The Daily Brief - Thursday, April 7, 2011

"I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work." (John 9:4)

The Daily Brief

1. Quake shakes northeastern Japan, tsunami warning issued - Reuters

A strong earthquake of magnitude 7.4 shook northeast and eastern Japan late on Thursday, and a tsunami warning was issued for the northeastern coast of Japan, an area badly hit by the March 11 earthquake.

- God, we cry out for the entire country of Japan to fall on their knees and pray with open hearts that the Holy God will intervene and save their souls from sin and destruction. They are in a life and death struggle and it is time for deep repentance and turning away from that which has taken the place of God in their lives. Send the Holy Spirit to hover over them and draw their hearts to Jesus to save them. In Jesus Name.

- "That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:9-10)

2. 9 Atlantic hurricanes forecast in busier-than-average season - USA Today

The Atlantic basin is facing a busier-than-average hurricane season, in part because of unusually warm water in the ocean, according to a seasonal hurricane forecast released Wednesday morning.

- Father, we ask that the United States be spared from being hit with the crashing waves of a hurricane. God, send forth the Holy Spirit to deal with the hearts of men to repent of sin and cry out to the Lord to save their souls through the blood of Jesus which He shed on the Cross. Salvation of souls from wickedness is God's delight and He does protect His people. In Jesus Name.

- "But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth His hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O you of little faith, wherefore did you doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased." (Matthew 14:30-32)

3. U.S. official: Frozen Libya assets exceed $34 billion EDT - Reuters

Libyan assets frozen by the United States as part of sanctions against Muammar Gaddafi and his top officials have now risen to more than $34 billion, the Treasury's top official for sanctions, anti-terrorism and money laundering said on Thursday.

- God, strengthen and bless the United States for their stand against this man, his top officials and the propagators of evil that has captivated the entire nation of Libya. Father, break this evil power and close down their source that has drained this country and its people. Bring godly restoration to them as they call out to God in repentance by the power of the blood of Jesus Christ. In Jesus Name.

- God says, "Yet I have left Me seven thousand in (Libya), all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal (Gaddafi), and every mouth which has not kissed him." (I Kings 19:18)

4. Top US senator warns gov't shutdown coming - AFP

Obama's top ally in the US Senate warned Thursday that talks on spending cuts were stalled on issues tied to abortion and the environment and that the US government seemed set to shutdown at midnight Friday.

- Father, we ask that an agreement can be reached concerning issues that will set off this shutdown. Bring your council and wisdom to these sessions. Bring prayer to these sessions! In Jesus Name.

- We intercede in behalf of these men in authority, that we may pass a quiet and undisturbed life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, (1 Timothy 2:2-3)

5. NBC's Brokaw: Saudis 'So Unhappy' With Obama They Sent Emissaries to China, Russia Seeking Enhanced - CNS News

Defense Chief Is on Mission to Mend Saudi Relations - NY Times

After a rebuff last month from King Abdullah, Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates met privately with him for an hour and a half on Wednesday in an attempt to thaw ice-cold relations between Saudi Arabia and the United States.

- Father, we intercede on behalf of this current administration and our country. Protect our country from going down a dangerous road. The paths that are being taken are those of caution and uncertainty. Bring wisdom filled leaders to council our officials. You turn the heart of the king; so we pray you turn the heart of this administration to You.

- The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes. (Proverbs 21:1)

The dire prophetic actions of the American president

On April 5, the man who occupies the Oval Office met with the oft leftist president of Israel Shimon Peres. The two had a "peace-fest" at the White House. The US president said, "That with the winds of change blowing through the Arab world, it's more urgent than ever that we try to seize the opportunity to create a peaceful solution between the Palestinians and the Israelis." Certainly, Israel has been pressured by the United States in ways that have not been done before to make peace with the terrorists who call themselves "Palestinians." In fact, the Middle East, with the help of the United States, in particular this White House, is becoming increasingly radicalized.

This has tremendous prophetic overtones. The traditional lands of the Bible, those now Islamic Arab nations God himself has said through the Bible that he will judge in the latter days, are all experiencing a shaking, a political unrest. In each case there is the common thread of America's new partner--the terrorist sponsoring Muslim Brotherhood. On March 31, State Department Analyst Lazlo Toth told FOX News, "It took time for us to convince some of the 'Old Guard' inside our intel agencies that we have no long-term quarrel with the Brothers, but this administration has been unrelenting about this, making a number of transfers and forced retirements in order to clear away irrational opposition to our new approach."

It is nearly inconceivable that a US president would assist traditional enemies of America and her greatest ally. But this president is. For all the talk about being a Christian and a supporter of Israel, the actions do not match up. The actions of this president are decisively Islamic, undoubtedly against America in every aspect of his Administration. A peace deal as it is on the table would split Israel into two pieces, divide the land. These peaceful "Palestinians" hurl hundreds of rockets into Israel today. They elected the terrorist group Hamas to represent their interests. Gaza, the first opportunity for Palestinians to live side by side with Israel in peace, has been a staging ground for killing Jews.

For the US president to use unrest as an urgent reason to create peace between Israel and the Palestinians is tantamount to establishing an exponentially hostile environment for Israel. A Palestinian state would only divide the land of Israel and give the terrorists a secure staging ground for more attacks. Daniel 11:39 gives us insight into the theology of the antichrist--the White House's true Middle East doctrine--"Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain." I am not saying the president is the antichrist, but he is doing the bidding of the antichrist. Woe is America for going along with it.
