1. Egyptian government heading toward autocracy, an opposition leader says - Washington Times

Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood-led government is asserting its dominance in ways that raise the specter of an autocracy similar to the regime Egyptians toppled almost two years ago, an Egyptian opposition leader warned foreign-policy specialists in Washington.

- Lord, we pray for the government of Egypt to be under Your control. We pray for those who are in false religion to see the right gate, as Jesus said no one comes to the Father except through me. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

- Strive to enter in at the strait gate; for many I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. (Luke 13:24)

- Times of Israel

U.S. lawmakers are calling on Egypt and Turkey to take a central role in helping to end the bloody conflict in the Middle East, with one influential senator going so far as to say that American aid dollars were at risk if Egypt didn't rein in Hamas militants.

- Lord, we pray for Senator Graham and the strong stand he has taken. Please give him favor and a voice when he speaks what is right. We pray for the right decision to be made about funds to the area, and that it would be effective in helping to stop Hamas. Let leaders know the part they are to play until You are revealed. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

- And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the veil that is spread over all nations. (Isaiah 25: 7)

3. Obama Sending Secretary of State Clinton to Middle East

- To shine upon and give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to direct and guide our feet in a straight line into the way of peace. (Luke 1: 79)

4. Four Men Charged in Plot to Support Terrorists
- Fox News

4 men in Southern California have been charged for their roles in a plot to provide material support to terrorists.

Read more:

- Lift up Rep. Allen West and his family and staff in the aftermath of this brutal season in his political career. Pray that the Lord would allow many opportunities for the voice of this fine man to be heard in the days ahead. Allen West is a true friend of Israel, and we need his coiitnued support now as we all pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Pray!

- "A bruised reed He will not break, and a dimly burning wick He will not put out." (Isaiah 42:3)

6. U.S. lawmakers say they're confident they can avoid "fiscal cliff"
- Reuters

Leading U.S. lawmakers expressed confidence on Sunday that they could reach a deal to avert the "fiscal cliff" even as they laid down markers on taxes and spending that may make any agreement more difficult.

- Lord, we pray godly financial wisdom for the lawmakers to agree on these financial issues. In the name of Jesus we pray. Let them know the perfect law of liberty. Amen.

- But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of his work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
(James 1:25)

7. Atheists' move halts Christmas tradition in Santa Monica, churches go to court to get it back

Israel violence not Magog, but keep an eye on Turkey

Many are pointing to passages in the Bible in connection with the current violent conflict in Israel that has brought the Middle East to the precipice of war. Like layers of an onion leading to the core, the violence is a type and shadow of prophetic fulfillment, but it is not the Magog War. We can see, however, that certain players are edging closer to the actual Ezekiel 38 prophecy where Gog of Magog leads Islamic nations against Israel in a colossal end time battle where only the return of the Messiah saves the remnant of Israel from total destruction. We now see how modern day Turkey is coming closer into the prophetic obit as prophesied in Ezekiel.

Ezekiel 38:3 says, "And say, Thus saith the LORD YHVH; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal." Ezekiel goes on to prophesy that Gog will lead Persia, Ethiopia, Libya, Gomer, Togarmah, Sheba, Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish against Israel. Gog is the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. Magog, Meshech and Tubal were part of the Assyrian Empire located in modern day Turkey--as was Tarsus, Gomer, and Togarmah. Sheba and Dedan were located in what is now Saudi Arabia. Persia is Iran. Ethiopia is Sudan and Eastern Northern Africa. Libya is Western Northern Africa. There are many ancient maps on the internet and in libraries that independently verify this.
As Israel is attacked by the terrorist group Hamas, the Occupant of the Oval Office has called on the Prime Minister of Turkey and the President of Egypt "about steps that could be taken to bring an end to the violence." These were chosen because they have a relationship with Hamas and the other terrorist groups in the Middle East. Egypt's Morsi is from the Muslim Brotherhood, which serves as a uniting umbrella for the terrorist organizations. Turkey's Erdogan is considered a major player in representing the Islamic side of "reason." But Turkey's involvement is prophetically significant and the US President elevating Turkey to be a main broker of peace plays directly into the Ezekiel end time prophecy.
Meanwhile, we see yet another aspect of this prophecy. All these nations are coming against Israel. Yet the Ezekiel coalition is not yet complete as we see it today.Turkey, with ancient roots from the Assyrian Empire including Meshech, Tubal, Gomer, Magog, and Togarmah that point directly to the leadership of Gog, is also being pulled into the orbit of the Syrian rebellion as the violence increases. Turkey long has been building diplomatic credibility since the Islamic Caliphate ended in Turkey in 1922. This was the last empire that ruled over the vast majority of nations mentioned as coming against Israel in the end times, leading many to believe that a revived Islamic Caliphate is antichrist empire.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Electoral College to Meet Dec. 17th

Editor's note:

We submit the following article to you, from WorldNetDaily, for your own prayerful consideration. No one we have talked to since the election feels that the final count is "true," but that the figures, for a variety of reasons, were fraudulent.

