7. Navy displays defense plan for gas rigs off Haifa coast -Jerusalem Post

Some 25 km. off the coast on Wednesday, under a searing sun, the INS Lahav Sa'ar-5 class missile corvette stops near a drilling rig in the Yam Tethys gas field.

Nearby, a Rafael-produced Protector unmanned sea vehicle, equipped with a remote-control weapons station, speeds through the shiny blue Mediterranean waters, carrying out defensive maneuvers.

Inside the INS Lahav's darkened Battle Information Center, a myriad of computer screens flash data to operators who are in charge of defenses, offensive capabilities and intelligence gathering.

The Israel Navy was revealing some of its defensive doctrine for the country's exclusive economic waters - where Israel has special rights regarding marine resources - and its strategically vital gas drilling sites, which form highly visible and attractive targets for enemies like Hezbollah and Hamas.

The Daily Brief

1. U.S. Shadowing Russian Ship in Atlantic Near Nuclear Submarine Areas - Washington Free Beacon

U.S. intelligence ships, aircraft, and satellites are closely watching a Russian military vessel in the Atlantic that has been sailing near a U.S. nuclear missile submarine base and underwater transit routes, according to Pentagon officials.

The Russian research ship Yantar has been tracked from the northern Atlantic near Canada since late August as it makes its way south toward Cuba.

Defense officials familiar with reports on the Russian ship say the Yantar is believed to be gathering intelligence on underwater sensors and other equipment used by U.S. nuclear submarines based at Kings Bay, Georgia. The submarines, their transit lanes, and training areas stretch from the coastal base through the Atlantic to Europe. (Read more)

- Father God, while they are watching us, we know that You are watching them. We turn to You, O Mighty One, and ask that You would show us Your mercy once again, O Lord. We ask that their efforts to pick up intelligence about our own movements be made null and void by the Blood of the Lamb, and that our own people will yet be kept safe from Russian aggression. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen and amen.

- "For He will give His angels charge concerning you, To guard you in all your ways." (Psalm 91:11)

2. One Marine Killed, 11 Hurt in Helicopter Hard Landing at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina - NBC News

One Marine was killed and 11 others were injured when their helicopter made a hard landing Wednesday night at Campe Lejeune, North Carolina, the U.S. Marine Corps said.

The Marines aboard the CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter were taking part in a training exercise when the accident occurred around 9 p.m., officials said in a statement.

The name of the deceased was not immediately released pending next of kin notification.

Of the 11 hurt, nine were released from the hospital and two are in stable condition. The landing remains under investigation, Capt. Kendra Motz told NBC News.(Read more)

- Lord, we pray for Your comfort for these families of the men affected, and healing for those who were injured.

3. 5 Chinese warships spotted off Alaska coast during President Obama's visit - Fox News

Five Chinese navy ships have been spotted in the Bering Sea, off the Alaska coast, coinciding with President Obama's visit to the state, a senior defense official confirmed to Fox News.

Navy Commander Bill Urban, a Pentagon spokesman, said Wednesday the sighting marked the first time ships from the People's Liberation Army Navy were seen in the Bering Sea. (Read more)

- Father, as we live in unsettling times, we ask Your protection over Mr. Obama and all American interests in Alaska.

  - "No weapon formed against you shall prosper." (Isaiah 54:17)

4. Obama builds Senate firewall but Iran debate far from over - Fox News

President Obama would seem to have the necessary support to preserve his Iran nuclear deal in a congressional vote later this month, after securing the backing of a critical 34th senator Wednesday. But the debate is far from over.

"Forcing a bad deal, over the objections of the American people and a majority in Congress, is no win for President Obama," said Cory Fritz, spokesman for House Speaker John Boehner."

The White House may have convinced just enough Democrats to back an agreement that legitimizes Iran's nuclear program, trusts the regime to self-inspect and offers amnesty to terrorists, but this deal is far from being implemented." (Read more)

- Lord, even though the President is said to have the votes to override his veto, we pray that You will work on the hearts of all concerned to reveal truth to them. Let those who side with the President be given visions and knowledge of what the consequences of their actions will be.

