The Daily Brief - Wednesday, November 16, 2011

"For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock." (Psalm 27:5 )

The Daily Brief

1. A Huge Drought Is Pushing Food Prices Even Higher - Business Insider

A drought affecting one-third of the lower 48 states has hurt several key food crops, driving up prices this year and assuring widespread food inflation well into 2012.

- LORD, we know through Your Word it is because of our sin this is occurring on our lands. The drought has turned our fertile farmlands to utterly parched ground, and the lack of rain dried cattle grazing pastures to dust. God, give us understanding this situation is a divine call to repentance - before the situation grows even worse. We stand in the gap for our nation and repent to You of our grievous sins! We ask for Your mercy and grace upon us; that we as the Church and nation, would honor and esteem You as God and Creator.

- "When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because Your people have sinned against you, and when they pray toward this place and give praise to Your name and turn from their sin because You have afflicted them, then hear from heaven and forgive the sin of your servants, your people Israel. Teach them the right way to live, and send rain on the land You gave Your people for an inheritance. " (1 Kings 8:35,36)

2. Occupy Wall Street: judge backs mayor Michael Bloomberg's move to evict camp - UK Telegraph

Occupy Wall Street, the New York protest camp that inspired anti-capitalist demonstrations across the world, has been demolished after protesters were evicted by police.

- Heavenly Father, we have prayed many times in the past weeks concerning this lawless movement. We thank You for hearing our prayers as the New York Supreme Court judge upheld the "protesters" eviction from Manhattan's Zuccotti Park. We thank You for Mayor Bloomberg's words, "with every right comes responsibilities." We ask You to disassemble those who are participating in these gatherings filled with vile acts and arrogance. May their rallying cry that they "represent the 99 percent" be plainly revealed as fallacious. Protect and guide those who enforce the law.

- "Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed are those who heed wisdom's instruction. " "When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is joyful." (Proverbs 29:18)(TNIV)

3. Massive chaos, gridlock to be unleashed on NYC - WorldNetDaily

Watch out New York City. The Occupy anti-capitalist movement is preparing to serve a three-course meal of so-called direct action that apparently includes the blocking of subways and bridges as well as shutting down the stock market. The attempt to cause mass chaos, slated for Thursday, is tied to the Tides Center, the George Soros-financed group that funds far-left causes. Tides grantees have been helping to direct Occupy from the onset of the anti-Wall Street movement.

- LORD, in the mighty Name of Jesus, we ask You to intervene and bring these terrible plans to nothing! Protect those who love You in this city. Give courage to leaders to do the right thing with these renegades.

- "Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised." (Psalm 10:2)

4. U.S. reserves right to meet cyber attack with force - Reuters

The United States reserves the right to retaliate with military force against a cyber attack and is working to sharpen its ability to track down the source of any breach, the Pentagon said in a report made public on Tuesday. The 12-page report to Congress, mandated by the 2011 Defense Authorization Act, was one of the clearest statements to date of U.S. cybersecurity policy and the role of the military in the event of a computer-borne attack.

- LORD, we thank you that our military leadership is aggressively addressing this dangerous threat to our country. In light of the particularly challenging characteristics of these attacks - due to the anonymous nature of the Internet, we pray that You reveal new methods to quickly identify the source of any attack! With the Pentagon's cybersecurity policy designating cyberspace as an "operational domain" (like land, sea, air) where U.S. forces will actually be trained to conduct offensive and defensive operations; Lord, we pray that You pour out on us superior wisdom and skills that will expose and confound our enemies.

- "Obey therefore and do them (God's instructions), for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people." (Dt. 4:6)

5. Calif. University Introduces First U.S. Multi-Faith School of Theology - WordPress

Claremont Lincoln University, a graduate school in California, is the first in the United States to bring together Christians, Jews and Muslims in the same classrooms to educate the future leaders of churches, synagogues and mosques. Special correspondent Saul Gonzalez reports.

