INTRODUCTION TO THIS SPECIAL SECTION

Today, the greatest need for prayer in Washington is to cover the issue of "Obamacare" in intense prayer.

The news related to the possible passage of "Obamacare" is now changing here, hour by hour, if not minute by minute. Your continuous covering in intercession over this one issue, this week, is thus greatly appreciated.

In this Special Section, you will first find a prayer written by a Prayer Partner in Florida, that really covers ALL of the issues related to "Obamacare" in intercession. Please find that prayer, below.

Next, we will simply cite the headlines posted today on this issue, confident that this one, mighty prayer, will cover it all.

Again, thank you for your careful consideration over this critical need, and may God's will be done for all of us as the nation seeks Him for His "health care plan" for America.

The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD; he directs it like a watercourse wherever he pleases. (Prov. 21:1)

SPECIAL PRAYER OVER HEALTH CARE LEGISLATION

Father, In Jesus' Most Holy and Precious Name, we humbly ask that You step in and intervene at this most critical juncture in our nation's history. Father, it was YOU who gave our Founding Fathers the wisdom and guidance to assert that our nation would be one nation under GOD, with liberty and justice for all. Our nation's founding documents state that it is from YOU that we receive the inalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness NOT our federal government.

Father, please stop this healthcare legislation dead in its tracks. Please frustrate the plotting of the shrewd who seek to alter our nation into a socialist democracy so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise or attain success. (Job 5:12-13). Expose to the light of day the plans of the crafty. Allow confusion and chaos to reign in their meetings this weekend and into next week so that no path to reconciliation may be achieved. Please allow division and rivalry to thwart the plans of those who seek to override the will of the citizens of the United States so that this entire endeavor fails in utter futility. Please awaken our citizenry to what is at stake.

Father, we also humbly ask that you will bring good out of this terrible situation. Please graciously use this whole experience to draw people to Yourself. In Jesus' name we pray for revival to spread across our land and to heal our nation so that we once again seek our liberty from You and not from a government of men.

Thank you for graciously hearing our prayers on behalf of our nation and our fellow citizens.

In Jesus' Most Holy Name We Pray. Amen. (Submitted by a Prayer Partner in Pensacola, FL)

1. WHITE HOUSE RELEASES REVAMPED OBAMA HEALTH PLAN

In a crucial week of high wire politics, Barack Obama moved Monday to transform his top priority health care plan from a political liability into a trump card to outwit Republicans. (AFP)

2. NEW OBAMA HEALTH CARE PLAN BORROWS HEAVILY FROM SENATE BILL

President Obama's newest proposal for health care reform includes much of the provisions of the Senate's bill that passed on Christmas Eve, but excludes the special deal arranged for Nebraska to have its Medicaid bills covered by the federal government.

Administration officials said Monday that the president's proposal does not include a so-called public option because that did not make it into final Senate language.

The latest plan is expected to require most Americans to carry health insurance coverage, with federal subsidies to help many afford the premiums. It would bar insurance companies from denying coverage to people with medical problems or charging them more. The expected price tag is around $1 trillion over 10 years. (AP)

3. DEMOCRATS PREPARE TO PASS HEALTH CARE BILL VIA RECONCILIATION

The White House and Democratic congressional leaders are preparing a detailed health care proposal designed to win passage without Republican support if GOP lawmakers fail to embrace bipartisan compromises at President Barack Obama's summit later this week. (AP)

4. GOP HEADED TO WHITE HOUSE HOPEFUL BUT HESITANT

Republicans are going to show up Thursday for a meeting on health care reform with President Obama and congressional Democrats, but they aren't going to accept whole cloth a bill outlining Democratic plans that is being posted on the White House Web site Monday. "If they are going to lay out the plan they want four days in advance, what are we discussing?" Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., asked on "Fox News Sunday." McConnell repeatedly used the word "arrogant" to describe any plan to move forward with health care proposals that the American people widely panned last year. He added that reconciliation -- a budget maneuver that allows the majority party to pass legislation with 51 votes and no procedural blocks -- would not fly. (Fox News)

1. OBAMA S HEALTH CARE PLAN INCLUDES FEDERAL FUNDING OF ABORTION

The president's health care plan includes federal funding of abortion. There may be some good news, however. White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer told Roll Call that President Barack Obama will keep "an open mind to additional ideas" at the bipartisan health care meeting Thursday.

U.S. Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind., does not seem to be buying it. "House Republicans welcome any good-faith effort to start over on health care reform," he said, "but the bill President Obama unveiled today is just more of the same government-run insurance, mandates and taxes the American people have overwhelmingly rejected."

