Ukraine is edging towards "the point of no return", a senior UN official says, amid rising tensions between security forces and pro-Russia separatists.

As talks between world powers and Iran came to a close without any signs of progress, Tehran said Sunday that the Arak research reactor, which the West fears can be used to make plutonium for a nuclear bomb, would continue its work with 40 megawatts of power.

- Father God, we ask that You would cause all of Iran's wicked plans to weaponize its nuclear power to be halted and never come together for those who plan evil for Israel. We ask You to speak to the hearts of all the Iranian scientists and cause them to repent before You.

All evacuation orders were lifted Sunday as firefighters gained the upper hand on the remaining four of nearly a dozen blazes that tore through Southern California last week -- while the governor warned the state was gearing up for what could be one of the drought-stricken region's worst wildfire seasons.

- Lord, protect the state of California from wildfires during this season. We ask for much rain in this drought-stricken region. In Jesus Name.

- "For ground that drinks the rain which often falls on it and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God . . ."

5. Corporations hoard cash overseas away from high U.S. taxes, have little incentive to reinvest - Washington Times

American corporations seem to be doing just about everything with their record $1.53 trillion in cash holdings except using it to invest and hire in the United States, even though the sluggish economy could use the boost.

- Father, we pray for favorable conditions in the United States for companies to be profitable in their business endeavors. We ask prudence for our lawmakers to decrease taxes on businesses, so companies are not driven to invest their profits overseas.

- In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty. (Proverbs 14:23)

6. Targeted? Gun sellers say 'high risk' label from feds cuts off banking options, restricts business - Washington Times

Gun retailers say the Obama administration is trying to put them out of business with regulations and investigations that bypass Congress and choke off their lines of credit, freeze their assets and prohibit online sales.

- Father, we ask You to bring balance to the regulations and investigations for gun sellers. Hold this administration accountable for bypassing Congress for many issues. We cry out for a righteous leader. In Jesus Name.

- Give the king Your judgments, O God, And Your righteousness to the king's son. 2) May he judge Your people with righteousness And Your afflicted with justice. 3) Let the mountains bring peace to the people, And the hills, in righteousness. 4) May he vindicate the afflicted of the people, Save the children of the needy And crush the oppressor.(Psalm 72:1-5)

Socialist healthcare killing US veterans

As a very young boy, I remember going with my dad to visit veterans that he knew. They were the forgotten ones from World War I and II who had suffered mental issues, severed limbs, various health problems. Part of the discussion was that the government run hospitals were death traps and provided substandard care. I didn't understand then what it was all about, but I knew my dad's deep feeling that the government should be treating our veterans better. I just remember that visiting these men was a traumatic event. The place smelled bad, it was dirty, and the men were not well-kept. This is the forerunner to socialized medicine that is being forced upon all Americans today. And nothing much has changed.

As a senator on November 12, 2007, the occupant of the Oval Office said: "After seven years of an Administration that has stretched our military to the breaking point, ignored deplorable conditions at some VA hospitals, and neglected the planning and preparation necessary to care for our returning heroes, America's veterans deserve a President who will fight for them not just when it's easy or convenient, but every hour of every day for the next four years." On July 23, 2012 he said, "For the first time ever, we've made military families and veterans a top priority not just at DOD, not just at the VA, but across the government." Blaming Republicans for VA problems, he said, "Let's stop playing politics with our military."
This president has a way of stating facts and then acting as if he has nothing to do with what he is criticizing. Under his watch, however, a scandal of immense proportions has been uncovered. Long wait periods, sub-par treatment, reports of suicide of patients waiting for treatment and more. The president promised a two week or less waiting time, but it has been revealed that there were two lists--a secret list that held patients indefinately until a spot opened up on the two-week list. This officially and technically met the two-week wait promise, but in reality, patients were waiting long periods of time to receive poor treatment. Meantime, employees were receiving bonuses for saving money on health treatments.

