The Daily Brief - Wednesday, October 14, 2009

"When your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness." (Isaiah 26:9)

The Daily Brief

1. Senate Liberals May Push 'Reconciliation' to Achieve Government-Run Healthcare - NewsMax

Democrats on Tuesday made big strides toward conducting drastic surgery on millions of Americans' healthcare plans. Maine GOP Sen. Olympia Snowe announced she would support the Senate Finance Committee's version of the bill, which later made it out of committee by a 14-9 vote.

- Father, overtake and break every so called "big stride" made in favor of the "drastic surgery" of America's healthcare plans. Protect the American people from being robbed of solid healthcare insurance coverage. Uncover all the deception that national government-run healthcare would bring upon our citizens. Put up Your hand of resistance by opposing all the insidiousness of this endeavor. Lord, we lift up our voice against this destructive plan. Hear us God. Have mercy upon our nation. Remove our enemies from power and stand with us as we plead Your perfect will over our healthcare. In Jesus Name.

- "Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with God, which frame mischief by a law? They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood. BUT THE LORD is my defense; and my God is the rock of my refuge. And He shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the Lord our God shall cut them off." (Psalm 94:20-23)

2. Obama criticizes concept of 'traditional family,' commits to repeal DOMA -CNA

This past Saturday evening, Barack Obama became the first U.S. President to make an appearance at the Human Rights Campaign, the largest pro- gay "marriage" organization in the country. President Obama delivered an impassioned speech in which he criticized the concept of the traditional family and announced that his administration will work to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA.)

Speaking at the black-tie event, President Obama assessed the progress made by the gay agenda, saying, "despite the real gains that we've made, there's still laws to change and there's still hearts to open." "There are still fellow citizens, perhaps neighbors, even loved ones, good and decent people, who hold fast to outworn arguments and old attitudes; who fail to see your families like their families; who would deny you the rights most Americans take for granted. And that's painful and it's heartbreaking," he lamented.

- What is heartbreaking is the fact that our nation, founded on Judeo-Christian values and principles, has now fallen so far away from the truth. Last fall, the LORD gave us a king after our own choosing - not His. As we now live with the consequences of that decision, pray that a mighty move of REPENTANCE will sweep across our nation, gripping the hearts of our citizens, and that a great cry of MERCY will come forth. There is yet hope for our future.

- "Even now," declares the LORD, "return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning." Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity. (Joel 2:13,14)

3. White House Escalates War of Words With Fox News - Fox news

Anita Dunn, White House communications director, calls Fox News a "wing of the Republican Party," after the White House began using its government blog to criticize "Fox lies."

- This report indicates a dangerous trend in the new administration. . one that smacks of totalitarian rule. Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro took over the press immediately upon coming to power. Communist dictators do not allow opposing views. Pray that Obama's advisors will yield their stance, allowing the objective dialogue in news reporting that is a hallmark of any true democracy. The truth always wins out . . . no matter what.

- "You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free." (John 8:32)

4. Obama Quietly Authorizes 13,000 More U.S. Troops for Afghanistan - Washington Post

In an unannounced move, President Obama is dispatching an additional 13,000 U.S. troops to Afghanistan beyond the 21,000 he announced in March, according to a published report.

The additional troops are primarily support forces -- such as engineers, medical personnel, intelligence experts and military police -- The Washington Post reported, bringing the total increase Obama has approved for the war-torn nation to 34,000. "Obama authorized the whole thing. The only thing you saw announced in a press release was the 21,000," an unnamed defense official familiar with the process told the paper.

- Offer praise for these "backup" troops that will be deployed to Afghanistan, but ask our Lord to give Obama no rest until he makes a definitive decision about our policy in that country. Our troops are in danger; pray for their safety.

- Simply let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No'; anything beyond this comes from the evil one. (Matt. 5:37)

5. USS New York Makes Maiden Voyage From New Orleans to New York City - Fox News

A Navy assault ship built with tons of steel salvaged from the World Trade Center towers began its journey to New York on Tuesday, sailing down the Mississippi River in a pea-soup fog as watchers along the levee strained for a glimpse.

The USS New York, named to commemorate the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, left the Northrop Grumman shipyard where it was built for the trip to its namesake city. The $1 billion ship will be formally commissioned in New York in early November.

- Happiness is praying over GOOD NEWS (for a change!). Rejoice that this wonderful ship has been built, and at the awesome tribute this is for those who have lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001. LET US NEVER FORGET THE PRICE THEY PAID IN THE WAR ON TERROR.