House Republicans have their own alternative. It would include Hyde Amendment language, which bans the use of federal funds to pay for most abortions.

Charmaine Yoest, president of Americans United for Life Action, said the president is breaking a promise to the American people that no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions. "Unless they (the administration) include specific legislative language banning the use of federal funds for abortion," she said, "they will be establishing taxpayer funding for abortion. Today was the president's opportunity to keep his word."

- The shedding of innocent blood brings a curse upon our land. Cry out for MERCY in the midst of JUDGMENT. Perhaps the LORD would yet turn the heart of this king from evil to good. May the scales fall off his eyes; and may Obama be set free to walk in truth -- not error -- all the days of his life on earth.

- And immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he regained his sight, and he got up and was baptized. (Acts 9:18)

2. BAYH STANDS DOWN; LAUTENBERG ILL; DEMOCRATS CHALLENGED

Lautenberg's Illness Poses More Problems for Senate Democrats

Concerns about New Jersey Sen. Frank Lautenberg's health pose yet another challenge for Democrats struggling to retain control of the Senate. Lautenberg's announcement Friday that he's suffering from stomach lymphoma and will receive treatment over the next few months could complicate matters for Democrats as they seek to muster enough votes to overcome Republican delaying tactics over jobs, health care and more.

Even before his illness, Democrats had lost their 60-vote supermajority when Republican Scott Brown won the special election to replace the late Democratic Sen. Edward Kennedy. That deprived them of the numbers needed to head off any GOP filibuster. Now, they're staring at the possibility of further erosion -- and momentum gained by newly emboldened Republicans -- going into the midterm elections.

Indiana Democrat Even Bayh is planning to step down, a surprise decision that followed a flurry of other Democratic retirements, including Sen. Christopher Dodd in Connecticut. In Delaware, Vice President Joe Biden's son decided against a Senate run, boosting Republican hopes to take over the seat Biden held for 36 years. In Illinois, Republicans like their chances in trying to win President Barack Obama's old Senate seat. That's now held by Democrat Roland Burris, who was appointed by a scandal-tainted governor and has decided not to seek a full term.

If Lautenberg, 86, has to miss multiple votes for health reasons, Democrats could struggle to fill the void. The nation's second-oldest senator is expected to return to work between treatments.

Lautenberg is to undergo six to eight chemotherapy treatments and should make a full recovery, his doctor said. Lautenberg is not up for re-election until 2014.

- Thank the LORD that, even though there is chaos in the District of Columbia, there is no chaos in the District of Christ. Praise Him for the new name He has given to our city, and call forth Kingdom order iinto the camp in the Senate. Our Lord surely yet has a plan for our nation, and it is unfolding before our very eyes. Pray, too, for Senator Lautenberg to receive healing from our Lord in mind, body and soul Amen.

- Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. (Matt. 6:10)

3. TWO BILLS INTRODUCED TO SUPPORT D.C. VOTERS' RIGHTS ON MARRIAGE

URGENT!

A District-wide coalition of pastors, and civic leaders has joined forces to support the right of voters in D.C. to vote on whether to allow permission for same-sex marriages to be legalized in the nation s capitol. They will will urge Senators and Representatives to support and co-sponsor Senate Bill 2980 and HR-4430, respectively - to give DC residents the right to vote on this issue.

Importantly, the consequences of this law are not just local. From a national perspective, this law marks the beginning of an assault on the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) which has allowed 31 states to vote to protect the definition of marriage. Radical gay marriage activists want to silence the voices of all those people as well - by lobbying elite legislators and pulling high powered legal maneuvers.

Please call your own member of Congress or Senators and ask them to support passage of these two critical bills. Thank you.

- Offer praise for the introduction of these two bills in Congress: S. 2980 in the Senate, sponsored by Senator Robert F. Bennett (R-UT) and H.R. 4430 in the House, sponsored by Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT). Both bills state: A bill to protect the democratic process and the right of the people of the District of Columbia to define marriage.

Pray for a GROUNDSWELL of support to emerge for the quick passage of BOTH bills, that the rights of the voters in the District of CHRIST can be secured!