With that thought in mind, please study the article, below, and take action as the Lord would lead. This is not about who will sit in the Oval Office; rather, this is about the need for our republican form of democracy to function correctly, according to the dictates of the Constitution of the United States of America. Thank you.

HOW OBAMA CAN BE STOPPED IN ELECTORAL COLLEGE

We have one last, final chance to save America. We have one last, final chance to stop Barack Obama. One final chance. What is this final chance? Will the Republicans step up to the plate and do what is necessary? Barack Obama has not yet been re-elected president. Yes, the election is over - but remember, a presidential election in America is not by popular vote. We vote for the candidate, but what we are really doing is voting for the electors who will meet on the Monday after the second Wednesday in December. That is when the actual re-election of the president occurs. Is there a way to stop this? Yes, there is. And the best part - this is totally constitutional.

The 12th Amendment of the Constitution as well as Article II of the Constitution govern the Electoral College. According to the 12th Amendment, for the Electoral College to be able to select the president, it must have a quorum of two-thirds of the states voting. If enough states refuse to participate, the Electoral College will not have a quorum. If the Electoral College does not have a quorum or otherwise cannot vote or decide, then the responsibility for selecting the president and vice president devolves to the Congress. The House of Representatives selects the president and the Senate selects the vice president. Since the Republicans hold a majority in the House, presumably they would vote for Mitt Romney, and the Democrats in the Senate would vote for Joe Biden for vice president.
Can this work? Sure it can. Democrats have actually set this precedent of refusing to participate to deny Republicans a quorum. They did this in Wisconsin and in Texas. Why can't we do this with the Electoral College? Mitt Romney was a terrible candidate, and he will not be a great president. But he will be infinitely better than Barack Obama.
So how do we do this? Mitt Romney carried 24 states. We need to have conservative activists from all over the nation contact the electors, the Republican Party and the secretary of state in all of these states and tell them not to participate in the Electoral College when it meets on Dec. 17. If we can get 17 of those states (just over one-third) to refuse to participate, the Electoral College will have no quorum. Then, as the Constitution directs, the election goes to the House of Representatives. That is how we can still pull this election out and make Mitt Romney president in January.
We need this concept shared with every tea party, liberty and patriotic group throughout the country. We have time to act, but we must pressure Republicans to do the right thing. It does not matter who gets credit for this. The credit is not important. Using our last chance to defeat Barack Obama is important. Far too often the Republican Party seems more interested in losing gracefully than winning and governing.
This is our last chance. We the people must contact the electors, party officials and secretaries of state from every red state and insist that they refuse to participate in the Electoral College. We can still save America and use the Constitution to do it. But this truly is our last chance.

Quick News:

November 20, 2012

This afternoon, there was a direct hit by a rocket on a home in a Gaza border community. One person is reported in critical condition. Earlier today one person was killed from rocket fire.

At 2:15 pm, air raid sirens sounded in Jerusalem and its neighborhoods. The reports are that two rockets landed south of the city. One was near a Jewish area, the other in a Palestinian Authority area. No explosions in Jerusalem proper.

Hamas has claimed responsibility for the rocket attack saying it was a M-75 that was fired. Massive IDF artillery and tank fire is reported aimed at the firing location of the rockets.

The Palestinian Authority is claiming a rocket landed near the northern Jerusalem border and are showing a supposed "impact zone" with a rigged explosion using smoke grenades.

There are reports of an attempted abduction of an IDF soldier in Jerusalem. Police have set up roadblocks to try to apprehend the suspects.

Help Save an Israeli Life:

Jonathan Feldstein is the director of American Friends of Magen David Adom [AFMDA] and a good friend of Bridges for Peace [BFP]. We have had the privilege of working with him to build a partnership between BFP and AFMDA that will allow Christians around the world to contribute to Israel's national blood bank, building their badly needed blood supply . . . even from thousands of miles away.

The following are Jonathan's personal thoughts on the unfolding crisis in Israel.