  - "In disquieting thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, fear came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones shake." (Job 4:13,14)

5. Retired Military Leaders: Iran Nuke Deal Makes War More Likely - Washington Free Beacon

The nuclear agreement with Iran will increase the likelihood of military conflict, according to a council of prominent retired military leaders and intelligence officials.

The Jewish Institute for National Security Affair's (JINSA) Iran Strategy Council released a report Wednesday that contends that the United States will be in a "far worse position to prevent a nuclear Iran" after 10 to 15 years of the agreement regarding Tehran's nuclear capacity, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

"Implementing JCPOA will have significant strategic consequences for our interests and allies in the region," retired Gen. James Conway and retired Air Force Gen. Chuck Wald, who together chair the council, said in a statement.

According to the report, "the agreement increases both the probability and danger of hostilities with Iran." (Read more)

- Lord God, we thank You for these men in uniform, who have formerly served our people with great authority, knowledge, wisdom and skill. We ask that You would turn the heart of this "king," Barack Hussein Obama, to hear and to heed their advice. Abba Father God, we declare and decree an end to the Iranian nuclear deal in the halls of the United States Congress and in the White House. Lord God, let our nation take no part in these negotiations. We ask for this miracle in Jesus' name, amen and amen.

- "You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples." (Psalm 77:4)

6. Kerry Promises Israel, Saudis Money In Wake of Iran Nuclear Deal - Washington Free Beacon

Secretary of State John Kerry on Wednesday moved to reassure Congress that Israel and America's Gulf State allies would be fully taken care of in the wake of the Iran nuclear deal, which Kerry acknowledged would not stop Iran's support for terrorism, according to a letter sent by the secretary of state to lawmakers. Just moments after the White House secured enough votes to override a congressional veto of the Iran deal, a letter from Kerry appeared in the inboxes of congressional offices across Capitol Hill.

Kerry admits that, despite the deal, Iran will continue to back terrorist groups across the globe and promises to boost military support and funding to Israel and Gulf states such as Saudi Arabia, according to a copy of the letter obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

The letter comes in response to concerns among lawmakers, Israel, and other Gulf region allies that the nuclear accord will boost the Islamic Republic's support for terrorism, while leaving traditional U.S. allies on the defense. (Read more)

- Lord, this amounts to an attempt to bribe our allies. We pray that You will intervene to protect Israel and the United States in light of the nuclear "deal," and bring the convicting power of the Holy Spirit to our leadership.

  - "And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and or judgment." (John 16:8)

7. IG report: 300,000 vets died while waiting for health care at VA - Fox News

More than 300,000 American military veterans likely died while waiting for health care -- and nearly twice as many are still waiting -- according to a new Department of Veterans Affairs inspector general report.

The IG report says "serious" problems with enrollment data are making it impossible to determine exactly how many veterans are actively seeking health care from the VA, and how many were. For example, "data limitations" prevent investigators from determining how many now-deceased veterans applied for health care benefits or when. (Read more)

- Father, this unconscionable situation had left our military veterans without proper medical care for years. We ask for a solution to save these lives, and change the system that has caused this travesty to occur.

-  "Assuredly I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me." ( Matthew 25:45)

8. Legionnaires' outbreak in Illinois kills 8, sickens 41 - Jerusalem Post

Legionnaires' disease has killed an eighth person in Quincy, Illinois, and sickened 41, mostly at a veterans home, health and veterans affairs officials said on Wednesday.

The latest death occurred outside the Illinois Veterans' Home, the officials said, adding that three others were sickened in the city and six more at the veterans home, the officials said. (Read more)

- Father we bind up this outbreak of Legionnaires and loose the healing power of Jesus Christ  into that facility to stop the cycle.

  - "Behold I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you." (Luke 10:19)

9. Atheists Demand 'No Gods' Statue in Arkansas After State Approves Ten Commandments Monument - Christian Post

Tablets depicting the Ten Commandments placed outside the Supreme Court during a vigil by a religious group in a file photo. The division between church and state is a core principle of American democracy, but courts have long struggled to find exactly where the dividing line falls.

