HHS Mandate at the Supreme Court

On Tuesday, March 25, the Supreme Court will hear Hobby Lobby's and Conestoga Wood's challenges to the HHS mandate.

- Hobby Lobby is a family-owned craft store businesses with locations in over 40 states. If they refuse to comply with the mandate and instead operate in accordance with their faith, they could face fines of up to $1.3 million per day.

- Conestoga Wood is a Mennonite-owned woodworking company that employs nearly 1,000 people.

The mandate jeopardizes jobs and health insurance by forcing family businesses to choose between paying crippling fines for following their conscience or dropping healthcare coverage for all employees. Employers who desire to supply their employees with health care coverage will face fines of up to $36,500 per employee each year for refusing coverage of even one listed drug. If they offer no health insurance whatsoever, the fine is only up to $2,000 per employee each year.

America has a deeply held tradition of respecting the freedom of conscience, and our laws should not force individuals or businesses to violate these beliefs just to operate a business or access health insurance. We cannot allow a religious litmus test to determine who is permitted to fully participate in American life. The First Amendment is a promise that we are free to live holistically, according to the dictates of our conscience, but the mandate tramples that promise for countless organizations and business owners across the country.

You can see videos of the Green family talking about the cases here, and a video about the Hepler family who owns Seneca Hardwood Lumber, one of the many other family businesses whose fate may hinge on the Court's decision, here.

According to the Becket Fund, amicus briefs supporting the businesses outnumbered the opposition nearly 3 to 1. A full list of these briefs is available here.

Concerned Women for America

Concerned Women for America Organizing a Rally at the Court
on Tuesday morning

Next Tuesday, March 25, the United States Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on the Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood religious liberty cases challenging the Obama Administration's "contraceptive" mandate, and Concerned Women for America (CWA) will be there to show our support for religious liberty.

Join us to pray and rally for religious freedom in front of the Supreme Court at 1 First St, N.E., Washington, D.C. 20543 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on March 25, 2014.
Concerned Women for America (CWA) has already submitted a brief to the Supreme Court in support of Hobby Lobby, Conestoga Wood, and religious freedom, but we know there is still much work to be done. We need you to come out and stand by the Green (owners of Hobby Lobby) and Hahn (owners of Conestoga Wood) families as they go before the Court to protect their right to conduct their family business according to their religious beliefs and free from government coercion.
This case is not about "access to contraception," as the other side puts it. These families only object to abortion-inducing drugs (only 4 out of the 16 methods mandated), and the government has conceded that these four methods may indeed prevent the implantation of a fertilized egg. This is a clear problem for those who believe that life begins at conception.
So come out and join us to pray and tell the government to stop violating our religious liberties:

DATE: March 25, 2014

TIME: 9:30 - 11:30 am

LOCATION: The Supreme Court of the United States
1 First St, N.E.
Washington, DC 20543

May God bless you and your family,

Sincerely,

Penny Nance

A Prayer of Repentance

A Prayer of Repentance

Offered by: Gregg Healy; New Hampshire

My perspective is that if people and businesses in the US (such as Hobby Lobby) lose the basic constitutional freedoms of religion and speech, then we are no longer a free Country.

So this stand is a strategic one. I pray for continued boldness and courage for those standing.

The enemy is using abortion, healthcare and gay rights as wedge issues to accomplish this further enslavement of the American people through the seductive Jezebelian evil spirit of political correctness.

This all has been set-up as a consequence of US Church losing touch with the mission of being uncompromised salt and light in the "real world" - our communities, government, businesses, media, schools, entertainment, etc. - not just the "church world".

How has this happened? Mainly due to Christians retreating to the isolationism of the "4-walls" of local churches (independent of each other) as consumers of the gospel, rather than purveyors of it. There is just enough foreign mission and para-ministry support to take the guilt away and to feel evangelistic and generous. This comes mainly in the form of money.

It is the compromise (Rev 2:14) and corruption (Rev 2:20) of the US Church. I.e., Baal worship in the form of: fear, control, self-preservation, self-promotion, desire for comfort and pleasure, avoiding troubles and persecution, focusing on self rather than God and neighbors, and cow-towing to the influences of money (idolatry).

So repentance among the people of God, starting with the remnant, is the key. Coming out of Babylon (Rev 18:4) and separating from a "spirit of this world" (Romans 12:2; 1 Corinthians 2:12), which is Holiness unto God.
We must concentrate now upon raising up fearless harvest workers, not loving our own lives above God's heart, even unto death.
-- Thank you, Gregg! We AGREE!!
