The Daily Brief - Tuesday, July 10, 2012

"For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall you be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength . . ." (Isaiah 30:15)

The Daily Brief

1. Can IRS police both taxes and health care law? - AP News

Can the Internal Revenue Service police President Barack Obama's health care mandate while simultaneously collecting all the taxes for running the federal government? The question is being renewed in the wake of the Supreme Court's decision upholding most of the 2010 Affordable Care Act as a tax issue rather than one of interstate commerce.

- Lord, we pray for eyes to be opened on what is really happening here with Obama's health care. Lord, we have prayed, and continue to pray, that this health care mandate be stopped to prevent the people of this country falling into a ditch of its own digging because of spiritual blindness. We pray for the IRS in their decision if and how to handle this "tax". Let people see with Your eyes we pray. In the name of Jesus, the Way, the Truth, and the Life, we pray. Amen.

- Can the blind lead the blind? Will they both not fall into the ditch? (Luke 6:39)

2. U.N. Agreement Should Have All Gun Owners Up In Arms - Forbes

Under the guise of a proposed global "Small Arms Treaty" premised to fight "terrorism", "insurgency" and "international crime syndicates" you can be quite certain that an even more insidious threat is being targeted - our Constitutional right for law-abiding citizens to own and bear arms - What, exactly, does the intended agreement entail? - Enact tougher licensing requirements, creating additional bureaucratic red tape for legal firearms ownership.

- Lord, we pray for ears to be opened to hear the fire arms call of the Holy Spirit. We believe our country was founded on godly principles as stated in our Constitution. We pray that our rights be protected, specifically in this case from the "Small Arms Treaty". Some reports say President Obama is scheduled to sign it this month. Lord, we pray for our President that he would make the right decision, and for any other leaders working on this United Nations treaty. In the name of Jesus, our defender, we pray. Amen.

- But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently, and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great. (Luke 6:49)

3. Obama invites Egypt's Islamist leader to U.S. - Reuters

President Barack Obama has invited Egypt's newly elected Islamist president, Mohamed Mursi, to visit the United States in September - reflecting the new ties Washington is cultivating with the region's Islamists. Washington - shifted policy last year to open formal contacts with the Muslim Brotherhood, the group behind Mursi's win. Mursi formally resigned from the group after his victory.

- Lord, please protect us from opening further doors to Islamic spirits by this visit, and increased cultivation with them. Lord, we pray for Mursi that he would break from the Muslim Brotherhood spiritually, as he has reportedly done "formally." We pray for godly relationships with Egypt - and other world leaders. Lord, help us to close doors that have already been opened in this country with the Islamists. We pray salvation for those that will come to the true God and Messiah, Jesus. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

- Arise and depart, For this is not your rest; Because it is defiled, it shall destroy, Yes, with utter destruction. If a man should walk in a false spirit (Micah 2:10-11)

4. Six U.S. Troops Killed in Eastern Afghanistan Blast - Yahoo

Six American troops were killed in a roadside blast today in eastern Afghanistan, a U.S. official told ABC News. Details about the deadly incident remain vague. Earlier today, a press release by NATO's International Security Assistance Force said six ISAF servicemembers "died following an improvised explosive device attack in eastern Afghanistan today."

- Lord, we pray for the families of the troops killed. Please send the Holy Spirit Comforter to them. Bring people who can minister to them. Let faith arise in the troops and their families. We pray continually for protection of our troops wherever they are. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

- Who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again. (Hebrews 11:33)

The prophetic Islamic Caliphate and Babylon the Great

The United Muslim Nations International is an organization dedicated to revival of the global Islamic Caliphate. It is headed by 27 year old self-proclaimed genius Farook Mohammed, also known as Al-Farook. Not much is known about the organization, but its goals are very similar to that of the Muslim Brotherhood. Al-Farook has written a 23 page plan on how to reestablish the global Islamic Caliphate. "The Global Islamic Civilization: The Power of a Nation Revived" is a treatise on how Islam is the only true religion and at the same time the "Best Nation" as declared by Mohammed the Prophet and the Quran. Al-Farook compels Muslims around the world to revive the Islamic Caliphate.

Al-Farook calls Muslims to their Islamic roots by educating their children in only Muslim schools, following only the Quran, and not associating with Christians or Jews. He is a revivalist preacher among Muslims. He claims the Islamic Caliphate never ended and it lives in the hearts of all true Muslims. He says the Caliphate can be revived: "perhaps it could be America, China, India, Russia, Africa...even the people whom we may see as our greatest enemies can be guided by Allah and given the responsibility to Awaken the World's Greatest Civilization that will bring about an era of Universal Brotherhood and Sisterhood as never seen before in history."