After a statue of the Ten Commandments was officially approved to be erected on the grounds of the Arkansas state capitol last month, a Wisconsin-based group called the Freedom from Religion Foundation is demanding that a statue be erected representing atheism.

While the Ten Commandments commands Christians to honor "the Lord thy God," the FFRF statue would offer the opposite, "there are no gods." (Read more)

- Lord, we pray that You will rebuke this organization in a mighty way, and cause a groundswell of Your people to rise up against them. Father, as long as we remain silent, they will continue to run roughshod over Christianity in America.

  - " . . . a time to keep silence and a time to speak . . ." (Eccl 3:7)

10. Four hurricanes swirling, more dangerous weather on tap - Fox News

Forecasters are keeping a wary eye on four hurricanes -- two of which are Category 4 -- feeding off the warm waters of the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. Hurricane triplets Kilo, Ignacio and Jimena have simultaneously formed in the central Pacific. It's the first time three hurricanes that held a Category 3 rating or stronger had formed in the central and eastern Pacific basins at the same time. (Read more)

- Lord, we are amazed at Your power being displayed  in the Pacific for the first time in recorded history. We ask for Your mercy, and pray for the people of the region to be touched by Your Spirit.

- "O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy." (Habakkuk 3:2)

Advancing the prophecy clock--the US-Iran deal

Not since President Jimmy Carter sanctioned the deposing of the Shah of Iran, which resulted in the establishment of the "democratic" Ayatollah Sharia dictatorship and the birth of a modern terrorist state, has an event had such powerful prophetic implications. The securing of the 34th Democratic vote in the US Senate by the current "president" will empower him to complete a deal with Iran that will allow the terrorist state to build a nuclear bomb over the next ten years and pay them over $300 billion to do it. Americans, in having leadership who would do such an evil act, are crossing over into that dark area of coming against Israel by bolstering an enemy with deadly power. There will be prophetic consequences.

The Jerusalem Post revealed Wednesday an Iran Fars News Agency release where Revolutionary Guards Tehran commander Brigadier General Mohsen Kazzemeini said, "They (the US and the Zionists) should know that the Islamic Revolution will continue enhancing its preparedness until it overthrows Israel and liberates Palestine. And we will continue defending not just our own country, but also all the oppressed people of the world, especially those countries that are standing on the forefront of confrontation with the Zionists." Thanks to Senate Democrats and the "president," America will be part and parcel to funding and empowering this end time player.

As fellow watchman and White House Correspondent Bill Koenig has documented in his book "Eye to Eye: Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel," whenever the US has taken action against Israel there have been political, financial or natural disasters within a 48-72 hour period. The "president" secured the last vote needed to allow his Iran deal with Maryland Senator Barbara Mikulski committing to support Iran over Israel. Iran, modern day Persia, is specifically mentioned in the Ezekiel 38 prophecy of nations joining with the beast coalition and coming against Israel "in that day," referring to the Day of the Lord. Iran having a nuclear weapon today, tomorrow, or a decade from now, advances the prophecy clock.

The end time prophecies will be fulfilled, no question. But the nations that participate in coming against Israel will suffer. At this moment, America is among them. Watch and pray between now and mid-month when the Iran deal is voted on by Congress. These are perilous times. In the beginning of the Abrahamic Covenant where God establishes Israel through the line of Abraham, the Lord says in Genesis 12:3, "I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curses thee." When the Lord redeems Israel and judges the earth upon His return, He says in Zechariah 12:3, "And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces..." We may be in for a rough ride unless our leadership changes. Our future is held in the balance of the next 14 days.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Supreme clash of marriage and religious rights

The Supreme Court decision that redefined traditional marriage has caused a clash between a new, unmentioned constitutional right created by an activist court and the traditional First Amendment right to free speech and religious expression. The Supreme Court issued its edict, throwing the nation into a conflict with its most valued right: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." Now citizens are about to go to jail for their religious beliefs.

