21 Days of Prayer and Fasting:

DAY TWENTY

"After these things, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, fear not, Abram, I am your shield, your abundant compensation, and your reward shall be exceedingly great." (Genesis 15:1 AMP)

"For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways." (Psalm 91:11)

The Daily Brief

1. Netanyahu Leaves for 'Critical, Historic' Trip to Washington - Israel National News

Speaking to reporters prior to leaving for the US, Netanyahu described his upcoming speech to Congress - which has been the source of considerable tension with the White House - as "a critical mission, even a historic one."

"I feel like an emissary of all of Israel, even those who do not agree with me," he said, adding that "I sense a deep angst for the fate of Israel; I will do everything to assure our future." (Read more)
- Lord God Jehovah, we ask that Your angels would protect, guard and accompany P.M. Netanyahu every place he sets his foot while he is on our land. Keep this dear leader under the shelter of Your wings, we pray, in Jesus' name, amen and amen.

- "For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways." (Psalm 91:11)

2. Netanyahu's address to Congress will be most important speech of his life - Washington Post

Speaking to reporters prior to leaving for the US, Netanyahu described his upcoming speech to Congress - which has been the source of considerable tension with the White House - as "a critical mission, even a historic one."

"I feel like an emissary of all of Israel, even those who do not agree with me," he said, adding that "I sense a deep angst for the fate of Israel; I will do everything to assure our future." (Read more)
- Father God, we ask that You would open the eyes of all who will see P.M. Netanyahu, and open their ears to hear and to receive this historic message he is about to release to our nation. Let it be done according to Your will, Lord. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen and amen.

- And Elisha prayed, "Open his eyes, LORD, so that he may see." (2 Kings 6:17)

3. White House Offers Rebuttal Before Netanyahu's Speech - New York Times

Just four days before Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech to a joint meeting of Congress, the Obama administration sought on Friday to refute the Israeli leader's expected critique, arguing that he has failed to present a feasible alternative to American proposals for constraining Iran's nuclear program.

In a briefing for reporters, senior administration officials contended that even an imperfect agreement that kept Iran's nuclear efforts frozen for an extended period was preferable to a breakdown in talks that could allow the leadership in Tehran unfettered ability to produce enriched uranium and plutonium.

"The alternative to not having a deal is losing inspections," said one senior official, who would not be quoted by name under conditions that the administration set for the briefing, "and an Iran ever closer to having the fissile material to manufacture a weapon." (Read more)
- Father God, we rebuke the lies that even now are beginning to emerge from the White House, and we ask that You grant our own people Your wisdom to recognize that Iran is a dangerous enemy, and that a nuclear Iran would be a disaster. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen and amen.

- " . . . if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven." (Matthew 18:19)

4. Report: Obama threatened to shoot down Israeli jets - WND

President Barack Obama thwarted an Israeli military attack against Iran's nuclear facilities in 2014 by threatening to shoot down Israeli jets before they could reach their targets in Iran, according to a Kuwaiti newspaper cited by the Bethlehem-based news agency Ma'an.

In the wake of Obama's purported threat, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was said to be forced to abort the strike on Iran.

Israel National News published an account of the report from Al-Jarida. It said the Netanyahu government decided to attack Iran "some time in 2014 soon after Israel had discovered the United States and Iran had been involved in secret talks over Iran's nuclear program and were about to sign an agreement in that regard behind Israel's back."

The report claimed an unnamed Israeli minister who has good ties with the Obama administration disclosed details of the attack plan to U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, and that "Obama then threatened to shoot down the Israeli jets before they could reach their targets in Iran." (Read more)
- Abba Father, we fall before You beggng for mercy for what is being exposed here.  It now appears obvious that this administration does not seem concerned with the safety of Your special land Israel and her people.  We as Your remnant stand in the gap for what appears as a constant pattern of serious betrayal of our nation's mutual sharing relationship with Israel and with what we as Christian citizens here support.  Have mercy, Father, we humbly ask. We pray that You will shut down these actions. We pray this in Jesus' Name and under His Shed Blood, Amen and Amen.