- Lord, let those who compromise the Truth as You have revealed it in Your Word through Jesus Christ, not prosper. May such works as these, as well as those who are brazenly attempting to form the new religion of "Chrislam," progress no further. Lord, may the Body of Christ arise from its slumber and preach the everlasting uncompromised Gospel in Spirit and in Truth.

- " but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all" (2 Timothy 3:9) " Jesus said, ' I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.' "(John 14:6)

Russia, China, Iran, US--a steady diet of lies and deception

The man who occupies the Oval Office says that Russia, China and America all agree on the objective that Iran should not have nuclear weapons. He told reporters at the Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in Hawaii, "So what I did was to speak with President Medvedev, as well as President Hu, and all three of us entirely agree on the objective, which is making sure that Iran does not weaponize nuclear power and that we don't trigger a nuclear arms race in the region. That's in the interests of all of us.... And so we're going to keep on pushing on that. And China and Russia have the same aims, the same objectives, and I believe that we'll continue to cooperate and collaborate closely on that issue."

The president's remarks reflect delusion. China, Russia and the US have never been on the same page regarding Iran. Jesus said in Matthew 7:15, 16, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits." The leaders of China and Russia are not religious prophets, but the same warning can apply. China and Russia have opposed nearly every United Nations Security Council effort to stop the Iranian nuclear program, settling for lesser actions called "sanctions" that have proven not to work. Notwithstanding a dismal track record, the president believes that sanctions will curtail Iran's nuclear weaponization.
He said, "In terms of how we move forward, we will be consulting with them carefully over the next several weeks to look at what other options we have available to us. The sanctions have enormous bite and enormous scope, and we're building off the platform that has already been established. The question is, are there additional measures that we can take. And we're going to explore every avenue to see if we can solve this issue diplomatically." These sanctions have not worked because Russia and China are suppliers to Iran of materials and expertise for both the nuclear weaponization and the missile technology to deliver these weapons into the heart of Israel. Iran is paying Russia and China handsomely for the help.

The president even said in his remarks that the Arab Spring revolutions--spearheaded by the terrorist sponsoring Muslim Brotherhood and assisted by the US--has reduced Iran's influence in the region. To the contrary, Iran is applauding these efforts because a more radical Islam is being established in the place of the deposed governments. The American people are being fed a false diet of lies and subterfuge regarding Russia, China, the Middle East and America's role in the region. It is a steady diet of deception for Americans and a banquet meal for the antichrist policies of the end times. We as Christians are not instructed to just give up and allow this to happen. We must choose who we serve--For me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Breakthrough: Israel is Developing Cancer Vaccine

Vaxil's groundbreaking therapeutic vaccine, developed in Israel, could keep about 90 percent of cancers from coming back.

As the world's population lives longer than ever, if we don't succumb to heart disease, strokes or accidents, it is more likely that cancer will get us one way or another. Cancer is tough to fight, as the body learns how to outsmart medical approaches that often kill normal cells while targeting the malignant ones.

In a breakthrough development, the Israeli company Vaxil BioTherapeutics has formulated a therapeutic cancer vaccine, now in clinical trials at Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem. If all goes well, the vaccine could be available about six years down the road, to administer on a regular basis not only to help treat cancer but in order to keep the disease from recurring.

The vaccine is being tested against a type of blood cancer called multiple myeloma. If the substance works as hoped - and it looks like all arrows are pointing that way - its platform technology VaxHit could be applied to 90 percent of all known cancers, including prostate and breast cancer, solid and non-solid tumors.

"In cancer, the body knows something is not quite right but the immune system doesn't know how to protect itself against the tumor like it does against an infection or virus. This is because cancer cells are the body's own cells gone wrong," says Julian Levy, the company's CFO. "Coupled with that, a cancer patient has a depressed immune system, caused both by the illness and by the treatment."

The trick is to activate a compromised immune system to mobilize against the threat. (United With Israel) Read more.