In Morehead, Kentucky, Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis, a Democrat, is defying a federal judge's order to issue same sex marriage licenses due to her religious convictions as a Christian. According to the Kentucky Herald-Leader, she was asked by protesters, "Under whose authority are you not issuing marriage licenses?" She responded, "Under God's authority." She said, "I never imagined a day like this would come, where I would be asked to violate a central teaching of Scripture and of Jesus himself regarding marriage. I was elected by the people to serve as the county clerk. I intend to continue to serve the people of Rowan County, but I cannot violate my conscience." She faces contempt fines.

Similar is the plight of Irion County, Texas, County Clerk Molly Criner. She wrote a declaration of "Obedience to Law and Defense of Natural Marriage" for County Clerks to sign. In her accompanying letter to Clerks, she wrote: "Not a few of you have, happily or unhappily, come to the conclusion that to keep your oath, you must uphold the Supreme Court ruling. I have come to the opposite conclusion: to keep my oath to uphold the Constitution, I must reject this ruling that I believe is lawless." According to a source with intimate knowledge of the case, Criner is being supported by her commissioners, but the Attorney General refused to write an opinion on her action. State representatives are considering legislative remedies.

The Supreme Court set up a battle that will be waged across the United States that tests the foundation stone of freedom in this country--the First Amendment. How a private sexual practice could even be considered to trump religious freedom and freedom of speech is unimaginable. Kim Davis and Molly Criner are putting their lives on the line. The question is: Will America stand by and watch, or will it support these righteous elected officials? Will we go quietly into the night, or do what the Apostle Paul prays for in Ephesians 6:20, "that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak"? The Supreme Court ruling was not only unconstitutional, it challenges the basis of your freedom. Stand in prayer and action!

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Cover our Police Officers

EXECUTE THE JUDGMENT WRITTEN FROM THE LAW OF GOD OVER OUR POLICE OFFICERS:

Hello All, Watching the news on the IL (Chicago area) police officer shooting. There has been a rash of these in Louisiana and TX the past few months. We have begun to rise up and speak the Word over our law enforcement officers. Since this has happened in your state, we wanted to share what we've been decreeing:

EXECUTE THE JUDGMENT WRITTEN FROM THE LAW OF GOD OVER OUR POLICE OFFICERS:

"For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light." Therefore, these murderers are to be apprehended and brought to justice. All tactics and strategies of darkness, working through demonic spirits and the hearts of evil, wicked mean are exposed, laid bare, and brought to nothing.

We speak life to those who bear the sword for righteous and justice. For it is written, they "do not bear the sword in vain. . . " (Romans 13:4)

We re-present what Jesus has already done to "destroy the one who had the power of death . . ." (Hebrews 2:14) We command every foul spirit of darkness aligned with any assignment to kill a law enforcement officer to cease and desist. Jesus has destroyed your work, and we execute His judgment against you.

And to all who have murdered and would act to murder a law enforcement officer from this time forth, hear the Law of the LORD: "If anyone strikes someone a fatal blow with an iron object, that person is a murderer; the murderer is to be put to death." (Numbers 35:16) We execute this law of the LORD against you, from which you are unable to hide.

Love to all, Pam
And from CHPP:
We bind the spirit of LAWLESSNESS that has been unleashed against those who keep the LAW in our land, and we loose the spirit of grace and truth on the streets of our nation. Keep them all safe, we ask O Lord, in Jesus' name, amen and amen.

The LORD is our Shepherd . . .

"The LORD is our Shepherd . . ."

A Commentary from CHPP

For many years now, we and many others we know have been blessed by closing our own times of corporate prayer by sharing the Cup of Communion, and by reciting the Lord's prayer.

How wonderful it is to know that the Lord is, indeed, our Father!
. . . Recently, though, we have sensed a shift in the Spirit, and a desire to come to know the Lord afresh -- not only as our Father, but now as our Shepherd . . .

God is so good, and He is so faithful! Might He be drawing us unto Himself in a new way . . . a way that allows us to rest in His arms, and in His safekeeping, by coming to know Him as our Shepherd?