- "Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor." (Romans 13:7)

6. Christian Convert Teen Must Go Back Home, Judge Rules - Fox News

A 17-year old girl who fled from her home, fearing her Muslim parents would kill her for converting to Christianity, must go back to Ohio, a Florida judge ruled Tuesday.

[There is a real concern that Rifqa's parents may return next to Sri Lanka, where her life will be in danger due to Shari'a Law, that requires "mercy killings." Please pray for Rifqa Bary.)

- Oh my Father, bring down the rulers who unite with abusive and destructive rules that would send an innocent young girl to face an unknown future. God move heaven and earth for this girl. Stand guard over her. Send angels to surround her wherever she goes. Enforce Your sustaining power over her. Bind the hands in chains that would raise them against her. Resist her enemies by Your mighty presence, that all her enemies bow down at Your feet in submission and repentance to our Almighty God. Sever and tear away the grip of her enemies. May their hands fall down to their sides and be useless. May the glory of our God be all around her. May a holy fear engulf all those who would bring harm to her and soften and change their hearts. Hold her in Your arms of holy protection. In Jesus Name.

- "For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised: He is to be feared above all rulers." (Psalm 96:4)

7. New York-Based Muslim's Web Site Calls for God to 'Kill the Jews' - Fox News

A New York bicycle cabbie who last year used his Web site to mock the beheading of journalist Daniel Pearl posted a prayer calling for the murder of Jews and exhorting Muslims to "throw liquid drain cleaner in their faces." And there's nothing authorities can do about it.

- Father, forgive this man for he knows not what he is doing. Take the blindness from his eyes and the hardness from his heart by the blood of Jesus. Appear before him in dreams that he literally quakes with the magnitude of Your presence. We claim his soul for God. May he be delivered and set free from evil forces that he cannot even comprehend. We declare that he belongs to Jesus and no evil shall prolong its power over this man. Call him out from the crowd of evildoers and save his soul to become a righteous man of God, who will soon be used in Your kingdom purposes. Touch him today, Lord. Touch his spirit today. In Jesus Name and by the power of Your blood we call him out.

- "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

8. Beijing, Moscow Sign Trade Pacts - Wall Street Journal

China and Russia, in a bid to repair ties strained by a trade spat this summer, signed contracts valued at several billion dollars but didn't reach a breakthrough in protracted negotiations on a deal to supply Russian gas to China.

- Father, we ask that these two major world powers come under the absolute control of the designs that You God in all Your wisdom and understanding have written in Your Word concerning them. Their contracts are in Your hands, Lord, and we ask that no contract that was signed result in actions that would deviously cause world chaos. Stretch out Your hand Lord over all the gas in Russia. Delegate it to whom You will. Guide all the affairs of Russia and China to fulfill Your ultimate purpose. In Jesus Name.

- "According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompense to his enemies." (Isaiah 59:18)

9. Russia resists U.S. on Iran sanctions - USA Today

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Tuesday that the threat of sanctions against Iran would be counterproductive, resisting U.S. efforts to win agreement for measures if Iran fails to prove its nuclear program is peaceful.

- Father, how can Russia place sanctions against Iran when they are on the same team, playing their hands toward the same goals? We pray against any deception that would give the United States or any other nation the belief that Iran is seeking peace regarding their nuclear program. Lord, reveal the heart of Iran's nuclear intent for all the world to see. And Father, we ask that You hold back Iran's destructive moves and thwart their current deadly nuclear program by maintaining a continual resistance against them. In Jesus Name.

- "For I am the Lord: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, says the Lord God." (Ezekiel 12:25)

The Middle East in Focus

This week, for all the headlines cited below, please join us in proclaiming THIS DECREE:

"For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem." (Zech. 14:2a)

1. Israeli air strike on Gaza tunnels wounds 3 - Ynet News

Israeli warplanes attacked two smuggling tunnels along the Gaza Strip border with Egypt on Wednesday, wounding three tunnellers, Palestinian medical sources and the Israeli army said.

- Father, when the armaments of the enemy invade a land and bring destruction and death to its people, there must be a strong offensive to protect itself from annihilation. Reserve Israel its right to protect itself, Lord, and stand with them against their enemies. In Jesus Name.

- And God said, "Thus will I magnify Myself, and sanctify Myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I Am the Lord God Jehovah." (Ezekiel 38:23)

2. PA seeks UN censure of Israel over Temple Mount, Gaza - Ha'aretz

The UN Human Rights Council's deliberations over the Goldstone report on last winter's Gaza offensive will also deal with Jerusalem, the Temple Mount riots and the siege of Gaza, according to a resolution the Palestinian Authority and a group of countries intend to submit.