- "'Behold, I am against you, O most haughty one!' says the Lord God of hosts; For your day has come, the time that I will punish you.'" (Jeremiah 50:31)

5. Shutdown of Homeland Security averted as Pelosi comes to rescue - The Hill

A partial government shutdown was narrowly avoided late Friday evening as House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) made a surprise move to back legislation funding the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for one week.

Pelosi's support helped Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) move the one-week bill through the House in a 357-60 vote just after 10 p.m., with 55 Republicans and 5 Democrats voting against it. The Senate passed the one-week funding bill in a voice vote. (Read more)

- Lord God, You have worked in strange and unusual ways to allow a temporary alliance to be forged in Congress between Rep. Pelosi and Speaker Boehner, thus enabling the DHS to be funded for one more week without the president's "executive action" on amnesty included. We thank You, Lord, that during the time that P.M. Netanyahu will be here in the country, our Homeland Security will be fully up and running. In Jesus name, amen and amen.

- "He who keeps instruction is in the way of life, but he who refuses correction goes astray." (Proverbs 10:17 NKJV)

6. Republican rebels stand fast against Boehner, amnesty - WND

In the contentious voting over a Homeland Security funding bill Friday night, nearly 50 mostly conservative Republicans openly defied House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio - not once, but twice. Only a last-minute change of heart by Democrat leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., spared the Republican speaker from an embarrassing defeat and a possible shutdown of part of the DHS.

At issue was whether the three-week spending bill backed by GOP leadership would be passed with or without funding President Obama's executive action lifting the threat of deportation from millions of illegal immigrants. Many in Boehner's party were not willing to pass a bill paying for what they're calling Obama's unconstitutional "amnesty" action.

"It does not make any difference whether the funding is for three weeks, three months or a full fiscal year," argued Rep. Mo Brooks, R-Ala., who voted against the measure. "If it's illegal, it's illegal." Fifty-one other Republicans joined Brooks in voting against the measure, leading to a 224-203 defeat for Boehner and the GOP leadership. (Read more)

- Heavenly Father, we lift up praise that these 50 mostly conservative Republicans stood strong in their belief as to the unconstitutionality of the president's 'amnesty' action and refused to vote for a funding bill which would include this 'amnesty' action.  Father, we ask that You encourage and strengthen these congressional members to stay strong and act according to their understanding of our constitutional laws.  We pray this in Jesus' Name, Amen and Amen.

- "He will be . . . a source of strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate." (Isaiah 28:6)

7. Lawmakers won't be silenced over Obama administration's proposed ammo ban - Fox News

Lawmakers are firing back at a proposal by the Obama administration to ban one of the most common bullets used with the popular AR-15 rifle, with more than 100 members of Congress signing a letter opposing the move on ammo.

Word of the  proposal by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to ban .223 M855 "green tip" ammunition came out on Thursday and prompted an immediate backlash from sportsmen. House members from both parties and some law enforcement officials were not far behind.

"[The ban] will interfere with Second Amendment rights by disrupting the market for ammunition that law abiding Americans use for sporting and other legitimate purposes," reads the letter signed by lawmakers and addressed to ATF director Todd Jones. (Read more)
- Heavenly Father, we pray that the lawmakers who are opposing this banning of a common type of gun ammunition will not just protest but will turn it into legitimate action to stop this ongoing move by the executive branch to strip the rights of US citizens.  We know that with You, Father, all things are possible so we ask You, Father, to extend Your right hand over the executive branch to shut down this continuous violation of our basic constitutional rights.  We pray this in Jesus' Name, Amen and Amen.

- "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil." (Isaiah 5:20a NKJV)

8. Colleges using coffers for financial aid to illegal immigrants stirs debate on immigration reform - Fox News

Several U.S. colleges are giving financial aid directly to students who are young illegal immigrants, extending the debate about helping people in the United States illegally at the expense of Americans who in need of similar opportunities.

