The Daily Brief - Tuesday, March 20, 2012

"Go, my people, enter your rooms and shut the doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until his wrath has passed by." (Isaiah 26:20)

1. NSA Is Building the Country's Biggest Spy Center - Wired News

Under construction by contractors with top-secret clearances, the blandly named Utah Data Center is being built for the National Security Agency. A project of immense secrecy, it is the final piece in a complex puzzle assembled over the past decade. Its purpose: to intercept, decipher, analyze, and store vast swaths of the world's communications as they zap down from satellites and zip through the underground and undersea cables of international, foreign, and domestic networks.

- Lord, we pray this spy center be used for good and not for evil. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

- The eyes of the Lord are in every place, Keeping watch on the evil and the good.
(Proverbs 15:3)

2. Eric Holder: We Need To "Brainwash" People Into Disliking Guns
- Real Clear Politics

"What we need to do is change the way in which people think about guns, especially young people, and make it something that's not cool, that it's not acceptable, it's not hip to carry a gun anymore, in the way in which we changed our attitudes about cigarettes."

- Lord, we ask for an awakening to what Eric Holder is doing. Deliver us from deception and evil. Please give understanding to the hearts of the people. We pray for Eric Holder that the eyes of his heart would be enlightened. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen

- Who has put wisdom in the mind? Or who has given understanding in the heart? (Job 38:36)

3. Study: State governments at high risk for corruption - Fox News

State governments lack transparency and accountability to citizens, and remain at high risk for corruption, according to a new study of all 50 statehouses.

- Lord, we pray that corruption be exposed, and knowledge of the truth come to all. Send the Holy Spirit to give people the truth. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

- Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was. (2 Timothy 3:8)

4. Obama's Executive Order Authorizes Peacetime Martial Law - The New American
Obama issued an Executive Order on March 16 giving the White House absolute control over all the country's natural resources in case of a natural disaster or during a time of war.

- Lord, deliver us from evil and give us godly leaders. Give us leaders who will reverse dangerous and wrong Executive orders. Let Your kingdom come to the United States of America. In the name of Jesus, our King and Savior, we ask. Amen.

- When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. (Luke 11:2-4)

5. Russian Anti-Terror Troops Arrive in Syria - ABC News

A Russian military unit has arrived in Syria, according to Russian news reports, a development that a United Nations Security Council source told ABC News was "a bomb" certain to have serious repercussions.

- Lord, the purpose of the Russian military unit in Syria is not entirely known. Reveal any hidden agendas regarding this matter. Foil any plans that Russia has in place to defy the United States. In Jesus Name.

- but the God in Whose hand your breath is and Whose are all your ways you have not honored and glorified (but have dishonored and disgraced).(Daniel 5: 23b)

6. SWIFT reaction: Iran 'will retaliate', closing Hormuz Strait - RT

Tehran's threats to block the Strait of Hormuz in response to sanctions are not mere words, warned Iran's senior spokesman on sanctions. As long as the West ignores international law to promote its interests, Iran will retaliate, he said.

- Lord, we continue to ask for a diplomatic solution to this situation. As war seems to be on the horizon; we know that suddenly all can change. We trust that You are in control, and have all these events in Your hand.

- Look to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other. (Isaiah 45:22)

Comparing Reagan and Clinton: Why BO's EO is tyrannical

Political pundits downplaying as routine the March 16 presidential National Defense Resources Preparedness Executive Order (EO) would find that it is anything but routine when compared with similar EOs issued by Presidents Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton. The man who occupies the Oval Office is decidedly more authoritative than his predecessors in all aspects of his defense preparedness EO. For example, Reagan mentioned authority or authorities only 20 times. Clinton mentioned the two words 25 times. The current White House occupier mentions authority or authorities 62 times. Neither Clinton nor Reagan called for nationalization of America's industry and resources as does the current White House occupier.

Reagan's EO issued on November 18, 1988 calls for the development of plans over 100 times to be ready for a national emergency. He sites the purpose for the EO as "The policy of the United States is to have sufficient capabilities at all levels of government to meet essential defense and civilian needs during any national security emergency." Both the current occupier and Clinton's stated purpose on June 3, 1994 were the same: "The United States must have an industrial and technology base capable of meeting national defense requirements, and capable of contributing to the technological superiority of its defense equipment in peacetime and in times of national emergency."

As an example of differences, Reagan ordered plans be developed for the use of water in agricultural production and food processing and provision of resources for farmers during a national security emergency. Clinton relied on the Defense Production Act of 1950 for these provisions. The current president orders government control over all aspects of this industry (and others) by authorizing cabinet secretaries, in this case, the Agriculture Secretary to "allocate materials, services and facilities as deemed necessary with respect to food resources, food resource facilities, livestock resources, veterinary resources, plant health resources, and the domestic distribution of farm equipment and commercial fertilizer."