Note: See the alert from ICEJ on this report, below, on today's Brief.

3. U.S. to Egypt: Fatah-Hamas deal undermines Israel-PA talks - Ha'aretz

The United States sent a message to Egypt stating it does not support the proposed reconciliation agreement between Fatah and Hamas as it would undermine negotiations with Israel, Haaretz has learned.

4. Preparing for Service in the Rebuilt Temple - Arutz Sheva

Jews in the town of Mitzpe Yericho are taking practical steps to prepare for the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem, by preparing descendents of Cohanim (priests) and Levites for service. At the Mitzpe Yericho school, Temple priest hopefuls learn exactly how to conduct the daily Temple service and offer the required sacrifices.

URGENT UPDATE: Goldstone Report

(We reported on Monday that the U.N. Human Rights Commission had temporarily "shelved" action on the Goldstone Report. Well . . . "temporarily" is now over. Debate over the Goldstone report at a special session of the UN Human Rights Council is now slated to begin on Thursday, with a vote expected on Friday.

Please find below a Special Alert from ICEJ -- the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem -- with a call to take action now on behalf of Israel, as the UNHCR prepares to take up this matter this week. Thank you.)

Dear Friends,

This is an urgent call to action!

The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem is urging Christian supporters of Israel worldwide to immediately contact their respective national governments this week and voice their opposition to the UN Human Rights Council's consideration of the Goldstone report.

Debate over the Goldstone report at a special session of the UN Human Rights Council is now slated to begin on Thursday, with a vote expected on Friday. Time is of the essence in expressing our views and impacting the potential votes of the 47 member nations on the UNHRC.

The Goldstone report unjustly accuses Israel of committing war crimes and possibly crimes against humanity during the conflict against the Hamas terror militia in Gaza last January. Israeli leaders have rightly rejected this report as biased against the Jewish state and tainted by Palestinian distortions and misinformation.

The Palestinian Authority, supposedly Israel's peace partner, is seeking to secure the UNHRC's endorsement of the Goldstone report and its eventual referral to the International Criminal Court in The Hague, in hopes that senior Israeli military and political officials will be prosecuted for war crimes in that forum.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned in response that further UN action on the slanted Goldstone report will severely hamper the peace process, as his government will not be able to take risks for peace if the international community denies Israel its legitimate right to self-defense.

The Israeli people share a sense that they are all being indicted by this report and its endorsement and referral could have grave and long-lasting consequences for the Jewish State.

So please contact your government leaders today, calling on them to reject any further action on the Goldstone report.

Sincerely Yours!
Malcolm Hedding, ICEJ Executive Director
Juergen Buehler, ICEJ International Director

[As of this writing, ICEJ lists the United States as intending to vote AGAINST accepting this report and its recommendations. Lift up a prayer that we will continue to stand by Israel in this critical hour.]

- Father, You see from Your throne room in heaven this amalgamation of nations aligning themselves against Israel. Stretch forth Your hand, my God, and weaken and disarm any and all assaults made by the Palestinian Authority and the UN Human Rights Council who directly oppose Israel. Put Your protection over and around Israel, the land and its people, like a holy cloud. Disarm all their enemies and bring them to naught by God's power from heaven. In Jesus Name.

- "O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for Your own sake, O my God: for Your city Jerusalem and Your people Israel are called by Your name." (Daniel 9:19)

Decree against the flu

Background:
We wish to thank one of our prayer partners for sending us this information, and the decree that follows. Thank you!

Last week, Chuck Pierce wrote Joe Knight and asked him to write a decree against this Flu. When he read what he decreed, he said, "I could not but agree with the words. Stop and decree these words into your atmosphere."

Father in Jesus' name I come against flu, I forbid you to advance an further. I bind you and cast you out now in the name of Jesus. I take authority over the very atmosphere that we breath and I decree and declare that every sickness or disease that is being transmitted through the atmosphere is cursed and commanded to die now in Jesus' name. I reverse the curse of sickness from flu, whether it is swine or any other strain of flu, and command it to fall to the ground and have no effect upon me, my family, our church staff, our church body corporately, or the church body at large. Father in Jesus' name no prophetic act or word curse released through the spirit of divination, witchcraft, or the spirit of the occult has any right to us and I cancel and reverse all of these curses. I draw a blood line around us, the blood of Jesus, and those connected with us and I decree and declare that no weapon formed against us will prosper, no plague shall come near our dwelling and our bodies will now come into alignment with the Word of God, "by His stripes we are healed".