While Al-Farook warns against associating with Christians and Jews, he has written an open letter to the Vatican calling for cooperation: "It is our common goal in faith to uphold all that is good and forbid all that is evil, this letter comes as a request for your cooperation in the common goals we share. As religious leaders, as dedicated believers and scholars of the Holy Scriptures from our Lord, as His agents on Earth it is our duty to protect, assist and guide mankind to that which is good. Why fight against the evil forces alone when we can stand in unity for the pleasure of the Lord? Let us set aside our differences and work together to fight against the evils of the world."

Al-Farook's treatise clearly describes the Islamic Caliphate as both the "only true religion" and the "Best Nation." He exhorts Muslims to champion the Caliphate wherever they live. He has called on the Vatican to join Muslims in common goals. This is a virtual snapshot of the end time Revelation 17 description of "Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth." With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.(Revelation 17:2). Revelation 17:6 describes the "woman drunken with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of the Messiah." Here we have both the global religion that persecutes Christians and the political system with which the kings of the earth have fornicated because of its riches and oil.

The mystery of Babylon the Great is that it is both a religion and a political system. It is the great antiChrist counterfeit. It has a mutually cooperative relationship with the Beast empire. And as YHVH avenges the blood of the saints, it is destroyed by the Beast and the Beast coalition. Could we be seeing through Al-Farook how such a religion and political system is able to be formed in the prophetic stage of today's global condition?

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Obama's Middle Class Tax Hike

Obama's Middle Class Tax Hike

I want to revisit an issue that was largely ignored or intentionally distorted by the media. Yesterday's "big news" was Barack Obama's White House announcement that he wanted to extend the Bush tax cuts for the middle class. The media reported this as though Obama were a tax cutter.

In reality, Obama was declaring his intention to hit every American with massive tax increase. If Obama really wanted to avoid raising taxes on the middle class, he could have called for a permanent extension of the Bush tax cuts for the middle class. But he did not do that. Obama said, "I'm calling on Congress to extend the tax cuts for . . . Americans who make less than $250,000 for another year." [Emphasis added.]

We mentioned this fact in yesterday's report, but you need to make sure that your friends and family members understand this key point. Obama wants to raise everyone's taxes. The only difference is the timing. He wants to tax the "rich" starting in January. But there are not enough rich people to pay for all of Obama's spending, so he'll tax everyone else in 2014. Yesterday he admitted it.

That's just one more reason . . . why we must elect a conservative majority to the United States Senate on November 6th! (Gary Bauer)

Congress to Vote to Repeal Obamacare

U.S. House Set to Vote on ObamaCare Repeal Measure Wednesday

The U.S. House of Representatives began debate today on a bill to repeal the federal health care law known as ObamaCare.

Lawmakers spent more than five hours debating the bill, with Republicans pointing out why ObamaCare needs to be repealed and Democrats generally saying the discussion was a "waste of time."

But at the end of the session, lawmakers voted 240-182 to adopt the resolution, which will receive a formal vote Wednesday.

That will mark the 31st time the House has voted on a measure seeking to repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). Though legislators have voted to repeal it every time, the measure gains no traction in the Senate. (Citizen Link)

- Ask our Lord to move by the wind of His Spirit, and to blow a new breeze through the United States Senate, that those 100 members, too, would act to be free of the tyranny of this law. Pray for a miracle. Pray!

- "This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' Says the Lord of hosts. (Zech. 4:6)

[We note that today, on the last day of our time of prayer, fasting, and repentance, the vast majority of the members of the House of Representatives -- 240-182 -- did, indeed, vote to overrule this wicked piece of legislation that, among other things, would require the use of taxpayer monies to fund the shedding of innocent blood through abortions.
We thank the Lord for the victory in this preliminary vote (there is one more to follow tomorrow), and ask that this momentum be continued into the Senate. Amen.]

The Madisonian

The Week of July 9-July 13

Fellow conservative patriots,

While there is a lot of talk of partisan bickering in Washington, the reality is that there is too much bipartisanship; there is a consensus to grow government. Much of that bipartisanship takes place on a committee level. . . Read below to find out more. For Liberty.

Obamacare

House Republicans plan to vote on another bill to Repeal Obamacare this week, probably on Wednesday. While this is largely a pro forma vote due to the lack of support in the Senate, it is important for two reasons. First, it will get all blue dog Democrats on record as supporting or opposing Obamacare. This will make it easier for their Republican opponents to hang Obamacare around their necks during the election. Second, it keeps Obamacare in the news - something that will continue to hurt Obama in the polls.

