1. Holder misses deadline to clear up testimony on reporter surveillance
- Fox News

Attorney General Eric Holder has missed the deadline set by Republicans to personally explain questionable testimony he gave on reporter surveillance, as lawmakers threaten to subpoena Holder if necessary. The deadline set by House Judiciary Committee Republicans was close-of-business on Wednesday. An aide told FoxNews.com they have "not received a response." The Justice Department earlier this week penned a response to the Republican leaders of the committee. But it was authored by a lower-level official, and committee leaders complained it did not address their concerns. "A letter from a subordinate that fails to answer many of our questions does not suffice," Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., and Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner, R-Wis., wrote in a letter sent Tuesday. (Read more)

- Father, this man has been the center of lies, deceptions, and evil intent since he became the Attorney General. We pray for his removal from office or total heart change and conversion to Christ.

The Persecuted Church

Today's Focus: The Persecuted Church

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory . . ." (2 Corinthians 4:16-17)

1. Report Says Syrian Rebels Threaten Christians to "Flee or Die!" - WND

A new report from a ministry worker who visited a remnant of Syria's Christian community confirms the worst: Rebels battling President Bashar al-Assad for control are imposing Islamic law, giving Christians the choice to flee or die.

The report is from the Religious Freedom Coalition, the faith-based organization run by William J. Murray, author of "My Life Without God."

Murray explained that the report on persecution of Christians in Syria by jihadists was by Martin Janssen, who visited Amman, Jordan, for a prayer walk held for two Syrian church leaders kidnapped by Syrian rebels, Greek Orthodox Archbishop Paul Yazigi and Syriac Orthodox Archbishop Yohanna Ibrahim.

2. Christians Watchful as Sharif Maintains Power in Pakistan - WorldWatch Monitor

Pakistan's Christians appear to have thrown some of their political support to Nawaz Sharif in the May 11 national election, even as they have reason to be wary of his return to power.

Sharif's party, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, or PMLN, won 124 of the 272 directly elected seats in the lower house of Parliament. In Punjab province, home to more than half of Pakistan's population and 80 percent of its Christians, the PMLN won a two-thirds majority in the provincial government.

It is a remarkable comeback for Sharif, who was ousted by a military coup in 1999 and spent seven years' exile in Saudi Arabia and Great Britain. On June 5, he took office as prime minister, Pakistan's top executive position, for a third time.

3. 2008 Anti-Christian Violence in Orissa to be Remembered - Indian Christian Activist Network

Kandhamal tragedyOdisha, June 03, 2013: Scholars, activists, churches and others working to defend India's secular credentials met in New Delhi on Thursday to chalk out plans to mark the fifth anniversary of the 2008 violence in Orissa's Kandhamal district.

Suggestions were made to stage a rally in Bhubaneswar, a seminar in Delhi, a national roaming exhibition and the launch of a website to explain the events of the anti-Christian rampage.

It was months before the smoke finally lifted from the hills and valleys of Kandhamal in 2008. When it did, over 400 villages had been purged of all Christians; more than 5,600 houses and 296 churches had been burnt to a cinder and perhaps as many as a 100 killed (the government admits to a total of 56).

Thousands were injured, women raped, including a nun, and 56,000 men, women and children rendered homeless.

Sikhs and Muslims have faced similar ordeals in 1984 (Delhi) and 1992 and 2002 (Mumbai and Gujarat). They are still looking for justice, with an occasional triumph in the Supreme Court.

THE MADISONIAN

"A Born-Free American"

If you've been watching the news, you are aware that the IRS scandal continues to grow, and if you missed it, I want to make sure you watch Becky Gerritson's testimony in front of the House Ways and Means Committee yesterday. Becky is the founder and president of the Wetumpka (Alabama) Tea Party and someone I worked closely with last year for the Madison Project's Code Red efforts. I love that she gets what we are up against, something that came through powerfully yesterday during her testimony.

"I'm not here as a serf or a vassal. I'm not begging my lords for mercy. I'm a born-free American woman, wife, mother and citizen. And I'm telling my government that you've forgotten your place. It's not your responsibility to look out for my well-being and to monitor my speech. It's not your right to assert an agenda. Your post, the post that you occupy exists to preserve American liberty. You've sworn to perform that duty. And you have faltered!" - Becky Gerritson
What remains to be seen in this IRS scandal is whether Congress (Republicans and Democrats) will take action of any sort. If ever there were the perfect opportunity to constrain and reform government bureaucracy, this is that opportunity.
For Liberty.

