2. Iran presses ahead with dollar attack - UK Telegraph

We are praying for the end times harvest of souls to turn to You and that they would ask You for their provision. We are praying for that reconciliation between God and people through Jesus, our Savior and Provider, in whose name we pray. Amen.

"Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask."

- Lord, please give our people discernment to see and to know when lies and deception are operating. Let the Holy Spirit of Truth arise. We pray for Godly wisdom and discernment as our leaders deal with budget issues. In an election year we pray for more Godly leaders to be placed into office who will make decisions led by the Holy Spirit. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

- "And a wise man's heart discerns both time and judgement."
(Ecclesiastes 8:5)

4. New Jersey Senate approves gay marriage - Washington Times

In a move that supporters called a civil rights milestone, New Jersey's state Senate on Monday passed a bill to recognize same-sex marriages, marking the first time state lawmakers officially endorsed the idea - despite the promise of a veto by Gov. Chris Christie.

- Lord, we thank you for Gov. Christie and his promise to veto recognition of same-sex marriage. We pray blessings for him and all those in New Jersey who are standing for marriage between a man and woman. May this bill be defeated and the Governor's stand help awaken this country and other Governors on the gay marriage issue so that Your hand will not be against us. May Your word and righteousness arise. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

- "Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel: Because you despise this word, and trust in oppression and perversity, and rely on them, Therefore this iniquity shall be to you like a breach ready to fall, a bulge in a high wall, whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant."

Justice Stephen Breyer was robbed last week by a machete-wielding intruder at his vacation home in the West Indies, a Supreme Court spokeswoman said Monday. The 73-year-old Breyer, wife Joanna and guests were confronted by the robber around 9 p.m. EST Thursday in the home Breyer owns on the Caribbean island of Nevis, spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said. "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end." (Rev. 22:13)

The Daily Jot

The Social Norm and how far we have strayed

As America celebrates Valentine's Day, it might be good to just take an inventory of where we are as a nation regarding our love relationships. On the eve of Cupid's great day, Yahoo Sports' Cameron Smith reports that a long time high football coach in Maine resigned from his position for posting naked photos of himself on Facebook. The photos, he reports, were intended for the private showing to the coach's girlfriend, but somehow the coach mistakenly posted them on his public Facebook page. The reporter used the example to warn folks to be careful how they are posting personal items on the internet, entirely missing the point that the coach's leadership role to young people was compromised.

As leaders of young men and women, coaches and teachers ought to have a special calling. They are examples to the young, impressionable minds they shape not only by what they say, but especially by what they do. That society has accepted as a matter of practice that unmarried couples who are dating are also practicing what was once held sacred for only those who are married, says a lot. But then again, the leader of the United States, who claims often that he is Christian, justifies abortion by saying we need to ensure that "our daughters have the same rights, freedoms, and opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams."

Leaders have compromised the morality of America. Many are promoting same-sex marriage. The man who occupies the Oval Office has said on numerous occasions that he will not enforce the Defense of Marriage Act, which states that marriage is only between a man and a woman. This position of believing that men can have marital status with other men and women can have it with other women is morally wrong and illegal. Not enforcing the law and the Constitution is an impeachable offense. But society has accepted homosexuality to the point that parents have allowed it to be taught as normal in their local schools. By that measure, the coach's public nude pictures pale in comparison.

Have A Blessed And Powerful Day,
Bill Wilson

Israelis Targeted Worldwide

Israeli diplomats were the targets of assassination attempts in New Delhi, India, and Tbilisi, Georgia, yesterday. The car-bombing in India injured four people. Thankfully, the device used in Georgia failed to explode.

This morning brought news of a series of bomb blasts in Thailand. Two Iranians are in custody, including the bomber, who lost both his legs when one attack went awry. Police are searching for a third accomplice.

The Israeli government is blaming the Islamic regime in Tehran and its terrorist proxy, Hezbollah, for these attacks. Defense Minister Ehud Barak said, "We know who carried out the terror attacks, we know who sent them, and Israel will settle the score with them." (Gary Bauer)

The Compromise/Cave-In

By now you have probably heard that House Republican leaders have agreed to renew the payroll tax cut without coming up with a way to pay for it now. They accepted this compromise with the White House because they could find no other way to avoid an economic growth-killing tax increase.

While House Republicans wanted to cut spending, Obama and Senate Democrats wanted to raise taxes on entrepreneurs and small businesses. Sadly, the polls show Obama has been winning this debate, and the House GOP leadership didn't want to fight on this ground again.

I can understand why they reached that conclusion. But I suspect they also felt that they would get credit from the media for compromising with Obama. After all, the media have been labeling the GOP "obstructionist" for months. Well, guess what? Every news story today is about how the GOP got rolled by Obama and surrendered.

News flash to our friends on Capitol Hill: You are going to be labeled either "obstructionists" or "cowards." Pick your battles and your retreats carefully. (Gary Bauer)

. . . Higher Taxes

In Lew of Restraint: Higher Taxes

The 97-0 thumping that Obamat's budget took last May was humbling but apparently not instructive. Today, the White House released another draft for fiscal year 2013, and many of the same problems exist. On top of a trillion dollars in stimulus-like spending, the President's "solutions" are a repeat of last year's criticisms: higher taxes, shady accounting, and more government projects the country can't afford. Among other things, the White House wants to raise taxes by $1.5 trillion (the largest increase in U.S. history), slash the military's already anorexic budget, and commit even more money to transportation projects and foreign aid. "There's pretty broad agreement that the time for austerity is not today," Chief of Staff Jack Lew told reporters Sunday. (Gary Bauer)

Boy, is that the understatement of the year! Despite promising to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term, President Obama's 10-year deficit reduction plan is less than the total projected deficit for 2011 alone! While Greece is literally burning to the ground, the administration is giddily racking up more debt, blind to where this out-of-control spending leads. Apparently, the President believes birth control isn't the only thing that Americans can get for "free." He offered a $3.8 trillion budget, assuming that projects will just materialize on someone else's dime. President Obama says the plan will help keep the country on track--and he's right. Under this budget, America is right on track for more debt and more economic decline. What our country really needs to do is get off this road and embark on a new path of reduced spending and limited government! (Family Research Council)

Tribute to Whitney Houston

"I Look To You" - In Tribute To Whitney Houston

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

In this song, Whitney Houston clearly demonstrates that she knew the truth of this Word, and was trying to walk it out in her life.

Let this song become a place of worship in our own hearts this evening, as we remember the life of one of His fallen lambs. Amen.

The world knew Whitney, too! Witness this awesome tribute from the nation of Dubai. Amazing!

"What Wonderous Love is This"

by Steve Green

What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this
That caused the Lord of bliss
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul, for my soul,
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul!
When I was sinking down, sinking down, sinking down,
When I was sinking down, sinking down,
When I was sinking down
Beneath God's righteous frown,
Christ laid aside His crown for my soul for my soul,
Christ laid aside His crown for my soul.
To God and to the Lamb I will sing, I will sing;
To God and to the Lamb I will sing;
To God and to the Lamb,
Who is the great I AM,
While millions join the theme, I will sing, I will sing,
While millions join the theme, I will sing.
And when from death I'm free, I'll sing on, I'll sing on;
And when from death I'm free, I'll sing on.
And when from death I'm free
I'll sing His love for me,
And through eternity I'll sing on, I'll sing on,
And through eternity I'll sing on.