It is important to remember that we must hold Republicans accountable for defunding Obamacare as well. While Republicans lack the votes in the Senate to repeal the law statutorily, they are able to deny funding to Obamacare by refusing to pass a budget bill that contains such appropriations. Michele Bachmann is circulating a letter to leadership with the help of the RSC echoing our call to vote against any appropriations bill that contains funding for Obamacare. Find out if your member is signing the letter.

We will be pushing this issue hard following the August recess.

Democrats Pushing The Limits

Democrats Pushing The Limits

After former Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was shot by a madman, Obama and the media exploited the opportunity to castigate the Tea Party and call for more civility in our public discourse. In reality, it was a thinly-veiled attempt to once again intimidate conservatives into silence.

Now they are upping the ante. Politico reported yesterday that Democrat "trackers" -- paid campaign staffers who videotape their Republican opponents -- are "testing the outer limits" with far more aggressive practices. They are now videotaping the homes of GOP congressmen and candidates and posting their addresses online!

Granted, a candidate's expectation of privacy should be pretty low when he enters the public arena. But this practice borders on an invasion of privacy that strips spouses, children and neighbors of their sense of security. As one Ohio Republican said, "It's hard for my neighbors or my family to get comfortable when someone is in the bushes."

The reaction from one California GOP candidate was predictable, "We would never do that." That's precisely the wrong response! Politico writes that Democrats "are unapologetic about the hardball tactics." If these are the new rules of the game, then play the game to win! This is why the left so often prevails. It plays by different rules and seeks to intimidate people . . . into silence.

My friends, America is at a tipping point. As the Supreme Court's recent ObamaCare decision made absolutely clear, this election is everything. The days and weeks ahead will challenge all of us to get outside of our comfort zones and to make sacrifices for the preservation of freedom. (Gary Bauer)

Report: Iranian sleeper cells are in America

Ex-CIA agent: Iranian sleeper cells are in America

Ex-CIA Agent Reza Kahlili says Iranian terrorist cells inside the U.S. have weapons, explosives, money and safe houses; they use contacts with Mexican and Latin American drug cartels to smuggle explosives and weapons into America.

[Reza Kahlili] lives in fear, he says, because his years as a paid spy for the CIA inside Iran have made him an assassination target of Iran's government.

Kahlili says Iran has intelligence agents inside American universities, Islamic cultural centers and charitable institutions, posing as academics, policy experts and officers of nonprofits . . . [trying] to influence policymakers to encourage negotiations in order to give Iran time to develop nuclear weapons. (Los Angeles Times)

In UK: Overwhelming Vote of Support for a Christian's Freedom to Share their Faith

"That this Synod express its conviction that it is the calling of Christians to order and govern our lives in accordance with the teaching of Holy Scripture, and to manifest our faith in public life as well as in private, giving expression to our beliefs in the written and spoken word, and in practical acts of service to the local community and to the nation."

(United Kingdom)-On Sunday, July 8th the Church of England's Parliament, the General Synod, agreed to "overwhelmingly back the right of Christians to 'manifest their faith in the public square,'" said a report from ChristianConcern.com.

Present at the debate prior to the vote, was Nurse Caroline Petrie who had been discriminated against for offering to pray with a patient, as well as Olive Jones, a teacher who had been fired for sharing her testimony with a student.

After the debate, the Synod voted 263 to 25 to pass the following motion:

"That this Synod express its conviction that it is the calling of Christians to order and govern our lives in accordance with the teaching of Holy Scripture, and to manifest our faith in public life as well as in private, giving expression to our beliefs in the written and spoken word, and in practical acts of service to the local community and to the nation."

The report noted that the Synod's decision will boost the case of four British Christians who are taking their cases of religious discrimination to the European Court of Human Rights in September.

Founder of the Christian Legal Centre, Andrea Minichiello Williams, commented on the Synod's decision; "For the past decade, our Parliament has moved away from Christian principles of law making which have served our nation so well. Modern law making is based on human rights theory espousing principles of equality and diversity. But there is no common agreement as to the source of the rights.

"If we cannot agree how rights arise or how they are conferred, it is difficult to agree what they should be. There is no common basis for a discussion about the way in which rights should be applied, in particular in relation to how or where precedence should be given when rights conflict. Moreover in a secular society of every political hue it is the religious rights that are crushed.

"As Lord Denning used to say 'Although, Christianity, law and morals can be separated, they are nevertheless, still very much dependent on one another. Without Christianity, there can be no morality, there can be no law.'"