Over 100 veterans have died while on waiting lists. It is deplorable that our veterans are treated this way. Under government mandated healthcare, someone other than you will decide whether you deserve care. This is shameful and inhumane. It is about control of the population and their votes. If you can control the lifeblood of a person through healthcare, you can get just about anything you want. That's what a socialist democracy aims to do. Our vets are warning America about socialist healthcare by their first-hand experience. It's killing them. What's it going to do to you? This should be unsettling in every American's spirit. As Peter and the Apostles said in Acts 5:29, "We ought to obey God rather than men." An unjust law is no law at all. Socialist healthcare is unjust. Just ask a vet.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Update: Ground Zero Cross

Ground Zero Cross A Powerful Symbol Of 9/11 Memorial

"The Ground Zero Cross, for some the most resonant artifact of 9/11, has been underground and out of public sight for almost three years. A lawsuit by an atheist advocacy group argues that, as a religious symbol, the cross has no place in a public museum. The museum says the cross merely shows how some people were affected by the attacks, and its presence is no more an endorsement of religion than any painting of the Virgin in the National Gallery of Art. A federal district judge ruled for the museum; the atheists' appeal is likely to be decided shortly. Silecchia says that in the days after 9/11, people were drawn to the cross not as a symbol of Christ but something else: a sign that somehow, death - even the death of almost 3,000 innocents - was not the final word. 'My cross is not a symbol of religion,' he says. 'It's a symbol of faith.'" (Congressional Prayer Caucus Foundation)

Marriage Redefined in Oregon

Judge Redefines Marriage in Oregon

A federal district judge today struck down the Oregon constitutional marriage amendment defining marriage as a union between one man and one woman. Voters approved the amendment in 2004.

Brian Brown, president of the National Organization for Marriage (NOM), called the case "an ugly example of inappropriate cooperation between the Attorney General and the gay marriage lobby." Both want to "redefine marriage," he said "in contravention of the overwhelming decision of the people to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman."

U.S. District Judge Michael McShane who is openly gay, refused to recuse himself from this case.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals today denied the group's request to put the decision on hold. NOM wanted a chance defend the marriage law on behalf the people of Oregon. The court's refusal of the request means that marriage licenses may be issues to same-sex couples - immediately.

Oregon joins the District of Columbia and 17 states - California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington - which have redefined marriage by legislation or court order.

Focus on the Family Judicial Analyst Bruce Hausknecht said it's both "shocking and dangerous" that judges and attorneys general are not defending these constitutional amendments.

"Elected officials, in increasing numbers, are refusing to enforce laws they disfavor politically," he said. "Judges are redefining marriage with no constitutional authority and with no semblance of judicial restraint. If there were ever a legal case where the deck was more stacked against the will of the voters than this one, I have yet to see it.

Only three states - North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana - face no legal threats to their constitutional marriage amendments.
What's even worse, Hausknecht said, is that redefining marriage hurts the most vulnerable among us.

"Even more disturbing than the ease with which judges like this one continue to ignore the will of the people, is the arrogance that pretends to know that children don't really need both a mom and a dad, and that marriage is simply about rewarding adult desires at the expense of conducting a vast social experiment with our kids," he said. "Common sense and the social science both tell us that this is a recipe for even more family dysfunction than we are currently experiencing." (Citizen Link) Read more and take action here.

"Show Us the Drone Memos"

Show Us the Drone Memos

An article written by Senator Rand Paul for the New York Times

I believe that killing an American citizen without a trial is an extraordinary concept and deserves serious debate. I can't imagine appointing someone to the federal bench, one level below the Supreme Court, without fully understanding that person's views concerning the extrajudicial killing of American citizens.

But President Obama is seeking to do just that. He has nominated David J. Barron, a Harvard law professor and a former acting assistant attorney general, to a seat on the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

While he was an official in the Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel, Mr. Barron wrote at least two legal memos justifying the execution without a trial of an American citizen abroad. Now Mr. Obama is refusing to share that legal argument with the American people.