Reagan's focus was to assist American citizens in the time of a national security emergency--food distribution, provision of health and medical services, transportation, effective use of the civilian workforce, and to "avoid or minimize disruptions of essential services." Clinton, while slightly more intrusive focused on "adequate industrial resources and production capability." The current president focusses on authoritative government control over natural and industrial resources, commercial and agricultural facilities, food and water, with virtually no mention of services to the citizens in time of a national security emergency. This is a power grab of historic magnitude. Yeshua said in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you." Please do not take the word of analysts and pundits, but read it for yourself with understanding.

COMMENTARY FROM LAURA DENSMORE, EDITOR, HEBREW NATION NEWS:

So, what do we have here? How does this ADD UP?

Let's look at the TIMELINE and SEQUENCE OF EVENTS to see how they might be RELATED TO EACH OTHER.

A bill to impeach the man who occupies the Oval was introduced just last week. Within DAYS of that move look at what has happened:

a . 3/8/12: The signing of the Antiprotest Trespass Bill Only days after clearing Congress, US President Barack Obama signed his name to H.R. 347 on Thursday, officially making it a federal offense to cause a disturbance at certain political events - essentially criminalizing protest in the States. (Read more)

b. 3/11/12: Obama Impeachment Bill Now In Congress

Rep. Walter B. Jones Jr., R-N.C., has introduced a resolution (H.R. 107) declaring that should the president use offensive military force without authorization of an act of Congress, "it is the sense of Congress" that such an act would be "an impeachable high crime and misdemeanor." Specifically, Article I, Section 8, of the Constitution reserves for Congress alone the power to declare war, a restriction that has been sorely tested in recent years, including Obama's authorization of military force in Libya. (Read more)

c. 3/13/12: Announcing the Creation of FEMA Corps On March 13, 2012, the White House announced an innovative partnership between the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) to establish a FEMA-devoted unit of 1,600 service corps members within AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) solely devoted to disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. This partnership builds on the historic collaboration between the two agencies and will enhance the federal government's disaster capabilities, increase the reliability and diversity of the disaster workforce, promote an ethic of service, expand education and economic opportunity for young people, and achieve significant cost savings for the American taxpayer. When the program is at full operational capability, and in an average disaster year, we expect to see a savings of approximately $60 million in a year. (Read more)

CONCLUSION: IT IS TIME TO FAST AND TO PRAY. May God yet spare His people, and may His perfect will be done to bring forth the destiny of the United States of America!

We decree that the principalities and powers seeking to control our government MUST bow to the authority of JESUS CHRIST, the King of kings and Lord of lords. (Philippians 2:9) We execute the written judgment against them and declare that the Blood of Jesus, the Lamb of God, has already put them to open shame triumphing over them from the cross, and that the Blood continues to prevail against them. (Colossians 2:15)

We speak to the gates of our nation saying: "Lift up your heads O ye gates - and be lifted up ye everlasting doors - that the KING OF GLORY may come in - the LORD strong and Mighty - the LORD mighty in battle!" (Psalm 24:7-10).

We welcome You, LORD OF HOSTS, to come and take Your stand! -- The heavens are Yours and the earth also and all those who dwell therein (Psalm 24:1-3)

We welcome You, KING OF GLORY! -- Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne. (Psalm 89:11 & 14) Establish the dominion of Your throne over our nation, that we may we fulfill our destiny as a nation in Christ written in heaven before the world began. May Your Kingdom come and Your will be done! -- in the Mighty Name of Jesus and for His glory!

Is ObamaCare Key To Victory?

ObamaCare turns two this Friday. You would think the White House would be celebrating. There is no denying that it's Hussein Obama's signature accomplishment. Healthcare "reform" was the Democrats' "holy grail," a goal decades in the making. But it has cost them.

After HillaryCare failed to pass, Democrats lost the House of Representatives in the historic 1994 election. When ObamaCare passed, Democrats again lost the House in the historic 2010 election. And the law's continued unpopularity may well cost them the White House in 2012.
For example, according to the latest Rasmussen poll, 56% of likely voters favor repealing ObamaCare. Last month, a Gallup poll found that 72% of Americans, including 56% of Democrats, believe ObamaCare's individual mandate is unconstitutional. With numbers like that, ObamaCare will be an albatross around Barack Obama's neck as he seeks reelection. (Gary Bauer; Excerpt)

 Domestic Violence Bill

In Domestic Violence Bill, Battery Not Included

How naive does the Left think women are? Very, if their latest campaign strategy is any indication. The real architects behind the "war on women" are moving on to the second phase of their battle. The objective? Painting Republicans as a party of sexist Neanderthals. Fortunately, most female voters are smarter than Senate Democrats, and they recognize the push for the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) for what it is: a cheap political trick. First off, let me say that as a former police officer, I understand firsthand the crisis of domestic violence. You don't have to be in law enforcement to recognize how dangerous these situations are for the families involved. Every decent person wants to end abuse. In this case, though, Democrats aren't trying to protect women--they're trying to protect their jobs.