"Code Red-Code Red"

All day Thursday [November 15], and starting early Friday morning, TV and radio broadcasts were interrupted by regular "Code Red" air raid announcements. In some cases, Israelis only have 15 seconds from the sound of the warning to the possible explosion. Fifteen seconds is not a very long time. In some cases, it takes close to 15 seconds to read all the names of places where the "Code Red" siren is being sounded. Thirty seconds is not much better.

While the unfolding violence is deeply disturbing, with three Israelis killed and reports of dozens injured, it's inspiring to see Israelis uniting, coming together in a way that underscores that no matter where we live, we are all in this together. This has played out in many ways, most notably national youth groups rearranging their annual festivities to include kids from southern communities who can't gather for these activities at home where it's not safe. With Shabbat upon us, Israeli families out of range from the current barrage of Gaza rockets are inviting others who are in range to live with them, at least for Shabbat. We are trying to find people looking for a safe place to stay, whether for a restful Shabbat or longer as needed.

Schools within 40 km [24.8 miles] of the Gaza border have been closed. This creates extra stresses with kids at home and air raid warnings all the time-yet they're not being able to leave their homes or be out of range of their own bomb shelters. For parents, it's a no win because they either leave their kids at home alone and go to work, or stay home and miss work. Each time I hear reports of another air raid warning, my heart goes out for the residents, particularly the kids, with the hope that they are safe physically and strong emotionally.

Preparation for Deeper Conflict

A meeting Thursday took me to the center of the country where I was aware of the fact that I could have been driving into, or toward, the range of the Gaza rockets. As I was driving, I witnessed at least 12 military vehicles driving the opposite direction, south toward the conflict. Four were armored personnel carriers. Until now, Israel's military strikes have been surgically precise, targeting terrorist leaders, people in the midst of firing rockets, places where we know that weapons are being stored, etc. Yet, the IDF is certainly preparing for the eventuality of a deeper conflict that scares and concerns us all.

This year, having lived in Israel longer and having more friends with kids in the army, the situation is more personal. Friends' kids, and my own kids' friends, are being relocated with their military units to the south, and reserve units are being called up. Vacations and other leaves are being shortened and canceled. I have heard of three stories of young men about to be married next week, being called into active service. The stresses are profound. Weddings and other celebrations that have been planned within the 40 km [24.8 mile] range of Gaza are in question and have to be postponed or relocated.

Air Raid Siren Sounds in Tel Aviv

My meeting was interrupted by an air raid siren, in Tel Aviv! People flocked to the stairs to go down to a well outfitted bomb shelter, including hotel guests, some who had not even checked in, business people, and guests at a party. The hotel staff did an extraordinary job keeping people calm, though there was no shortage of people who were visibly worried and stressed.

Let it be clear however, what's happening in Israel and Gaza are worlds apart. I am proud of our military and government leaders for targeting the terrorist leaders, weapons storage, and other active combatants. On the other side, the terrorists are firing rockets at us indiscriminately, looking to create the widest amount of death and destruction.

Driving home last night, after a long day, radio broadcasts were still interrupted by air raid warnings. I took time to process the day's events. Part of me feels like I felt after September 11, 2001. All of me hopes and prays that this will not escalate. And I took note to think how stressful one air raid siren I experienced personally was to me, and reflected on the more than one million Israelis who live with that as their norm this week.

As rockets fall and injuries mount, an abundant supply of blood for the wounded is crucial. To contribute to this critical need, click here.

Rick Ridings: Prayers for Israel

Rick Ridings: Prayers for Israel

Some Key Scriptures and Ways to Pray:

1.  Pray for the Lord's supernatural intervention that would result in a turning to the Lord in Israel, Gaza, and the surrounding nations.  (Psalm 83, especially verse 16; Psalm 118:18,19).

2.  Pray for containment: that demonic powers would not be able to fan these flames into a conflict any larger than what the Lord is allowing for His purposes. Pray especially against the use of chemical weapons from Syria and/or Lebanon, or for strong winds to neutralize their effect if they are used.  (Psalm 11:2-7; Psalm 78:26).

3.  Pray for the right weather conditions.  A security expert explained to us that the present cool weather needs to continue to optimize the use of infrared guidance, so that missile strikes against terrorists are precise, and that civilian casualties are minimized.

4.  Pray for Israel to truly look to and trust in the Lord, and not just in their military power.  Pray that these fires that have been lit will be stopped in the Lord's perfect timing (Psalm 118:8-17).

