"Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigns." (Rev. 19:6)

The Daily Brief

1. Netanyahu- Willing to Swap Freeze for Recognition - YNET News

The Knesset opened its winter session on Monday, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu saying that he would be willing to extend a construction freeze in West Bank settlements if the Palestinians recognize Israel as a Jewish state.

"Unfortunately up until now the Palestinians have not responded to this call and the United States is searching for different ways to continue the talks," he said.

- Father, we thank you for the wisdom of the Prime Minister of Israel as he works with strength and hope amidst the animosity of the entire world. We ask for Your light and Your truth to penetrate his every action, preserving the nation of Israel and making her enemies to be ashamed.

- "And they shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up My jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spares his own son that serves him." (Malachi 3:17)

2. Karzai Confirms Peaces Talks With Taliban - AP

Afghan leader confirms he's been in talks with the Taliban on securing peace in war-weary country, saying that 'unofficial' discussions with reps from both sides are continuing.

- Lord, negotiations with those so filled with hate are not reliable. We pray that You will cover this plan with Your power, and reveal any hidden agendas or secrets that could harm either the government and people of Afghanistan, or our troops who are still fighting them.

- "Your hands shall find out all of Your enemies; Your right hand shall find out those that hate You." (Psalm 21:8)

3. Tense Final Hours Ahead for Chilean Miners -- AP

A smooth-walled path to daylight awaited 33 trapped miners Sunday as they entered the tense final hours of a two-month odyssey christened in the terror of collapsing rock deep under a Chilean mountain.

- Father, thank You for the new shaft completed that will mean freedom for these men. We pray Your protection over the process, that they will be freed with no loss of life and no glitches in the procedure.

- "He delivers and rescues, and He works signs and wonders in heaven and earth." (Daniel 6:27a)

4. Paladino Defends Anti-Gay Remarks - AP

New York Republican governor candidate stands by his remarks, but says the most controversial line about 'dysfunctional homosexuals' was written by someone else and he refused to say it.

- Lord, we ask that you grant all of the candidates for office Your heart for the lost. May they all know the difference between standing for righteousness and being hateful.

- "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even publicans do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even publicans do the same? Be therefore perfect, as your Father is perfect." (Matthew 5:44,46)

5. Obama Scales Back Finance Criticism After Baseless Lie Claim - Fox News

Obama uses more ambiguous language to describe his claim that Republicans are taking foreign contributions to influence their campaigns after top GOP strategists rip his comments as a 'baseless lie.'

- Father, we bind that spirit of delusion and lies that seems to dwell within this administration. We pray for a Damascus Road experience for our President, and for the scales to be removed from his eyes. We pray that no manipulative statements will prevail against the electorate in America.

- "And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales; and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized." (Acts 9:18)
