The Daily Brief

1. Dispute over New Black Panthers case causes deep divisions - Washington Post

Interviews and government documents reviewed by The Post show that a 2008 incident of alleged voter intimidation in Philadelphia tapped into deep divisions within the Justice Department that persist today over whether the agency should focus on protecting historically oppressed minorities or enforce laws without regard to race. The review also showed that the dispute was politicized from the start.

- Gracious Lord, please intervene for Your children in America who experience unjust oppression, bias and violence. We pray these crimes will come to an end. We pray those who perpetrate these evils will be removed and that the aftermath of these unjust activities will be remedied with Your help. Dearest Lord, may You be glorified and overrule this administration's hatred of America and its people. May any and all violent and terrorist related groups come to an end and may we have Godly leadership, law enforcement organizations and citizenry from this time onward. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen.

- Remember; O Lord, what has come upon us; look, and behold our reproach! Our fathers sinned and are no more, but we bear their iniquities. Servants rule over us; there is none to deliver us from their hand. Turn us back to You, O Lord, and we will be restored; renew our days as of old, unless You have utterly rejected us, and are very angry with us! (Lamentations 5: 1,7,8 21 and 22 NKJV)

2. American Jews Disenchanted with Obama, Democrats - Newsmax

American Jews, among the nation's most reliable liberal voters, are likelier than ever to give Republicans a long hard look in upcoming elections, as enthusiasm wanes for Obama and his Democratic Party. Unless Democrats succeed in rallying under-motivated base voters -- including African Americans, young people and Jewish Americans -- for the November 2 polls, Republicans are given good chances of winning several governors' seats and gaining control of one or both houses of Congress.

- Ask the Father to send the Holy Spirit to minister to the American Jews (secular and God-fearing), so they will vote according to God's principles. Too many times the attitude is "But I always vote Democrat." Ask the Holy Spirit to give them eyes that see [the truth] and ears to hear. They really have no reason to fear the Tea Party candidates and others who espouse traditional American values. Amen.

- "Lord, who shall abide in Thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in Thy holy hill? He that walks uprightly, and works righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart." (Psalm 15: 1,2)

3. American al-Qaida Spokesman Urges Attacks in US - AOL News

CAIRO (Oct. 23) -- A U.S.-born spokesman for al-Qaida on Saturday urged Muslims living in the United States and Europe to carry out attacks there, calling it a duty and an obligation. In a 48-minute video posted on militant websites, Adam Gadahn directed his appeal to Muslim immigrants in what he called the "miserable suburbs" of Paris, London and Detroit, as well as those traveling to the West to study or work.

In response, Dawud Walid, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations' Michigan chapter, called Gadahn's video "a desperate plea for attention" that will be ignored in the Detroit area - home to one of the largest Muslim communities in the U.S. "I see little to no chance of such sentiment taking root in metropolitan Detroit. . . We're not a group of people who feel powerless," Walid said. "If any Muslim community has grown in civic engagement and empowerment, it would be this community. He invoked the wrong population to try and stir up."

- Offer praise for the response by this official of CAIR in Michigan, and pray that all of Gadahn's words will similarly fall on deaf ears. Pray that he will be apprehended and that his voice be silenced; and most importantly, pray for his salvation. Christ's blood was shed for this young, confused and dangerous man.

- "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

4. Cholera outbreak spreads toward Haiti's capital - Fox News

An outbreak of cholera has spread outside a rural valley in central Haiti, intensifying worries the disease could reach squalid tarp camps that house hundreds of thousands of earthquake survivors in the capital. By early Saturday, nearly 200 dead were confirmed dead in the poor Caribbean nation's worst health crisis since the Jan. 12 quake, and authorities said more than 2,000 people were sick.

- Pray for Haiti, calling down this dreadful disease and decreeing that its virulence is neutralized. Ask our Lord to send angels to scrub down the bacteria and to protect the people of Haiti, especially the young children who are so vulnerable to disease. Ask the Lord to make the Haitians aware of the hygiene measures they can take to prevent further spread of the disease.

- "For I will restore health unto you, and I [the Lord] will heal you of your wounds, says the Lord " (Jeremiah 30:17a)

5. Severe drought afflicts Brazilian Amazon - BBC News

The Brazilian government has announced $13.5m in emergency aid for Amazon regions hit by the worst drought in decades. The money will fund water pumping and purification, as well as food deliveries to towns cut off by the drop in river levels. The Brazilian air force has already flown 500 tons of supplies to areas that usually depend on water transport.

