"But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded."
(2 Chronicles 15:7)

The Daily Brief

1. Euro 'Will Be Dead in Five Years' - London Telegraph

The single currency is in its death throes and may not survive in its current membership for a week, let alone the next five years, according to a selection of responses to the survey - the first major wide-ranging litmus test of economic opinion in the City since the election. The findings underline suspicions that the new Chancellor, George Osborne, will have to firefight a full-blown crisis in Britain's biggest trading partner in his first years in office.

• Heavenly Father, our economies around the world, which are so tied together, are collapsing. While it is no surprise to you, it is to man, because they do not remember what you warned us about. Let all nations turn back to you and acknowledge their rebellious ways of not revering and obeying you. As we repent, we thank you for healing the world's economy.

"Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. (Deuteronomy 28:1)

2. Clinton: Iran May Pull Some Stunt - Jerusalem Post

US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton warned Sunday that Iran may "pull some stunt" in the next few days as the Islamic republic prepares for the possibility of more United Nations sanctions over its nuclear program. Iran is just one of the issues Clinton will discuss with Latin American leaders during this week's trip. She is expected to press Brazil, which opposes UN penalties against Iran, to switch sides.

• Lord, we pray you will intervene with a supernatural fire that will burn up their plans and facilities so they will not reach their goals. Let no one be blamed for it - but bring your fire down from Heaven and wipe out all their developments to set them back for years. Confound the plans of Iran. In Jesus Name.

Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench. Now when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, "The Lord, He is God! The Lord, He is God!" (1 Kings 18:38-39)

3. Thousands Protest Controversial Ariz. Immigration Law - Washington Times

Thousands of people from around the country marched to the Arizona state Capitol on Saturday to protest the state's tough new crackdown on illegal immigration. "I don't think that this law is American. I think it's discriminatory," said Chelsea Halstead, a 20-year-old college student from Flagstaff. "I'm offended by it because this is a nation founded by immigrants."
"Arizona, we feel, is America's Alamo in the fight against illegal and dangerous entry into the United States," said Gina Loudon of St. Louis, who is organizing the "boycott." Supporters of the law sought to counteract the economic damage of boycotts by bringing supporters into the state.

• Lord, we pray this attempt to intimidate a state for trying to protect its citizens against possible security threats, will be understood by those who are protesting this Arizona law. Let the argument clearly state - that it is not about immigration - but let it be understood by all, that it is illegal immigration that is the problem.

Then he read from Law in the open square that was in front of the Water Gate from morning until midday, before the men and women and those who could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive to the Book of the Law. (Nehemiah 8:3)

4. BP Cap Collects 10,500 Barrels a Day - Wall Street Journal

BP PLC said Sunday that a containment cap placed on its ruptured oil well a mile deep in the Gulf of Mexico collected 10,500 barrels of oil Saturday, marking a success after a string of failures in reducing the oil contaminating the Gulf. Two relief wells currently being drilled are considered the best bet to plug the leak. Those wells are expected to be completed in August at the earliest.

• Heavenly Father, we pray for these efforts to be successful. We pray you will put a shield up around the coastlines, so the oil does not reach land, and the animals will not be affected and die. Let states be prepared to deal with this crisis and let the government learn from these crisis how to be better prepared.

For I locked it behind barred gates, limiting its shores. I said, 'Thus far and no farther will you come. Here your proud waves must stop!' (Job 38:10-11 NLT)

5. Ohio Tornado Kills 7, Wrecks Cop Cars, Graduation - ABC News

A tornado unleashed a "war zone" of destruction in northwest Ohio, destroying dozens of homes and an emergency services building as a line of storms killed at least seven people and briefly threatened the Northeast on Sunday.

• Lord, even though the destruction was great, we thank you more lives were not taken. We pray they will quickly be restored. We pray for the weather this year to be calm in all areas of our nation, as people try to sort out their lives amidst the economic difficulties we are facing. We pray protection against fires, huge tornadoes, hurricanes, or calamities. In your name we pray.

He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven. (Psalm 107:29-30)

6. U.S.'s $13 Trillion Debt Poised to Overtake GDP - Bloomberg

Obama is poised to increase the U.S. debt to a level that exceeds the value of the nation's annual economic output, a step toward what Bill Gross called a "debt super cycle."
Dan Fuss, who manages the Loomis Sayles Bond Fund, which beat 94 percent of competitors the past year, said last week that he sold all of his Treasury bonds because of prospects interest rates will rise as the U.S. borrows unprecedented amounts. Obama is borrowing record amounts to fund spending programs to help the economy recover from its longest recession since the 1930s.

• Lord, as this debt skyrockets, we pray you will replace our leaders to those who can quickly turn this around. We pray you hold off any economic collapse in our nation, and around the world, as we struggle to stop these losses.

But remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms His covenant, which He swore to your forefathers, as it is today. (Deuteronomy 8:18)

1. Netanyahu: Israel will not allow establishment of Iranian port in Gaza - Ha'aretz

Speaking after he was updated Saturday on the peaceful takeover of the Gaza bound aid ship "Rachel Corrie," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel would "not allow the establishment of an Iranian port in Gaza."

2. Iran offers escort for Gaza ships - Jerusalem Post

Iran would be willing to send its Revolutionary Guard members to accompany further aid ships to Gaza, Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Sunday in an interview cited by Reuters.

3. Israel worried by new Turkey intelligence chief's defense of Iran - Ha'aretz

The Israeli defense establishment - and especially the Mossad's foreign relations department, which maintains ties with Turkey's national intelligence organization (MIT ) - is concerned over the recent appointment of Hakan Fidan as head of that organization, and the implications of that appointment vis-a-vis Turkish relations with Israel and Iran.

Questions We All Should Be Asking Ourselves

Iran Offers Escort for Next Gaza Convoy...Debt Poised to Overtake GDP...7 Killed in Heavy Storms Sweeping Through Midwest...Credit Rating Cut on Connecticut, Wealthiest State in America...Stimulus Billions Going To Low Income Students For Massage Schools...Arrested Islamic Radicals Wanted To Be World's Best Known Terrorists...These are just a few of the headlines of Monday, June 7. This amid one of the most public meetings in history of the Bilderberg secret society in Stiges, Spain. Did you know that heads of many US government agencies, the CEO of Microsoft, leaders at Harvard University, and the CEO of The Washington Post were among the attendees at this one world order meeting?

In the 8 1/2 years that I have been writing The Daily Jot, I have not seen so many satan-advancing headlines in so many different areas at once, as I have in this past six months. These are events occurring around the world that have prophetic implications. They relate to the type and shadow of the coming one world government, the coming one world religion, the wars against Israel, the moral decay of the once strongest Christian nation on earth. We live in the most exciting times in the history of the world because these are the days that Jesus spoke about in Matthew 24:8, "All these are the beginning of sorrows."

In these days, there will be nothing that can prevent us over the long term from experiencing the march of prophecy. It is in these days that we are not only going to see wondrous things, but also be tested to our limits in standing for our Christian beliefs. And we do not want to be like the handwriting on the wall in the book of Daniel where verse 5:27 says, "Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting." These are the days when we must be that light to a dark and dying world. And as the Apostle Paul writes in Ephesians 6:13, "Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."

In this, we must be equipped with the full armor of God in order to withstand in the evil day. Are you right with God? Do you know the will of God for your life? Do you have a personal relationship with the Lord? Do you pray, do you talk to Him without ceasing? Do you understand that being tossed to and fro with the latest doctrine or Christian fad is distracting you from God's purpose for your life? Our lives as Christians and the demonstration of our faith by our works begins with our relationship with God. And as with any relationship, such as friendship or marriage, it cannot stand the tests of the times unless it is strong. The only way we are going to change the world for Christ is to know Him, love Him and do His commandments.

U.S. Public Sides With Israel

In spite of a constant barrage of press criticism presenting Israel as the aggressor against innocent "peace activists" on the Turkish flotilla headed to Gaza, the American public is not buying the "official" line. According to Rasmussen Reports, nearly 50% of the U.S. public blames the people in the flotilla for the deaths that occurred, while only 19% blame Israel. A third of the country doesn't know enough to claim an opinion.

These polling results suggest that Obama's hostility toward Israel puts the president at odds with the great majority of the American public. Fifty-eight percent of the public sees Israel as our ally, while only 2% sees it as our enemy (Obama employees?). In contrast, only 30% see the United Nations as an ally, and 16% see the U.N. as our enemy. By the way, conservative Republicans were most supportive of Israel, while liberal Democrats were the most hostile. (Gary Bauer; End-of-Day; 6/7/10)

Helen Thomas

Leading Media Anti-Semite Resigns

Liberal Hearst reporter Helen Thomas has been a fixture of the White House press corps for decades. Literally decades - she's covered every president since Dwight Eisenhower. An outspoken liberal, Thomas has used her perch in the front row of the White House briefing room to hound presidents and press secretaries with leftwing diatribes, frequently aimed at Israel.
For example, in 2006 Thomas objected to the Bush Administration's support of Israel during Hezbollah's rocket attacks from Lebanon. During one press briefing, Thomas accused the U.S. of supporting the "collective punishment against all of Lebanon and Palestine." Press Secretary Tony Snow responded, "Well, thank you for the Hezbollah view . . ."

Last month, Thomas did it again. While prowling the White House grounds for a story during the May 27th Jewish Heritage Celebration, Thomas became the story. Rabbi David F. Nesenoff asked Thomas if she had any comments on Israel. Thomas responded, "Tell them to get the h--- out of Palestine." Thomas' anti-Israel comments were captured on video and released late last week. She went on to tell Rabbi Nesenoff that the land was occupied by the Israelis and that the Jews should "go home" to Poland and Germany. As Rabbi Nesenoff noted in a YouTube posting of Thomas' remarks, "Six million Jews were killed 'at home' in Germany and Poland." It has been reported that when the Israeli Navy attempted to contact the Free Gaza flotilla to warn the ships that they were approaching a naval blockade, one response they got was, "Shut up, go back to Auschwitz." It sounds like Helen Thomas would have felt right at home on the Free Gaza flotilla.