Such opportunities have opened up since President Obama's 2012 executive action that deferred deportation to millions of young people brought to the U.S. illegal by their parents. These students are largely still not eligible for state or federal student aid. New York University -- which receives federal, state and city money -- says the aid given to illegal immigrants is not at the expense of American students. "This is not taking away from anybody," MJ Knoll-Finn, an N.Y.U. admission officer, told The New York Times, which first reported the story. "This is a formalized way of making sure these students know they're welcome." However, others disagree. (Read more)
- Heavenly Father, it appears that even colleges are giving out special benefits to illegal immigrants to make them feel 'welcome' in our nation.  They say this action will not limit what others receive but it is obvious that if the funds are given to illegal immigrants, it will not be available for current citizens who have a similar need for assistance. Father, so much is being done which appears to show no concern or respect for citizens in this nation who follow the law and yet need benefits. Have mercy upon us, Father, praying this in the Name of Jesus, Amen and Amen.

- "Vindicate me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation; oh, deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man!" (Psalm 43:1 NKJV)

9. 7 Reasons Net Neutrality Is a Threat to Your Freedom - Newsmax

The FCC's Democrat majority voted on Thursday to fix something that ain't broken by approving new regulations for the Internet. Republicans are dissenting, darkly suggesting that the new rules in government hands are a threat.

The commission's chairman, Tom Wheeler, said the new rules will ensure net neutrality by barring Internet service providers like Comcast from charging companies like Netflix for priority data transmission. Considering that ISPs don't do this, and currently treat all data transmission equally, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-California, accused the FCC of trying to "fix something that is far from broken." (Read more)
- Heavenly Father, from all that is being reported, this action to 'fix' the way the internet is managed is trying to fix something that is not 'broken'.  It seems to be a means of the government exerting power and control over another large part of our lives.  Have mercy, Father!  We ask You to deliver us from this evil, in Jesus' Name, Amen and Amen.

- "But those who rebuke the wicked will have delight, and a good blessing will come upon them." (Proverbs 24:25 NKJV)

10. GOP 'fired up' about derailing ObamaNet - WND

Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., is leading the first legislative effort to roll back the federal government's decision to start regulating the Internet as a utility, calling Thursday's action by the Federal Communications Commission the start of the "Obamanet" and a guarantee of more taxes for Internet consumers.

On Thursday, by a party line 3-2 vote, the FCC approved a plan commonly known as net neutrality, but which critics like Blackburn see as unnecessary government intrusion into the private sector.

"This is the day the ObamaNet was born," said Blackburn, who is vice chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. "The Internet is not broken. It does not need the FCC's help and assistance in order to be productive or profitable."

Blackburn is launching the first piece of legislation aimed at rolling back the FCC plan, joining with Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., to repeal a specific provision that trumps their states' laws on broadband service. Read more
- Lord God, we thank You for members of Congress that are "on the ball" and who are acting quickly to reign in the power of the usurper who now occupies the Oval Office. We ask that Your Hand of protection would rest upon these two members of Congress as they work to see this bill passed, in Jesus' name, amen and amen.

- "No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me," Says the Lord." (Isaiah 54:17)

The Middle East in Focus

"Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed," says the LORD, who has compassion on you." (Isaiah 54:10)

1. Netanyahu at Western Wall: I respect Obama, but it's my duty to ensure Israel's security - Jerusalem Post

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu paid a visit to the Western Wall on Saturday night, just hours before flying to Washington on one of the most contentious visits there by an Israeli prime minister in recent memory. With the Wall as his backdrop, Netanyahu said he wanted to visit Judaism's holiest site before embarking on his trip Sunday morning to Washington, where his scheduled speech before Congress on Tuesday has placed him at loggerheads with the White House.

"I want to take this opportunity to say that I respect US President Barack Obama," he stressed. "I believe in the strength of the relationship between Israel and the US and in their strength to overcome differences of opinion, those that have been and those that will yet be."