- Thy people shall volunteer freely in the day of Thy power. (Ps. 110:3 NAS)

4. STUDENT NONDISCRIMINATION ACT: PART OF THE GAY AGENDA IN CONGRESS

Sixty-six members of the House have introduced the Student Nondiscrimination Act of 2010 (HB 4530). Reportedly, President Obama's now infamous "Safe Schools Czar," Kevin Jennings, has been working with Democrats in Congress to craft the bill that will make LGBT students in public schools a federally protected class. Schools would enforce non-discrimination among students, leaving individual students free to file federal criminal complaints. Schools that fail to comply would lose federal funding. The bill will have the effect of giving special rights and protection to those who practice sexual behaviors that were illegal in many states just seven years ago. Openly homosexual Representative Jared Polis (D-Colo.) is chief sponsor of the bill, which would give radical homosexual activist Kevin Jennings almost unlimited power to mandate his vision of homosexual indoctrination in schools across America. (FRC Prayer Targets)

- May God and the American people deliver the Obama Administration of radicals like Kevin Jennings, who seek to use the federal apparatus not to support education but homosexual indoctrination. Pray that the eyes of Czar Jennings be opened to the truth of his situation. May the Lord provide them help with the deception that ensnares their lives. Pray protection around the minds and bodies of American students in our public schools. May this bill be defeated soundly!

- Gather the people together: men and women and little ones, and the stranger who is within your gates, that they may learn to fear the Lord your God and carefully observe all the words of this law. (Deuteronomy 31:12)

5. 71 MEMBERS OF CONGRESS SUPPORT CREATION OF A "DEPARTMENT OF PEACE"

Did you know that if you don't believe God is in everyone, you are working against world peace? This is what many who are promoting HR808 in the U.S. House of Representatives believe. And thus far, 288 House members have expressed approval for a bill that would create a U.S. Department of Peace. Far left Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) introduced this bill, and he and others believe a Cabinet level Department of Peace just might chase evil, war, and terrorism away!

This legislation will pass, according to some Washington insiders, unless there is another wave of citizens who will rise up and speak up by contacting their representatives in Washington. This is, in part at least, the ideology of this Department of Peace! Do these 71 members of the U.S. House of Representatives really know what they are signing on to? Call, write, e-mail, or fax them and let them know!

- These people totally ignore man's sinful nature. They believe that forming a committee or a Cabinet position will bring about nirvana. They mock the Prince of Peace and would never bring Him into their peace negotiations and discussions. They are convinced that all the world will be well once this Department of Peace is up and running! (www.olivetreeviews.org)

- Please pray for these representatives in the House so that each will have an encounter with Jesus Christ. Clearly, each one must sense that something is wrong or that something is missing. May they find the way to the only One who is able to fill the hole in a soul.

- By peace he [the Antichrist] shall destroy many. (Daniel 8:25)

6. SENATE COMMITTEE REVIEWS "DON T ASK, DON T TELL" POLICY

The fight against 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell,' the Clinton era compromise policy governing implementation of the military's longtime ban against homosexual conduct in the Armed Forces, was front and center. In a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing earlier this month, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Navy Admiral Mike Mullen testified, "It is my personal belief that allowing gays and lesbians to serve openly would be the right thing to do." But Tony Perkins notes that Mullen was speaking for himself - not the Joint Chiefs. Some have gone on record as saying that admitting openly practicing homosexuals would be "disruptive," could undermine military readiness and weaken our national security.

Meanwhile a Military Times Poll of 3000 active duty service members, showed that 51% believe the policy should not be changed, while 29.5% believe it should. Those who "strongly" oppose changing the law (36.8%) outnumbered those who "strongly" support homosexuals in the military (14.5%). The House Military Personnel Subcommittee will take up the measure on March 3rd. (FRC Prayer Targets)

- May God, the American people, and our service men and women intervene to keep our military from being sexualized by homosexual activists.

- The righteous will never be removed, but the wicked will not inhabit the earth. The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but the perverse tongue will be cut out. (Proverbs 10:30-31)

7. OBAMA MAKING PLANS TO USE EXECUTIVE POWER

With much of his legislative agenda stalled in Congress, President Obama and his team are preparing an array of actions using his executive power to advance energy, environmental, fiscal and other domestic policy priorities. "We are reviewing a list of presidential executive orders and directives to get the job done across a front of issues," said Rahm Emanuel, the White House chief of staff.

For example, Mr. Obama has already decided to create a bipartisan budget commission under his own authority after Congress refused to do so. His administration has signaled that it plans to use its discretion to soften enforcement of the ban on openly gay men and lesbians serving in the military, even as Congress considers repealing the law. And the Environmental Protection Agency is moving forward with possible regulations on heat-trapping gases blamed for climate change, while a bill to cap such emissions languishes in the Senate.