If you think a leftwing anti-Semite like Thomas is capable of reporting the news in an unbiased way, consider her question last week to White Press Secretary Robert Gibbs about the flotilla: "Our initial reaction to this flotilla massacre, deliberate massacre, an international crime, was pitiful. What do you mean you 'regret' when something should be so strongly condemned?" So in Helen Thomas' mind, Israeli Seals acting in self-defense amounts to a "deliberate massacre."

The agency that books speaking engagements for Thomas dropped her, and her scheduled graduation speech to a Maryland high school in the Washington, D.C., suburbs was cancelled. Craig Crawford, who co-authored a book a Thomas last year, released a statement saying he would no longer work with her. The White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) denounced Thomas' comments as "outrageous and offensive."

On the Bauer & Rose radio show yesterday, we devoted a significant portion of our time to Thomas' outburst and her history of anti-Israel remarks. We called for the Hearst Corporation to fire her and for the White House to revoke her press pass. This morning, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs called her remarks, "offensive and reprehensible." I'm pleased to write that shortly after noon today, Hearst announced Helen Thomas' resignation "effectively immediately." (Gary Bauer)

Israel Rejects UN Proposal for Gaza Probe

Israel has rejected a proposal from United Nations Secretary-general Ban Ki-moon to establish a multinational commission to investigate a deadly Israeli raid on a Gaza-bound aid ship. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told cabinet ministers Sunday that he had informed Mr. Ban of his decision. He said he told the U.N. chief an investigation of facts needed to be carried out "responsibly and objectively." Israel's U.S. ambassador, Michael Oren, told "Fox News Sunday" Israel had the ability and right to conduct its own investigation. Mr. Ban proposed establishing a panel led by former New Zealand Prime Minister Geoffrey Palmer to investigate last Monday's Israeli commando raid that killed nine international activists. More about the Flotilla Activists

IDF: Five Gaza flotilla activists linked to Hamas, Al-Qaida

The Israel Defense Forces revealed on Sunday that five of the pro-Palestinian activists aboard the Turkish-flagged ship it intercepted last week en route to the Gaza Strip have links to the Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements. The military did not specify whether these five activists took part in the violent clashes with the Israel Navy commandos that left nine people dead and several more wounded. One of the activists exposed by the IDF was named as Iranian-born Fatima Mahmadi, a 31-year-old resident of the United States. According to the IDF, Mohammadi is a member of Viva Palestine, a movement that had tried bringing illegal electronic devices into the Gaza Strip. Ken O'Keefe, a 41-year-old citizen of the United States and Britain, was another activist named by the IDF as having links to terrorist organizations. According to the IDF, O'Keefe is an extremist who hates Israel and whose "goal was to reach Gaza in order to help train and establish Hamas commando units." (Ha'aretz)

More about that Flotilla (again)

US Asked to Look into American Backers of Gaza Flotilla

The United States should investigate the American backers of activist flotillas that challenge Israel's naval closure off the coast of Gaza, an Israeli human rights group said Monday. Shurat Hadin (Israel Law Center) chairwoman, attorney Nitzana Darshan-Leitner has sent a letter asking US Attorney General Eric Holder to look into the "Free Gaza" movement (FGM).

Free Gaza is a US-based group which aims to undermine Israel's control of waters off the Gaza coast. The Free Gaza organization is providing military assistance to Hamas by attempting to break the Israeli blockade while Hamas continues its attacks on Israeli civilians, Darshan-Leitner said. In doing so, it is taking part in attacking a state friendly to America - a violation of the U.S. Neutrality Act (18 U.S.C. 960).

The Neutrality Act states, "Whoever, within the United States, knowingly begins or sets on foot or provides or prepares a means for or furnishes the money for, or takes part in, any military or naval expedition or enterprise to be carried on from thence against the territory or dominion of any foreign prince or state, or of any colony, district, or people with whom the United States is at peace, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both." Pro-Life Measure Makes Alaska Ballot

The Alaska Supreme Court ruled on Wednesday that a ballot initiative requiring parental involvement for minors seeking abortions can appear on the August primary ballot.
The measure, which requires doctors to personally call parents to notify them of their daughter's pending abortion, was challenged by Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest. The group claimed petition signers were not fully informed.

Jim Minnery, president of the Alaska Family Council, said the lawsuit was just an attempt to slow down the process. "It wouldn't have made a difference either way," he said. "(The Supreme Court) made the right call and we're just happy to be at the polls on August 24." He expects the initiative to pass, but says the constitutionality of the ballot measure will be challenged. "Even if Planned Parenthood files a lawsuit," he said, "we're standing on solid legal ground." (CitizenLink)
