “Take heed that no man deceive you.”

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