Netanyahu reiterated his position that, as Israel's prime minister, it is his obligation to worry about the country's security, "and for that reason we strongly oppose the agreement being formulated between the world powers and Iran that could endanger Israel's very existence." (Read more)

2. At AIPAC, Netanyahu-Obama tiff is much ado about (almost) nothing - Times of Israel

WASHINGTON (AFP) - They file into AIPAC by the thousands, intensely supportive of Israel, fearful of a nuclear Iran, and aware that - at least at leadership level - Washington's ties with the Jewish state are under strain. But are American Jews down on the relationship? Are they accusing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of overstepping his bounds by agreeing to address the US Congress shortly before Israeli elections and at the height of international negotiations with Iran? Hardly. At least not those attending the American Israel Public Affairs Committee's annual policy conference Sunday in Washington. (Read more)

3. Anti-Israel divestment push gains traction at US colleges - Associated Press

The lecture hall had filled quickly. Several students wore keffiyehs, the traditional Palestinian headscarves, while another sat draped in the Israeli flag. It was time for a ritual that has become increasingly commonplace on many American college campuses: A student government body, in this case at the University of California, Davis, would take up Israeli policy toward the Palestinians, and decide whether to demand their school divest from companies that work with the Jewish state.

In the United States, Israel's closest ally, the decade-old boycott-divestment-sanctions movement, or BDS, is making its strongest inroads by far on college campuses. No U.S. school has sold off stock and none is expected to do so anytime soon. Still, the current academic year is seeing an increasing number of divestment drives on campus. Since January alone, student governments at four universities have taken divestment votes. (Read more)

4. IDF holds surprise training drill in West Bank -YNET News

The IDF's central command called a massive surprise training exercise in the West Bank on Sunday. The drill was held to test reservists' alertness and to prepare for the possibility of a possible escalation in the West Bank. The drill is the first in three years and takes place only two weeks after IDF Chief of Staff Lt-Gen. Gadi Eisenkot took control of the army, replacing Benny Gantz, who completed his five-year term last month.

The drill saw some 13,000 reservists received phone calls, of which 3,000 were actually called up for duty ahead of a full day of training operations Monday. The drill - which will see two large full scale training operations covering the entire Judea and Samaria (West Bank) region, and will involve armored, artillery and air forces. (Read more)

5. Senior Fatah official calls for using 'force' against Israeli 'occupation' - Jerusalem Post

A senior Fatah official on Saturday called for using "force" to end Israeli "occupation." Tawfik Tirawi, member of the Fatah Central Committee who previously served as head of the Palestinian Authority General Intelligence Service in the West Bank, said that the use of force was the only way to achieve a solution with Israel. 6. Egyptian Court Declares Hamas a 'Terrorist Organization' - NBC News

CAIRO - An Egyptian court declared Hamas a "terrorist organization" on Saturday, further isolating the blockaded rulers of the Gaza Strip once openly welcomed by the country's toppled Islamist-dominated government. The ruling is unlikely to have any immediate effect on Hamas, still reeling from last summer's war with Israel and choked by an Israeli-Egyptian blockade set up in 2007. Moussa Abu Marzouk, Hamas' No. 2 leader, is based in Cairo and is receiving medical treatment there, members of the group say.(Read more)

Iran Cleric Threatens White House

Iran cleric vows to 'raise flag of Islam on White House' to avenge Israeli attack

A senior Iranian cleric with close ties to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed on Friday that "we will raise the flag of Islam over the White House" in response to the killing of Hezbollah and Revolutionary Guards operatives on the Golan Heights last month. According to foreign media, Israeli attack helicopters killed six Hezbollah terrorists along with six Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) operatives, including a high-ranking general.

Among the Hezbollah operatives killed in the strike was Jihad Mougniyeh, the son of Hezbollah's former military leader, Imad Moughniyeh, who according to Western intelligence sources, was in the midst of setting up a terrorism base on the Syrian Golan and plotting rocket attacks, bombings, anti-tank missile strikes, and cross-border infiltrations against Israel. (Jerusalem Post) Read more.

- Heavenly Father, we cannot understand why our leaders continue to negotiate with Iranian leaders when, from this report, they verbalize how they would attack and destroy our nation easily for actions taken by Israel. Father, it is clear that Iran is a threat not just to the Middle Eastern nations around them but also to most of the world. May our leaders soon grasp this truth and act on it, before it is too late. We pray this in Jesus' Name and under His Shed Blood, Amen and Amen.