The Daily Jot

Because you need to know

It is Wednesday afternoon as I write this. I wanted to keep it fresh in my mind. My wife, son, his girlfriend and I were pulling up to our house after having a nice lunch together. I noticed a dark BMW pulling up behind us, waiting for us to walk across the street and I motioned him on. A Middle Eastern looking man dressed in a casual shirt and jeans came into my driveway and asked if I was William Wilson. He identified himself as Amir with the FBI and wanted to know if he could ask me a few questions. He said that someone under the "See something, say something" program reported me as a suspicious person perhaps involved with terrorism. He asked if I was driving a red Camry in April taking pictures of an oil refinery in Delaware.

He opened my "file" while explaining that this is not his case, but someone else's. Then he corrected himself saying that it was not really a "case." He said that he was undercover and because he lived in Montgomery County, he offered to do the interview with me instead of having the other agent drive out from Baltimore. I could see the file. It had my picture, and other information that I couldn't quite make out. He explained that someone had reported me taking pictures of a Delaware oil refinery from a red Camry in April. He asked me several ways if I had a Camry, was in Delaware in April, and other questions about it. I do not have a Camry, nor was I ever in Delaware taking pictures of an oil refinery.
He questioned me: Is there anyone who you have "pissed off" lately? Is there anyone who would have a reason to turn me in to the FBI. What might I have done to cause this? Do I hate anybody or [implied] any group of people? Am I against the government? I told him I am a patriot. I told him that I have written a column for over 11 years and I am critical of Islamic terrorism, and some things like the FBI shooting the boy in Orlando. He asked if I ever get threatened. I told him from time to time I do, but if it gets serious I tell them I am uncomfortable and will turn them into authorities if it continues. He assured me that he believed there was nothing to this complaint and his report would reflect such.
He suggested that I take precautions such as making sure my address was not on my website. He also knew what cars I owned and drove. I will say that it was a very non-threatening type of interview although it is creepy and I wonder what is next. You need to know because I believe there is safety in numbers and the more who know, the safer we are. Notwithstanding, I am calling on the Lord and praying Ephesians 6:17-19, "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel." Please pray for our protection.
Have A Blessed And Powerful Day,

Bill Wilson

Thank you for your prayers, amen.

Scandals Hurting Obama

Scandals Hurting Obama

The IRS, Benghazi and media scandals have begun to erode the public's trust in the Obama White House. Here's how the numbers breakdown in the latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll:

58% of adults said that the administration's handling of the Benghazi attacks has raised doubts about the Obama White House's honesty and integrity.

58% also said that the Justice Department's seizure of phone records from various media outlets made them question the White House's honesty and integrity.

55% said the same about the IRS's targeting of conservative groups.

Clearly Americans are concerned about how this Chicago gang is conducting itself. Not surprisingly, a recent Rasmussen poll found that 56% of voters feel the government is a threat to individual rights. This is the time to make government reform a major issue. (Gary Bauer)

Obamacare's Death Panel

Kathleen Sebelius: Obamacare's Death Panel

Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius was on the Hill to answer questions about her efforts to pressure companies to donate money to a non-profit group supporting Obamacare. Of course, she insisted she did nothing wrong and strictly followed every regulation.

During the hearing there was an emotional exchange literally about life and death and the strict adherence to regulations. Several House Republicans begged Sebelius to intervene in the case of Sarah Murnaghan, a 10 year-old Pennsylvania girl who will die within weeks without a lung transplant.

Unfortunately, pediatric lungs are not available. But even though her doctors believe adult lungs could save her life, regulations do not permit the transplant of adult lungs to anyone under the age of 12.

Rep. Lou Barletta (R-PA) said to Secretary Sebelius, "I'm begging you. Sarah has three to five weeks to live. Time is running out." Sebelius responded by saying that she had ordered a review of the policy.

Rep. Tom Price (R-GA), a doctor by profession, told Sebelius, "It simply takes your signature. A study will take over a year. This young lady will be dead."

But Sebelius stood her ground, saying that Sarah Murnaghan's case was a tragic situation in which "someone lives and someone dies." It seems Secretary Sebelius is a "death panel" of one.

Doesn't that just make you feel warm and fuzzy? Just imagine the same agents at the IRS now harassing conservatives and Christians getting ready to implement Obamacare! (Gary Bauer)

Faith-Based Organizations React,
Cut Ties with Boy Scouts of America

Churches and other faith-based groups have announced plans to remove affiliation with the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) after the organization changed its membership policy last month to allow openly gay members.

The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) will likely recommend that its 47,000 U.S. churches withdraw their support, SBC President Frank Page told ABCNews.com.

"I can say with pretty strong accuracy that the vast majority of Southern Baptists are very disappointed in the latest change in policy . . . deeply disappointed," Frank told the news outlet. "We just felt like there's got to be some objective standard, and we felt they were maintaining that until recently." (CitizenLink)