In addition, in an effort to demonstrate forward momentum, the White House is also drawing more attention to the sorts of actions taken regularly by cabinet departments without much fanfare. The White House heavily promoted an export initiative announced by Commerce Secretary Gary Locke last week and nearly $1 billion in health care technology grants announced on Friday by Kathleen Sebelius, the health and human services secretary, and Hilda L. Solis, the labor secretary. (New York Times) Read more

- The President and his staff are determined to impose their agenda on the American people. They seem not to understand the American spirit and mind. The only recourse is to work on the federal lawmakers, who fearful of losing their seats in Congress, will stand against the President. "A front of issues" is an interesting phrase, suggesting a line of battle. Pray against the executive orders that are detrimental to our nation, and pray confusion into the battle line.

- Indeed heaven and the highest heavens belong to the Lord your God, also the earth with all that is in it. (Deuteronomy 10:14)

8. OBAMA FORMS BIPARTISAN COMMISSION ON DEFICIT

President Obama created a bipartisan commission Thursday to cut the growing federal deficit, which he called "an economic crisis brought on by years of bad habits in Washington." "These are tough times, and we cannot be spending like they are not," Mr. Obama said before signing the executive order establishing the Bipartisan National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform. Mr. Obama appointed as co-chairmen Erskine Bowles, a chief of staff in the Clinton administration, and former Senate Whip Alan K. Simpson, Wyoming Republican. (Fox News)

- As we sink deeper and deeper into debt, we pray that this panel will be a real force for change. May we be better stewards of Your blessings both privately and corporately.

- The rich rules over the poor, And the borrower becomes the lender's slave. (Proverbs 22:7)

1. OBAMA APPOINTS MOSLEM ENVOY TO ISLAMIC CONFERENCE

An Islamic critic and terrorism expert says Obama should not have named a special envoy to an Islamic organization that is an absolute enemy of the United States. Hussein Obama has named White House lawyer Rashad Hussain as his special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), which represents 57 Muslim countries. The president claims Hussain is a "hafiz of the Quran" -- one who has memorized their book. He also contends that Hussain will continue working to repair U.S.-Islamic relations and develop the types of partnerships Obama called for last year in his address to the Muslim world in Cairo.

"It takes two to repair relations, and he's not going to be able to do it on his own," comments Robert Spencer, director of Jihad Watch. "He's reaching out and reaching out and reaching out, and all he is doing is giving them the impression that we're weak, and that's really the way in which the Islamic Jihad groups operate. They understand weakness and strength. They don't understand conciliation; they see it as weakness."

Spencer adds that the president should not be sending an envoy to a group like the OIC, as he believes "it is waging a war against free speech at the United Nations and elsewhere, trying to stifle critics of Islam and Jihad, trying to vilify and smear anybody who speaks honestly about Jihad activity as a hateful bigot and so-on."

As for the White House lawyer and special envoy, the Jihad Watch director recalls that "Rashad Hussain defended publically Sami Al-Arian, who was a professor at the University of South Florida, who is now in prison for his role as a leader of Palestinian Islamic Jihad." Spencer further notes that Hussain has spoken out against the "profiling" of Islamic terror suspects. (OneNewsNow)

- Pray that God will remove the anti-American influence from Mr. Obama's administration. Also pray that somehow the Lord will reach Mr. Obama about placating those whose world view is so radically different than our own that they cannot be reached by negotiation or conciliation. We bind the spirit of deception over Mr. Hussain and loose the Holy Spirit against it.

- Your covenant with death will be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol will not stand. (Isaiah 28:18a)

2. OBAMA MEETS DALAI LAMA, AND CHINA IS QUICK TO PROTEST

Officials in Beijing have summoned the U.S. ambassador to China to protest Obama's meeting Thursday with the Dalai Lama, the exiled spiritual leader of Tibet.

Within hours of the White House talks between Obama and the Dalai Lama, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman issued a statement saying the meeting had "seriously harmed" U.S.-Sino relations.

"We believe the actions of the U.S. side have seriously interfered in Chinese internal affairs, seriously hurt the feelings of the Chinese people and seriously undermined China-U.S. relations," he said.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry summoned the American ambassador in Beijing to lodge its "solemn representations" - claiming the United States had "grossly violated international relations" by ignoring its warnings not to meet with the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader. (Voice of America; New York Times) Read more

- Obama is correct: the Dalai Lama is not the political leader of a sovereign nation. Offer praise that this meeting, if it had to take place, at least occurred in the Map Room of the White House. Once again and in the aftermath of this visit, ask our Lord to pour His healing oil over the troubled waters with Communist China. The times are now tricky enough without America intentionally fanning the flames any brighter.

Thank the Lord that He is greater than any other spiritual force on the earth and that, at the Cross, all other powers have been defeated and their captives set free. Praise God.

