The Daily Brief - Wednesday, March 3, 2010

O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: tremble before him, all the earth. (Psalm 96:9)

Today's Daily Brief

1. Economists: Another Financial Crisis on the Way - ABC News

Even as many Americans still struggle to recover from the country's worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, another crisis one that will be even worse than the current one is looming, according to a new report from a group of leading economists, financiers, and former federal regulators.

- Father, we call out to You regarding the continual state of perpetual imbalance in the global financial system. We ask that Your hand be raised to stop and bring down these artificially manufactured crises, which put people under constant duress and confusion and a possible state of apathy sets in. God, remove any veil that prevents full cognizance of the truth. Guide Your people to make sound decisions and raise them above the control of evil men. In Jesus Name.

- "The Lord went forth for the salvation of His people, even for saving of Your anointed; You struck the head from the house of the wicked, by discovering the foundation unto the neck." (Habakkuk 3:13)

2. Obama to Trigger Nuke Option on Healthcare - ABC News

White House officials tell ABC News that in his remarks tomorrow President Obama will indicate a willingness to work with Republicans on some issue to get a health care reform bill passed but will suggest that if it is necessary, Democrats will use the controversial "reconciliation" rules requiring only 51 Senate votes to pass the "fix" to the Senate bill, as opposed to the 60 votes to stop a filibuster and proceed to a vote on a bill.

- Father, all hearts and intents are laid bare before the eyes of our God. We ask that You expose every hidden motive herein. We stand in prayer completely and entirely identified with God's interests regarding this bill. May Your holy will be done. In Jesus Name.

- "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints." (Ephesians 6:18)

3. Perry tops Hutchison in Texas primary - Washington Times

Riding a wave of growing anti-Washington anger, Texas Gov. Rick Perry easily dispatched Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison and a challenger backed by some in the tea party movement Tuesday to once again become the Republican nominee for the state's top office.

- Father, You know the hearts and we ask for righteousness to reign supreme over all the nominees voted into office in the State of Texas. Expose the hearts and characters, and any facade that has a dagger at its belt. Pull out all props. We plead the blood of Jesus over the governorship of Texas. In Jesus Name.

- "See the Lord and His strength, seek His face continually." (I Chronicles 16:11)

4. GOP rejects Obama's compromise offer on health bill - USA Today

President Obama offered to add a handful of Republican ideas to his 10-year, $950 billion health care plan Tuesday but was rebuffed and urged to start over.

- Father, we ask that You reinforce the sovereignty of the United States and give total freedom from the external control behind this health care bill. This bill has been destroyed in the hands of our God and it shall not be reinstated. In Jesus Name.

- "Whosoever therefore resists the authority of God, has opposed the ordinance of God: and those having opposed, to themselves will receive judgment." (Romans 13:2)

5. Overlooked aspect of health care bill could fund abortion - Baptist Press

As Democrats prepare for what likely will be one final push for a health care bill, pro-life groups are targeting several aspects of the proposal, including billions of dollars in new funding for community health centers that the groups say could go to fund abortions.

- Father, did not the first-born son of Adam slay his brother Abel? How then, can we wonder at the increase of crime and disobedient people around us who are permitted to violate the laws of God and the hearts of parents who wink when their children are allowed to abort innocent lives of babies. God, call forth angels from heaven to go to war against evildoers who condone the shedding of innocent blood. We plead the blood of Jesus to stand against this death spirit of Cain that thrives on spilt blood of martyrs and the elderly. Do a mighty work, Lord. In Jesus Name.

- "So shall they fear the Name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him" (Isaiah 59:19)

6. High Court Refuses to Stop D.C. Gay Marriages - CBN News

The Supreme Court refused to block a gay marriage law from taking effect in Washington, D.C. The denial allows gays to marry freely within the nation's capital beginning Wednesday.

- Father, we cry out to You for mercy on our country who is conforming to the lifestyle of Sodom and Gomorrah. Men and women are shaking their fists in the face of Almighty God, and are bringing judgment upon America. The remedy to all sin is the cross of Jesus Christ, and the blood that He shed when He was crucified. Cry out to God in repentance of sin and be raised up to a new life in Christ. Lost souls are at stake. Let us lift our voices heavenward, and believe God for deliverance. In Jesus Name.

- "And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; And there came two angels to Sodom at even; For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the Lord; and the Lord has sent us to destroy it. Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven; and lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace." (Genesis 18:20, 19:1, 20, 24, 28)

7. U.N. council ready to tackle Iran nuclear issue - Reuters

The president of the U.N. Security Council said on Tuesday it was ready to tackle proposals for new sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program, while U.S. diplomats worked to persuade China that action is needed.

