1. Oil from Gulf spill may even reach Miami-scientist - Reuters

Crude from the massive Gulf of Mexico oil spill could eventually slosh ashore on Miami Beach or North Carolina's barrier islands, if it connects with a powerful sea current, an oceanographer said on Tuesday.

Federal Law to Limit BP Liability in Oil Spill? - CBN News

The Obama administration may have a tough time making British Petroleum pay for all the cleanup costs of the Gulf Coast oil spill.

- Lord, give wisdom and understanding for resolving this oil spill to those on the front lines of this disaster. Protect North Carolina and Florida from the effects of this oil spill in Jesus Name.

- By wisdom the Lord laid the earth's foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place; by his knowledge the deeps were divided, and the clouds let drop the dew. (Proverbs 3: 19,20)

2. DC Passes Medical Marijuana, Bill Goes to Mayor - NewsMax

The D.C. Council has passed a measure to legalize medical marijuana, sending the bill to Washington Mayor Adrian Fenty.

- Lord, we pray these council members proceed with caution on this bill. We pray there will be enough regulation in place to protect against any abuse of the drug.

- Then you will understand what is right and just and fair - every good path. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you. ( Proverbs 2: 9-11)

3. Times Square Car Bomb Suspect Faces Terrorism Charges After Admitting to Plot - Fox News

Pakistani-born U.S. citizen Faisal Shahzad has admitted trying to set off a car bomb in busy Times Square and will face terrorism and mass destruction charges, Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday.

- Lord, continue to expose the plans of our enemies. Foil their plans on every side. We pray a hedge of protection over our country. Nothing shall by any means harm us, in Jesus Name.

- If you make the Most High your dwelling- even the Lord, who is my refuge - then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. (Psalm 91:9-10)

4. High Court Refuses to Hear Boy Scouts Appeal - CBN News

The U.S. Supreme Court has refused to hear an appeal by the Boy Scouts of America in a case over the religious aspects of the group.

- Lord, we pray protection and favor over the Boy Scouts of America who have traditionally leased this land in San Diego. Protect them from accusing tongues that have come against them.

- No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. (Isaiah 54: 17)

5. Poll: 83% say God answers prayers, 57% favor National Prayer Day - USA Today

Americans are overwhelmingly sure there's a God who answers prayers.

- Lord, thank you for this report. It's encouraging to hear this poll amongst the challenging times we are facing in our country and around the world. Yes, You do answer prayers and we praise and magnify Your Name. We thank you for the National Day of Prayer.

- Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on you. O afflicted city, lashed by storms and not comforted, I will build you with stones of turquoise, your foundations with sapphires.