Instead of asking senators to reauthorize the original legislation, which cruised through Congress with bipartisan support, Sens. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) intentionally loaded the bill with provisions the GOP cannot support--like loopholes for immigration, millions more in spending, special homosexual protections, and more big government bureaucracy. Their goal was to make the legislation so objectionable that Republicans would be forced to oppose it and fuel the lie that the GOP is anti-woman. "If we had just a straight reauthorization, it would pass 100 percent," Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said. (Family Research Council) Read more.

Fellow conservatives,

This is going to be a busy week on Capitol Hill. Both the House and Senate have full schedules and are trying to jam through several bills before the Easter break. The fact that it is unclear whether Republicans will block such bad proposals underscores the reason why we need to elect a new crop of conservatives this year.

For Liberty,
The Honorable Jim Ryun
Chairman of the Madison Project

FY 2013 Budget Resolution:

Even though fiscal year 2013 doesn't begin until October1, the budget season has already begun to heat up. On Tuesday, Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan will unveil the important details of his budget resolution. The following day, the Budget Committee will officially mark up the plan and turn it into a formal concurrent resolution. The full House will vote on it the following week. The budget resolution should contain a worthy blueprint for fiscal reform, but there are some things conservatives should watch:

Discretionary Spending Cap: The good news is that Ryan is likely to set topline discretionary spending at $1.028 trillion, in line with last year's budget instead of the $1.047 trillion figure prescribed in the Budget Control Act. However, on January 1, there will be an automatic sequester of $97 billion, of which $55 billion will be taken from the military. Our hope is that the Ryan budget will parry those cuts away from the military and onto the other unconstitutional, destructive parts of government. As we argued last week, the best way to avoid the irresponsible across-the-board sequester cuts is to build in the $97 billion in cuts from the beginning of the fiscal year. Ryan should pass a budget at $931 billion ($1.028 trillion-$97 billion), and dictate specific areas to cut.

Medicare: Last year, Ryan introduced a meritorious premium support plan that would end the complete government-run system for seniors and open up Medicare to the freemarket. It looks like he plans to modify that plan with Ryan-Wyden, a proposal that keeps traditional fee-for-service Medicare as an option within the premium support system. This plan will severely limit the effectiveness of the premium support plan, mitigate the cost savings, and encumber the free-market. Conservatives should push for Ryan's original Medicare reform plan. However, even if Ryan proposes good reforms on the mandatory spending side, we must not let them use sweeping entitlement reforms in the future to win support for current discretionary spending that is too high [see previous bullet point]. The discretionary spending is for this year; the entitlement reforms are in the future, and unfortunately, unlikely to pass.

Balanced Budget: As transformational as Ryan's FY 2012 budget was, it failed to balance the budget for another 25 years! That is unacceptable. The Republican Study Committee has a plan to balance the budget in 8 years, while Rand Paul has a plan to balance it in 5 years. We must see some improvement in the bottom line spending figures.

Obama's Anti-Israel Faith Advisor

Most Americans have never heard of Dalia Mogahed. She is Executive Director of and Senior Analyst for the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies. In 2009 Barack Obama appointed her to his Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, previously known as the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. Mogahed is making headlines not for her scholarly research, but for a Tweet she sent on March 10:

"To those siding w/Assad: he cannot deliver stability, protection of minorities, or resistance to Israel. He is a killer w/o legitimacy."

So just to be clear, Obama's faith advisor wants Bashar al-Assad gone in part because he is insufficiently anti-Israel. She wants the civil war in Syria to end so that a new government can get around to more important things like delivering more "resistance to Israel."

Of course, this raises questions about what kind of advice Mogahed gave on the president's Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships council and why Obama appointed her in the first place. (Gary Bauer)

The Good News Corner:

Breakthrough in Stem Cell Research

When it comes to treating heart disease, adult stem cells don't miss a beat! Some of the most exciting news came yesterday, when doctors announced that they had successfully grown a new blood vessel in the chest of four-year-old Angelia Irizarry. It's part of a groundbreaking new therapy for people born with only one pumping heart chamber. The Wall Street Journal interviewed doctors from Yale who compared it to starfish regrowing body parts. "We're making a blood vessel where there wasn't one," says Dr. Christopher Breuer, who led the team's 12-hour surgery. "We're inducing regeneration." As with other adult stem cell procedures, this one harvested the stem cells from Angela's bone marrow. Doctors seeded those cells on a mesh-like tube that dissolves over time, leaving Angela with a fully functioning blood vessel.
The accomplishment is no surprise to most scientists, who have watched adult stem cells blow away their embryonic competition, treating patients for well over 70 different conditions while embryonic trials fail to produce a single human success story. Adult stem cells are helping people right now. Hear the real-life testimonies of other patients on FRC's special website, Adult Stem Cells Saved My Life, and watch the miracles unfold in people with multiple sclerosis, leukemia, Parkinson's disease, spinal cord injuries, sickle cell disease, and more.