Please take some time this weekend to meditate upon the powerful words and the promises of the 23rd Psalm with us. Thank You, Jesus! Amen!

Psalm 23

23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

King James Version (KJV)

Prayer Partners Responding to our Seminar:

"How to Reach the Lost for Christ"

We were pleased to offer this one-hour seminar during the day on Tuesday and will now repeat this teaching tomorrow (Friday) during the night at 9:00 p.m. EDT.

We are sharing the feedback of two of our listeners, below, and we invite all of you to join us as we listen in on Friday night to learn how to respond to the Lord's burden for souls in this end-time hour.

Our conference number is: 712-432-0075

The access code is: 412850#

Patti Kelleher will lead this teaching. Welcome!

From Sandra in Texas:

"Just wanted to let you know that I listened in on the conference call last night about soul-winning. It was fascinating and very helpful to hear how the people today are thinking. It was good to hear the suggestions, too. I hope more and more people can listen in on these sessions. I am a different generation than the current generation coming into young adulthood and different than those who may be older but did not grow up with the Gospel. It is whole different way of thinking. I especially liked the question to ask "How is that working out for you?" Tell Patti thank you!"

And from Yvette in Virginia:

"Just a quick THANK YOU! for hosting the Evangelism call with Patti. She is such a dear!

I liked the tips she shared about approaching and relating to people where they are. Especially at the end someone shared about doing what I would call: "cold-call Evangelism".

Wow! I had never thought of that but I have done it for campaigns of politicians . . . so, why not for the Kingdom of the Lord?!!

This was really, really good! Thank you Sara :)"

Yvette.

And a special thank you from us!

Many thanks to Patti for a job very well done on Tuesday! Our prayer now is that many others will be able to phone in tomorrow night (Friday) and be blessed by her wisdom, her wit, and her words. Amen!

Our Grandmothers' Songs

Songs Our Grandmothers Sang:

IMMORTAL, INVISIBLE, GOD ONLY WISE

"To the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever." (1 Timothy 1:17)

Lyrics

Immortal, invisible, God only wise, In light inaccessible hid from our eyes, Most blessèd, most glorious, the Ancient of Days, Almighty, victorious, Thy great Name we praise.

Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light, Nor wanting, nor wasting, Thou rulest in might; Thy justice, like mountains, high soaring above Thy clouds, which are fountains of goodness and love.

To all, life Thou givest, to both great and small; In all life Thou livest, the true life of all; We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree, And wither and perish-but naught changeth Thee.
Great Father of glory, pure Father of light, Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight; But of all Thy rich graces this grace, Lord, impart Take the veil from our faces, the vile from our heart.
All laud we would render; O help us to see 'Tis only the splendor of light hideth Thee, And so let Thy glory, Almighty, impart, Through Christ in His story, Thy Christ to the heart.

NASA: Rising sea levels more dangerous than thought

The consequences of global sea level rise could be even scarier than the worst-case scenarios predicted by the dominant climate models, which don't fully account for the fast breakup of ice sheets and glaciers, NASA scientists said Aug. 26 at a press briefing.

What's more, sea level rise is already occurring. The open question, NASA scientists say, is just how quickly the seas will rise in the future. (Read more)

Legal Victory For March For Life against Obama's Abortion Mandate

(Washington, DC)-The group behind the world's largest pro-life event has prevailed in court against Barack Obama's abortion-pill mandate.

A federal court issued an order Monday in the March for Life v. Burwell case that permanently forbids the Obama administration from enforcing its contraceptive mandate against the March for Life Education and Defense Fund or its employees.

It is the first order granted in favor of an organization opposed to the mandate for pro-life reasons based upon moral convictions rather than religion, according to the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), which represented the March for Life in the case.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia said the Obama administration cannot force the March for Life or its employees to act contrary to their personal pro-life beliefs, drawing from the very exemption put forth by the administration.

"If the purpose of the religious employer exemption is, as HHS states, to respect the anti-abortifacient tenets of an employment relationship," the Court said, "then it makes no rational sense-indeed, no sense whatsoever to deny March for Life that same respect."