- Do not be deceived . . . (Gal. 6:7)

3. MOSLEM STUDENTS SCREAM "KILLER" DURING ISRAEL ENVOY SPEECH IN L.A.

California police reportedly made 12 arrests on Monday after a speech by Israel's U.S. Ambassador Michael Oren descended into chaos. Hecklers interrupted Oren's lecture at University of California, Irvine, over 10 times, shouting "killers" and "how many Palestinians did you kill?" The arrested students were apparently members of the university's Muslim Student Union, which had publicly condemned Oren's visit earlier in the day.

Oren took a 20 minute break after the fourth protest, only to be interrupted again by young men yelling at him every few minutes, local press reported. Many members of the audience also applauded Oren. He eventually completed his speech, sometime later than scheduled but did not take questions from the audience as planned. University Chancellor Michael Drake was booed by some and applauded by others when he told the audience that he was embarrassed by the outburst. (Haaretz) [See more]

- Pray that these students will be sufficiently punished for their despicable behavior in front of the Ambassador of Israel. May the Lord put peace in the heart of Ambassador Oren.

- So it was, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, "It is the king of Israel!" Therefore they surrounded him to attack; but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the Lord helped him, and God diverted them from him. (2 Chronicles 18:31)

4. ADMIRAL MULLEN VOWS: "NEVER AGAIN" TO ANOTHER HOLOCAUST

As Iran moves closer to attaining nuclear weapons, America's top-ranking military official vowed during a visit to Jerusalem that the United States is committed to preventing another Holocaust.

"It is such an important place to remember the tragic side of humanity and that we all are so committed to making sure nothing like this ever, ever happens again," said Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Michael G. Mullen. Mullen made the comments after he deliberately asked to visit the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial during his three-day trip to Israel. . . His words at this place and at this time sent a powerful message to the Israelis.

The United States is concerned that Israel may take unilateral actions against the perceived threat from Iran and has urged Jerusalem to coordinate with Washington beforehand. Some strategists see a major conflagration in the Middle East that could threaten some Arab regimes and open a multi-front war as Iran and its allies retaliate.

(Excerpts from an article by Arieh O'Sullivan, The Media Line, February 16, 2010) [Reported by: Bridges for Peace]

- Thank the Lord for America's commitment to stand with Israel against a nuclear Iran. Pray that the nations of the world join with them in dealing decisively and firmly to remove this threat to the nations.

- Consider and hear me, O LORD my God; enlighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death; lest my enemy say, 'I have prevailed against him'; lest those who trouble me rejoice when I am moved. But I have trusted in Your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. (Psalm 13:3-5)

5. MULLEN: ENEMY HARDER THAN EXPECTED IN AFGHANISTAN

Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Mike Mullen spoke to reporters Monday for the first time since the operation in Marjah, Afghanistan got underway just over a week ago. Admiral Mullen acknowledged difficulties in the Marjah operation, saying progress has been "slower than anticipated." "In some places, the enemy fights harder than expected", Mullen explained. "The IEDs he has planted along the roads and at intersections, though crude, are still deadly."

Mullen said that in the short term people tend to focus on the failures of war and that success will take more time. "If we've learned nothing else these past eight years, it is that failure makes itself plainly clear, but success takes longer to see. We will see success in Marjah, but we must be patient." (AP)

- Continue in prayer for our troops on the ground in Afghanistan. Over the weekend, nine Marines were killed in Marjah, and two more in Kandahar. Ask our Lord to call forth His angelic host to provide "air support" for the troops on the ground. The way against evil is real, and the victory is the Lord's. Amen.

- Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Eph. 6:13)

6. RUSSIA DELAYS ARMS DELIVERY TO IRAN

Russia is delaying delivery of its S-300 air-defense system to Iran and is also calling for Tehran to adhere to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) guidelines for enrichment of nuclear fuel. The moves follow Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's two-day visit to Moscow. (Voice of America)

- Lord, this is a mighty answer to prayer. We pray this delay will continue until Russia finally cancels the order.

- They rose early in the morning and went out to the wilderness of Tekoa; and when they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, "Listen to me, O Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, put your trust in the LORD your God and you will be established. Put your trust in His prophets and succeed." (2 Chronicles 20:20)

This Week, Worship Our Lord As . . .

JUDGE (Sho-fayt)

"And the heavens proclaim his righteousness, for God himself is judge." (Psalm 50:6)
Father,

Thank You that You do not give me what I so often deserve. But because of the Blood of Yeshua, You give me so much more. Thank You for Your perfect judgment, Shofayt, Judge.

"Yes, LORD, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts." (Isaiah 26:8)