- Just as Israel is suffering a severe drought, so too is the Amazon River in Brazil. Is the Lord speaking to the nations of the world through the weather, especially the holding back of rain? Praise the Lord that Brazil has the financial means of helping its people in this area, but also pray for rain to nourish its vegetation. Pray for a spiritual harvest in Brazil so that the nation may know salvation in Jesus Christ.

- "For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day." ( 2 Corinthians 4:16)

6. Iraqi PM criticizes timing of Wikileaks disclosure -BBC

Iraq's prime minister has criticized the timing of the release by Wikileaks of almost 400,000 secret US military documents about the conflict there. Nouri Maliki's office accused it of trying to sabotage his bid to form a new government by making allegations he was linked to Shia death squads. Mr Maliki is struggling to keep his job after inconclusive elections in March.

- Pray for the cessation of these leaks, for they can be devastating to Iraq and the USA. Of course, we want corruption exposed and the perpetrators punished, but do we need the information splashed throughout the world media? Ask the Lord how He would have us pray about these revelations and disclose to us what He would have us to do. Politics and power still seem the dominant goal for Mr. Maliki, but he should have a chance to do what is right for his country. Pray for his salvation in Jesus Christ.

- "He that goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets; therefore, meddle not with him that flatters with his lips." (Proverbs 20:19)

7. Vatican body asks UN to 'end Israeli occupation' - Ynet News

Roman Catholic bishops for the Middle East urged the United Nations Saturday to end the Israeli occupation of "Arab lands" at the end of a meeting chaired by Pope Benedict XVI. In a final statement of their two-week conference, the bishops' synod said the citizens of the Middle East "call upon the international community, particularly the United Nations, conscientiously to work to find a peaceful, just and definitive solution in the region, through the application of the Security Council's resolutions and taking the necessary legal steps to put an end to the occupation of the different Arab territories.

- Has the Vatican been listening to too much replacement theology? Has man's thinking replaced the Scriptures about the land of Israel? The Vatican's statements are totally unacceptable and violate God's covenant with Israel. Pray that many Roman Catholics are reading their Bibles so they see the error of the Vatican concerning Israel, and are not duped by this pronouncement. Why would the Vatican turn to the UN instead of to the Lord? This move smacks of politics; therefore, pray for righteousness to prevail in the Vatican.

- "Exalt her [wisdom], and she shall bring to you honor when you embrace her [wisdom]." (Proverbs 4:8)

8. First Joint Saudi-Egyptian Maneuver Ever, Geared To Iranian Threat - DEBKAfile

Egypt and Saudi Arabia secretly carried out their first ever joint exercise this week with the participation of their special operations, marine, armored, missile, air and naval forces, debkafile's military sources reveal. Exercise Tabuk-2 was programmed to repulse a potential Iranian attack on Saudi Arabia by taking the battle over to Islamic Republican territory. It took place in Egypt's northern desert abutting the Mediterranean Sea where conditions resemble the eastern Saudi Arabian Persian Gulf coast.

- We pray the joint maneuvers between Egyptian and Saudi military forces are to stop Iran and her allies and is not an exercise planned against Israel. You say in Isaiah 19: 24-25 that Egypt, Assyria, and Israel, as a trio of nations, will be blessed. We pray this will happen and Israel will have unexpected allies come to her aid, sent by You.

- In that day Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing on the earth. 25) The LORD Almighty will bless them, saying, "Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria my handiwork, and Israel my inheritance." (Isaiah 19:24,25)

The Daily Jot

Did the president send a message to Islam supporting Sharia-mandated Jihad?

In his June 4, 2009 speech to the Muslim world at Cairo University, the man who occupies the Oval Office told a lot of half truths and no truths in an address designed to set America right with Islam. The Daily Jot has reported on this speech and its content several times. The speech was historical in that it is the first time an American President actually reached out in an effort to placate a terrorist culture. He did so by trying to make the case that Islam is a tolerant religion that respects human rights, has led the world in technology advancements, and by even taking out of context remarks of an American president and using them to indicate American support for Islam, when in fact, he was declaring the opposite.