- "Through You we will push down our enemies; through Your name we will trample those who rise up against us." (Psalm 43:5 NKJV)

Last Week in Arizona . . .

Vandalism in Arizona Shut Down Internet, Cellphone, Telephone Service Across State

Cellphone, Internet, and telephone services across half of Arizona went dark on Wednesday after vandals sliced a sensitive fiber optic cable, according to those familiar with the situation. The incident is raising concerns about the safety of U.S. infrastructure.

The outage shut down critical services across large parts of the state, preventing individuals from using their phones, bank and ATM cards, and the Internet. Critical services, such as police and state government databases, as well as banks and hospitals, also were affected as a result of the vandalism.

The services first went dead around noon MST on Wednesday, causing complete service interruptions across half the state, from Phoenix to such northern cities as Sedona, Prescott, and Cotton Wood, according to an official from CenturyLink, the Louisiana-based communications company that owns the severed line.

"There was a vandalism that took place on a fiber optic cable that basically runs from Phoenix to Northern Arizona," said Alex Juarez, a spokesman for CenturyLink in Arizona. The line, which is composed of extremely thick cable, appeared to have been cut with a hacksaw, according to Juarez. Phoenix police are currently investigating the incident and say they have yet to determine a motivation for the crime.

For some, incidents of this nature have sparked concerns that a domestic or international terrorist could tamper with U.S. infrastructure, throwing state and federal governments into disarray.

"This doesn't look like 'vandalism' but rather like sabotage," said Rachel Ehrenfeld, the founder and CEO of the American Center for Democracy (ACD) and its Economic Warfare Institute (EWI). "Next time it could be both the fiber optic cables and a cell-tower or two." "This reinforces the need to better protect our communication channels and prepare backup systems wherever possible," she said. (Free Beacon) Read more.

- Heavenly Father, we are not sure why this occurred but we take it as a warning to all of us who depend in any way upon these services.  We bring this incident before Your throne asking for protection of these cables throughout our nation and for Your direction to be given to those who are investigating and resolving this incident.  We pray this in the Name of Jesus, Amen and Amen.

- "He who sows iniquity will reap sorrow, and the rod of his anger will fail." (Proverbs 22:8 NKJV)

'Why will no one speak out for us?'

'Why will no one speak out for us?'

Former Rep. Frank Wolf, the leading voice for religious freedom in Congress for decades, says Christianity is on the verge of extinction in Iraq and the remaining steadfast believers do not see much effort from the U.S. or other Western nations to improve their plight.

Wolf served in the House of Representatives from 1981 to 2015. He is the author of the International Religious Freedom Act, which established the International Religious Freedom Office at the State Department and created an ambassador-at-large position to promote religious freedom around the world. That post has been vacant for some time.

Upon leaving the House, Wolf became the first-ever Wilson chair in religious freedom at Baylor University and co-founded the 21st Century Wilberforce Initiative. He co-led a trip to Iraq in January to observe conditions for Christians and other minorities and to speak to people firsthand. The group recently released a report based on that trip titled, "Edge of Extinction: The Eradication of Religious and Ethnic Minorities in Iraq." He said the conclusions of the visit were obvious.

"Two things. They're really suffering and they're really facing extinction," said Wolf, who added that the people there are mystified at the relative silence in the midst of their suffering, since the Islamic State has very real plans to bring its savagery to the West as well.

"The threat ISIS poses is not only to them but to people in the West and, quite frankly, people in the United States," Wolf said. "It's kind of a conglomeration. They kept saying, 'Why will no one in the West speak out for us? Does anyone care?' (WorldNetDaily) Read more.

- Heavenly Father, we thank You for the voice of Former Rep. Frank Wolf which has lifted up a keen awareness of how many of our fellow Christians across the global are paying a very high price to follow You.  Challenge us, Father, to grow to be the kind of Christians that these saints are. Help us, Lord, to understand that they are our brothers and sisters in Christ, with needs we should be helping them meet. We pray this in Jesus' Name and under His Shed Blood, Amen and Amen.