5.  Pray for us as we are now ministering to pastors and intercession leaders in Indonesia, that they will hear the trumpet call of the Lord into this prayer battle.  We had a very powerful time of prayer in a national prayer leaders' conference here in Indonesia last week, where we were joined by some key Korean and Chinese intercessors.  If you would like to see a video of this, follow this link. Pray for the mobilization of this great army of intercessors in the Far East.  We feel the Lord has us here to "shore up the Eastern Front".

Federal Court Rules Against Nativity Scene

Court Rules Against Santa Monica Nativity Scene Event

Santa Monica, Calif. churches are facing a Christmas bereft of participating in a decades-long tradition of showing nativity scenes in a city park after a federal court ruled Monday in favor the city's ban of an annual nativity scene event.

The Nativity Scene Committee (NSC), comprised of 13 Santa Monica churches and the Santa Monica Police Officers Association, filed a lawsuit against the city Oct. 9 seeking to restore the nearly 60-year-old Nativity Scenes display in Palisades Park.

In Monday's hearing, the committee asked the court for a temporary reprieve from the ban while the case proceeds. The court's ruling means there will be no Nativity Scene event until a final ruling is issued in the case. (CitizenLink) Read more.

The Good News Corner

Supreme Court deals a blow to the anti-religious freedom crowd

Dear Friends,

We got some good news from the U.S. Supreme Court last week!

They denied Freedom From Religion Foundation's appeal of our big Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals victory for Spartanburg County School District No. 7.

This means that after three years of litigation, the principle that public schools can treat religious off-campus courses on the same terms as non-religious off-campus courses stands!

As you may recall from previous emails on this case, at issue here was a 2006 state law that permits high school students to pursue religious education classes off-campus and receive up to 2 elective credits for it. Spartanburg schools drafted and implemented a policy to comply with the law, reaching a smart balance for accommodating the students and parents who wanted to pursue "released-time" religious education while avoiding public school entanglement with religion. You can read more about the case here.
Both the federal district court and a three-judge panel at the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals agreed! In fact, a unanimous Fourth Circuit held that the school district's "program properly accommodates religion without establishing it, in accordance with the First Amendment."

Off-campus released-time programs like this were supported by the Supreme Court way back in 1952. And, nationwide, more than 250,000 students in 32 states participate in released-time programs each year.

This is a huge victory for religious liberty and it couldn't have been possible without your support. That's why as we head into the Thanksgiving holiday topping our list of what we're most thankful for here at the Becket Fund is faithful friends like you. It's a real blessing knowing that we have such dedicated supporters, like you, fighting for religious liberty with us. Thank you so much and may you and your family enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Sincerely,

Kristina Arriaga, Executive Director

The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty

Time to "Talk Turkey!"

Time to "Talk Turkey!"

Dear Friends,

In this season of THANKSGIVING, we do want to give thanks for each and every one of you . . . our 4,075 partners in prayer!

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of hosting the annual meeting of our Executive Board of Directors. As a 501 (c) 3, non-profit organization, we are required to do this as an act of accountablity each year by the State of Virgnia.
While it is always a joy to witness how our Lord is moving in our midst, and this year to rejoice at the exponential growth of CHPP, we nevertheless had to come to terms with a bit of a hard reality. And this is why I am coming to you now.
As of tonight, our credit card shows a balance due of $2,895.83. Ouch!

Normally, we pay this down monthly, but since last May, as our expenses have increased and our income remained the same or slightly decreased, we seem to be "stuck,"

For most ministries, the amount due on our card is a very small drop in a very large bucket, but for CHPP, this is a very large drop in a very small bucket! And so, we must now turn to you for help.
If you might each prayerfully consider Capitol Hill Prayer Partners in your year-end giving plan, this would be much appreciated. Checks may be made out to CHPP and sent to CHPP, P.O. Box 5152, Herndon, VA 20172.

If you prefer, you may now donate online by going here.

In the wake of today's end-time unfolding events, we look forward to continuing to stand with you as we pray for the leaders of our nation and for the peace of Jerusalem.

Thank you . . . God bless you . . . and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

In His Grace,

Sara Ballenger and the Executive Board
Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

P.S. Some of you may be thinking, "I have nothing to give!" Even $5.00 would help!! For example, tonight we want to honor a couple who live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and who have been giving to this ministry, EVERY MONTH FOR SIXTEEN YEARS, a check in the amount of $8.00 each!! [You know who you are!] In our office, every penny counts!! BLESS YOU!!
And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. (2 Corinthians 9:8)