Further analysis of the speech has left many with the impression that the president was sending an encoded message to Muslims around the world about their ability to practice their so-called "religion" as they see fit. The obvious expressions were made when he said, "Freedom of religion is central to the ability of peoples to live together. We must always examine the ways in which we protect it. For instance, in the United States, rules on charitable giving have made it harder for Muslims to fulfill their religious obligation." But then, there is the code. The president went on to say, "That's why I'm committed to working with American Muslims to ensure that they can fulfill zakat."
The code word here is "zakat." According to several interpretations by Islamic scholars, "zakat" is defined as "A certain fixed proportion of the wealth of a Muslim obligated to be paid yearly as one of the five pillars of Islam. Zakat is the major economic means for establishing social justice and leading the Muslim society to prosperity and security." These sources say there are eight categories of people who receive zakat: the destitute, those who cannot work, those appointed to collect zakat, Islamic converts, an Islamist wishing to free himself from slavery, one who is in debt to meet basic needs, one who is stranded in travel, and one who conducts "Fisabillillah"--one who fights for the cause of allah.

The expert on the linguistic and legal use of the word "Jihad," Cairo University educated Islamic scholar Abdullah Yusuf Azzam states that in Sharia law, the word Fisabillillah is a qualifier for the word "Jihad." Together they mean "sacrificial striving in fighting the infidels." The American president on June 4, 2009 assured Islamists at the bedrock of their fundamentalist teachings that America will ensure that Muslims can fulfill zakat. In this context, the president was speaking of mandatory charitable giving that included Jihad. While there are many meanings to Islamic words and doctrines, this one is clear to anyone who cares to research it. Jesus said in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you."

Leaked memo shows union plan to hijack elections

A memo leaded to the media from AFL-CIO shows the union plan to attempt to hijack the upcoming November elections. The National Right to Work Committee seized the news of the memo in order to alert voters of the campaign to stop union thuggery during elections. According to the internal memo, the big labor unions plan to suspend normal operations in order to undertake a massive national blitz in the run-up to November 2. All normal union operations will be brought to a halt. 2000 national union staff and 3000 local union personnel will be deployed around the country to work . . .

. . . Already reports are coming in about voter fraud and election tampering. In New York, Illinois, North Carolina, and other states, reports have surfaced indicating the illegal failure to send out ballots to military personnel overseas, voting machines that automatically cast a vote for the Democratic candidate, and other shenanigans indicating that Leftwing extremists wish to steal yet another election for Marxists.

Honorable voters can help stop this madness by refusing to be intimidated. Get out and vote no matter what. Report all suspicious behavior to the proper authorities. Volunteer to be a poll-watcher. Citizens do not need to feel forced to endure the illegal, subversive, and bullying tactics of Leftwing operatives in this election. (The Examiner) Read more.
- Pray for a groundswell of support at the polls next Tuesday.

-"Thy people shall volunteer freely in the Day of Thy power." (Psalm 110:3 NASB)

Election Prayers

PRAYER FOR THE CANDIDATES

"Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance." (Ps. 33:12)

INTRODUCTION:

On Tuesday, November 2, 2010, one third of the United States Senate, all of the United States House of Representatives, numerous Governors, and thousand of state and local officials will be either elected or rejected by the American people. It is a crucial time for America! We elect these men and women to take our thoughts, ideas, and feelings to fight for our rights on every level of government. The right selection is absolutely necessary-not only for our livelihood, but for the preservation of the land.

The Congressional races are at the head of the line in importance. It is imperative to turn the tide in this nation. If we don't, we will have lost everything that we have lived for and understood to be the American way of life, which includes our religious freedoms. If the Conservatives take over the House and perhaps, the Senate, the nation will still be under an Executive Branch that is socialistic in nature and very much against the things that We, the Believers hold dear.

The liberal media is doing its best to control the news and the election by spin, defamation of character, lies, insinuations and anything else to stop the conservatives from regaining control of Congress. The past two weeks both sides have done their share of name calling but the liberals have reached into the gutter to defame several candidates. It's an "all's fair in love and war" approach and this is a war for the culture of the nation. If the liberals remain in control of Congress, the basic structure of the nation will be changed.

At this juncture in time, it is more important than ever to concentrate on the Governor's races, as well as the ones who will fill the seats in the State Houses. These men and women must be able to stand up to the administration in Washington and stand for their state's rights.

The midterm election of 2010 will determine who will write the laws of American and who will establish the direction of our nation for our future.

YOUR VOTE AND YOUR PRAYERS ARE CRUCIAL. YOUR CHOICE OF CANDIDATES IS MOST CRITICAL THIS YEAR.

These elected men and women work under tremendous pressure all the time. They have pressure from their constituents, lobbyists, political peers, political opponents, and even their own party. Theirs is not an easy job. Always, there is the opportunity for compromise, kickbacks, and a lowering of their standards.

THEY NEED OUR PRAYERS.

It is imperative that we sincerely pray for every candidate running for office and for our current leaders. Believers should not be campaigning for a person, but for moral restitution in this nation.