- "Blessed is he who considers the poor; the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble." (Psalm 41:1 NKJV)

ISIS Fighter Converts to Christianity After Allah Refuses Him
"Entrance to Gates of Heaven"

Aleppo | An ISIS jihadist has recently converted to Christianity after being left for dead near the Eastern border of Syria where he was finally rescued by Christian missionaries from the region, reports the Aleppo Herald this morning.

The man, that has miraculously survived multiple gun shot wounds after an altercation between ISIS and Syrian Army forces, was rescued by members of the Saint Dominican Catholic Presbytery of Ayyash hours after the conflict had erupted.

The members of the Christian organization wanted to give the man a proper Christian burial and carried him over 26 kilometers before the man miraculously came back to life as he was believed to have died from his wounds.

As the man came back to his senses, he reported to priest Hermann Groschlin of the visions he had whilst in the afterlife, an event that profoundly changed the 32-year old jihadist and eventually led to his conversion to Christianity days later.

"He told me that he was always taught that to die as a martyr would open him the Gates of Jannah, or Gates of Heaven" recalled the priest. "Yet, as he had started to ascend towards the light of the Heavens, devilish entities, or Jinns he called them, appeared and led him to the fiery pits of Hell. There he had to relive all the pain he had inflicted upon others and every death he had caused throughout his entire life. He even had to relive the decapitations of his victims through their own eyes", images the jihadist claims will haunt him for the rest of his life, admits the priest.

"Then Allah, or God, spoke unto him and told him that he had failed miserably as a human soul, that he would be banned from the Gates of Heaven if he chose to die, but that if he chose to live again, he would have another chance to repent of his sins and walk along God's path once again"
The young man claims he was brought back to life moments later and eventually converted to Christianity days later, believing he had been misled throughout his religious life under the worship of Allah.

The young man, whose wounds have surprisingly healed in a very short time, has chosen to live amongst the members of the Catholic presbytery who rescued him from the desert and hopes his story will help other ISIS fighters change their ways and convert to the one and only true God, the priest told local reporters. (World News Daily) Read more.

Note: The man was believed to be dead for hours before he suddenly came back to life, recalls priest Hermann Groschlin, who discovered the body of the young man.

HALLELUJAH FATHER GOD!

We can hear the sound of those shofars today . . . resounding through the heavens. Praise the LORD!

Fireball & sonic boom witnessed from Florida to South Carolina

Residents of the Sunshine State say they spotted a massive fireball soar through the Florida sky over the [last] weekend, and similar reports have since surfaced from as far away as South Carolina.

According to the American Meteorological Society (AMS), 189 people have filed reports since late Saturday evening, when they saw a fireball cut through the night sky. At least 15 eyewitnesses described seeing the phenomenon accompanied by what the AMS called a "window rattling delayed boom."

It "sounded like an explosion," a witness, who gave her name as Kasey W. from Lake City, FL, told the AMS. Another person who said she encountered the fireball, Lindsey E., also of Lake City, said her "windows and walls shook along with a loud pop and boom." The AMS has logged reports from supposed witnesses in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina, and experts told local media that the apparent sightings seem to suggest a meteor is to blame.
"The fact that people heard sonic booms [means] it did survive down to the lower atmosphere," Robert Lunsford, a volunteer with the AMS, told Jacksonville's WJXT. "So there's a good chance that some small fragments may have reached the ground probably about 50 miles west of Jacksonville."
"The best way I can describe it is it looked like a large firework," witness Tracie Sradley told Jacksonville's Action News. "But then there was a big ball of fire behind it and as quick as we seen it, it was gone."

The fireball, Sradley said, was "just like the brightest, the prettiest - it was actually gorgeous, it was beautiful."

According to the AMS, reports from across the Deep South suggest the meteor was heading northeast and indeed met its demise just west of Jacksonville - around 250 miles south of Augusta, GA, where some witness reports were filed. (RT.com.USA) Read more.