- God, we ask You to bring about definitive action regarding sanctions against Iran. Raise up truth as a standard against the hypocrisy of the system. In Jesus Name.

The Middle East in Focus

This week, for all the headlines cited below, please join us in proclaiming THIS DECREE:

- You, O God, sent plentiful rain, whereby You did establish Your inheritance, when it was weary. (Psalms 68:9)

1. "We believe there are reserves adjacent to Tamar and Dalit" - Globes

Noble Energy chairman and CEO Charles Davidson expressed optimism that there will be more gas fields discovered at a press conference in Tel Aviv today.

2. Who will blink first in Iran's nuclear poker game? - Ha'aretz

Netanyahu managed to convince the world that Israel is on the verge of a preemptive war to try to foil Iran's nuclear program. His speeches on a second Holocaust and Amalek, the acceleration of military preparations, the exercises on the Home Front, the distribution of gas masks and even the stockpiling of dollars by the Bank of Israel all suggest that Israel is preparing to strike Iran, as it did when it attacked the nuclear plants in Iraq and Syria. The preparations for war give Israel unprecedented international significance. U.S. President Barack Obama, who kept his distance at the beginning of his tenure, is now airlifting senior officials to ask Netanyahu to hold back.

3. 'Syria willing to take back Golan in stages' - Ynet News

Despite the recent exchange of threats and the forming alliance with Iran, the British Guardian newspaper reported over the weekend that Syrian officials have expressed willingness to renew peace talks with Israel based on a step-by-step withdrawal from the Golan Heights.

4. Hamas: Jordan or Egypt likely behind Dubai hit - Reuters

Hamas suspects the security forces of an Arab state were behind the assassination of a senior group operative in Dubai earlier this year, the Al-Quds Al-Araby daily reported on Tuesday.

5. IDF unveils upgrades to Gaza fence - Jerusalem Post

Israel has augmented its defenses along the Gaza border with new surveillance and radar systems capable of better detecting infiltrating Palestinian terrorists.

The Deception of Socialism and its American Reality

In Matthew 24:11, Jesus Christ warns that in the "beginning of sorrows", "And many false prophets shall rise and shall deceive many." In fact, Jesus warns in this very chapter about the latter days that many will be deceived by those saying they are the Christ; that many will be deceived by false prophets; and that there would be many false christs and false prophets that "if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." He begins this discourse on the latter days by warning: "Take heed that no man deceive you." Perhaps every generation nearing the return of the Lord sees more deception than the one before it, but there is great deception upon us as a nation, as a people and as citizens of the world.

Global warming alarmist and the world's first global warming millionaire, Al Gore wrote an op/ed for the New York Times defending the scientific fraud surrounding the issue. He wrote, "But unfortunately, the reality of the danger we are courting has not been changed by the discovery of at least two mistakes in the thousands of pages of careful scientific work over the last 22 years by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change." He said that the flawed information was only "partly inaccurate." Gore has the audacity to defend the global warming science even after the sources he quotes have renounced both the data and the science used collecting the data. Gore and his ilk have deceived many.

Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi now has a new definition for "bipartisan support." Pelosi told CNN's "State of the Union" on Sunday, "They've had plenty of opportunity to make their voices heard. Bipartisanship is a two-way street. A bill can be bipartisan without bipartisan votes. Republicans have left their imprint." She says that Republican outrage over the bill has changed some parts of it, meaning they have given bipartisan support. Faced with Republican Whip Eric Cantor's showing the public the huge stack of the 2,700 page health care bill at the health care summit, Obama derided Cantor for his "stunt" and said, "The truth of the matter is that health care is very complicated."

The socialists are fighting so hard to keep the deception of global warming and health care going because they know that if any form of cap and trade tax or socialized medicine is instituted, they have finally won the war. Combined with spending taxpayer money to take control of the auto, home mortgage and banking industries, the government moves from being "free market" to the socialist model of "controlled market." In terms of deception, here is a reality: The Commerce Department reports that government transfer payments to individuals last year overtook tax revenue--meaning Americans took more aid from the government than they paid in taxes. Hence the deception of socialism, and its reality.

"God answers Prayer"

PRAYER is cutting crime and saving lives, a senior cop has claimed.

Inspector Roger Bartlett arranges meetings where locals pray for their police.

The 44-year-old - part of the leadership team of the Christian Policing Association in Barnstaple, Devon - said they started praying for the poor 26 per cent crime detection rate in 2007.
It has since soared to more than 40 per cent.

He said "the most significant answer to prayer" saw fatal road accidents in North Devon fall from 97 to 32 in a year.

Insp Bartlett added: "Many who do not have the faith would say that this is just coincidence.

"From my experience, the more I pray, the more coincidences I seem to see." (The Sun UK)