On April 30, I wrote to the Senate majority leader, Harry Reid, urging him to delay this nomination, pending a court-ordered disclosure of the first memo I knew about. Since that letter, I have learned more. The American Civil Liberties Union sent a letter to all senators on May 6, noting that in the view of the Senate Intelligence Committee chairwoman, Dianne Feinstein, "there are at least eleven OLC opinions on the targeted killing or drone program." It has not been established whether Mr. Barron wrote all those memos, but we do know that his controversial classified opinions provided the president with a legal argument and justification to target an American citizen for execution without a trial by jury or due process.

I believe that all senators should have access to all of these opinions. Furthermore, the American people deserve to see redacted versions of these memos so that they can understand the Obama administration's legal justification for this extraordinary exercise of executive power. The White House may invoke national security against disclosure, but legal arguments that affect the rights of every American should not have the privilege of secrecy. (Read more)

> > > Prayer Point from Intercessors for America:

We remind readers that this item is Kentucky Senator Rand Paul's opinion piece from The New York Times, May 11. The disclaimer is important because Intercessors for America (IFA) does not "take sides" politically. We try to speak from a biblical perspective, and as we pray for those in authority, starting with President Obama, we firmly believe God's plan for America includes a return to the Constitution's "checks and balances" for officials to display accountability. With the power of drones as instruments of execution, the rule of law is critically important. Pray accordingly.

- "But let justice run down like water, and righteousness like a mighty stream." (Amos 5:24)

In Iran: Christian Woman will Hang

In Iran: Christian Woman will Hang

A Christian woman, Meriam Ibrahim, has been sentenced to hang.

Sudan says she must die because she is a Christian.

She is pregnant; and before they execute her, they will punish her with 100 lashes because she married an American Christian.

Her other child - a 20-month-old boy, a U.S. citizen - is being forced to suffer in prison with her.

The Sudanese judge who sentenced her to death gave her three chances to recant - to abandon her Christian faith. Meriam refused. "I am a Christian, and I will remain a Christian," she said.

She won't abandon her faith. We must not abandon her.

We're aggressively mobilizing our international teams to save her life. She must be freed; her American son must be freed.

Your voice can make the difference, but time is of the essence. Be heard.

March of Remembrance - April 27th, 2014:

Thousands march around the world to remember the Holocaust

NEVER AGAIN!

Dear Capitol Hill Prayer Partners, Shalom and Blessings! What an incredible honor it is to be part of what God is doing in the world today. This year, tens of thousands of people around the world joined together to make a public proclamation that "Never Again" will we be silent when the wicked attempt to destroy the innocent. Over 60 cities joined together with us this year to Remember and Honor those who suffered the atrocities of the Holocaust and to stand with Israel and the Jewish people to say "Never Again".

In Budapest, the March of Life and the March of Remembrance joined with over 25,000 people to participate with the March of the Living from Israel. Rabbis, Church leaders and Government officials from Hungary, the United States, Canada and Israel took the stage with Holocaust Survivors to share their resolve to insure something like this will never be allowed to take place again.

Pastor Jobst Bittner, the founder & visionary for the March of Life was honored to be one of the key-note speakers at the event, sharing the cost of our silence and the need to confront our past so we can embrace the future together.

But the most beautiful words that broke the silence that day in Budapest, was a choir composed of Holocaust Survivors singing Ha Tikvah (The Hope)!

In other countries around the world, including Europe, South America and the United States many others took to the streets to remember and stand with Israel. In the United States alone, people from 49 cities joined together to remember and honor those who perished and those who survived the Holocaust. (Read more here)

Signs and Wonders

Signs and Wonders:

"And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near." (Luke 21:25-28)

Weird Cloud Formation Wows Storm-Chasers

A phenomenal shot of a massive cloud Sunday near Clareton, Wyo., has been making the rounds on social media today.

The photo was taken by the Basehunters storm chasers group, who are "committed to capturing the most unique and close-up tornado footage on the market," according to their Facebook page. It shows the rotating updraft of a supercell thunderstorm over eastern Wyoming, according to Weather Channel meteorologist Jon Erdman.

Supercells are the largest, strongest and longest-lasting thunderstorms. They are most common on the Great Plains.

Known as a "low-precipitation" supercell, these types of storms seldom produce heavy rain or tornadoes, though they can produce large hail, Erdman said. (USA Today)
