2. PLO delays leadership elections at last minute - YNET News

The two officials said the last-minute postponement came because of insufficient time for preparations for the vote, initially set for next week.

Abbas had called a meeting of the PLO's parliament, the Palestinian National Council, for September 14 and 15. The council was to elect a new PLO leadership body, or Executive Committee. Critics have alleged Abbas wanted to use the hastily arranged session to sideline rivals and promote loyalists. (Read more)

3. Netanyahu to EU: Stop pressuring us into agreements that endanger our existence - Jerusalem Post

The European Union must stop pressuring Israel to enter dangerous agreements that threaten the future of the Jewish state, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in Jerusalem on Monday night.

Europe "seeks to unilaterally press Israel into agreements that will endanger our very existence and therefore your very defense," Netanyahu publicly told visiting European Council President Donald Tusk prior to holding a private discussion with him.

Netanyahu said he was glad to see Tusk both as a representative of the EU and as a personal friend. "I've known you for many years. You've been a great friend of Israel, of the Jewish people, and may I say of me personally," Netanyahu told Tusk. (Read more)

4. Israel develops palm-sized flying nuclear detectors - Times of Israel

Israeli nuclear researchers have developed a micro-copter capable of tracking nuclear radiation in difficult terrain.

The palm-sized drones, developed with funding from the US Department of Energy, were invented in Israel's Negev Nuclear Research Center, better known as the Dimona nuclear facility, where foreign governments believe Israel developed and may house a nuclear arsenal, Haaretz reported Tuesday.

The micro-copters are essentially undetectable and can collect data on radioactivity emanating from underground sites, even in rugged terrain that can be difficult to reach on the ground or view from space. (Read more)

5. Report: Moscow purchased 10 Israeli drones - Jerusalem Post

Russia has purchased 10 Israeli intelligence-gathering drones this year, an independent Russian newspaper reported in recent days.

According to a report published in Vedomosti on September 4, which was made available to The Jerusalem Post by Israeli journalist Shimon Briman, the Russian Defense Ministry purchased Israel Aerospace Industries-made Searcher-type drones, which are known as Forpost (Outpost) in Russia. 6. Fear of Inter-Religious Tension as Jewish and Muslim High Holidays Coincide This Year - Algemeiner The Jewish High Holiday of Yom Kippur and the Muslim feast of Eid Al-Adha are set to fall this year on the same Gregorian (or Christian) calendar date, September 23, Israeli news site nrg reported on Monday.

According to the report, far from carrying potential for Muslim-Jewish inter-religious dialogue, this coincidence could lead to friction between Jews and Arabs in Israel, due to the diametrically opposed nature of the holidays.

To help diffuse any potential tensions that may arise, and to promote mutual respect and tolerance between the two religious communities, the Abraham Fund, a charity which promotes religious integration in Israel, produced a video that will be broadcast on Israel's leading television channels and spread on social media. The aim of the video, in Arabic and Hebrew, is to raise awareness of the complementary nature of both holidays. (Read more)

7. Why did Prime Minister Netanyahu cancel his pre-holiday interviews? - Jerusalem Online

Netanyahu had scheduled three interviews with Israeli media outlets but canceled them all just hours before. The Prime Minister's Office said the interviews had been canceled for scheduling reasons and preparations for his trip on Wednesday to London.

For a long time, Netanyahu had refrained from answering journalists' questions and from interviewing to Israeli media outlets. Last week, Netanyahu scheduled a press conference following the decision to reduce the VAT and corporate tax. At the last moment, the Prime Minister's Office decided not to allow reporters to ask questions. Instead, Netanyahu and Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon delivered short statements. (Read more)

1. Same Judge Who Jailed Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis Orders Her Release - Breitbart; CBN

UPDATE: According to a Breitbart report, Kim Davis, the Rowan County clerk who refused to issue same-sex marriage licenses citing her Christian faith, and was sent to jail last week, is now being released. District Judge David Bunning reportedly issued Davis' release from the Carter County Detention Center on Tuesday, he was the same judge who had ordered her to jail without bail last Thursday.

[CBN News] Attorneys for Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis had officially appealed a judge's decision to jail her for refusing to issue marriage licenses to gay couples [because of her Christian faith].

As hundreds of Davis supporters rallied outside the Carter County Detention Center this weekend, her lawyer said his client was in good spirits and showing incredible resilience. (Read more)

- We thank You, Lord, for this Esther, whom You have brought to the kingdom for such a time as this! We admire her tenacity and her total commitment to her deeply held beliefs, even in the face of persecution. Bless her Lord, strengthen her resolve and give wisdom to her counsel in proceeding with this situation. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.

- "Fear nothing that you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is indeed about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested and proved and critically appraised. Be loyally faithful unto death [even if you must die for it] and I will give you the Crown of Life." (Rev. 2:10)

2. Cheney: Nuke Deal Enables Iran to Eradicate Israel In 'One Day' - FreeBeacon.com

Former Vice President Dick Cheney warned that the recently inked nuclear deal with Iran is "madness" and that it will enable the Islamic Republic to wage a new Holocaust against Israel that would destroy the Jewish state in just "one day."

"This deal gives Tehran the means to launch a nuclear attack on the U.S. homeland, it threatens the security of our Arab allies across the middle east, it threatens the security of Europe, and it should not be forgotten this deal has vast implications for the future security of the Jewish people," Cheney said during a speech Monday morning at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI).

"It took Nazi Germany seven years to kill six million Jews," Cheney said. "It would take a nuclear-armed Iran one day." (Read more)

- Father, we thank You that our former Vice-President, Dick Cheney, has spoken his mind concerning this horrible deal with Iran, and his concern for our nation, and for Israel. We come to You, humbly asking for Your mercy and Your intervention. We don't know how to 'stop this train', but You do, and we ask that You would. Israel is Your Land, leased by You to the Jews, and they and we, are Your people, and our trust is in You alone! In Yeshua's Name we pray, Amen.

- "Teach me Your way, O Lord, and lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies. Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries; For false witnesses have risen against me, And such as breathe out violence. I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!" (Psalm 27:11-14)

3a. Three more Senate Democrats back Iran deal, reached key number of 41 Senators - watch.org

In a last-minute show of support for the administration, Democratic Senators Richard Blumenthal, Ron Wyden and Gary Peters all announced Tuesday that they would support the Iran nuclear deal and vote against a resolution of disapproval later this week. The senators' announcement brought the total of Democrats supporting the deal to 41, enough to potentially allow them to filibuster the resolution and prevent it from coming to a vote at all.

In his announcement, Blumenthal unveiled a framework, co-authored by a prominent Democratic opponent of the Iran deal, to strengthen Israel and mitigate Iran's ability to further influence the region. The Senate is expected to begin debate on a resolution of disapproval of the deal on Tuesday afternoon. The Republican majority - together with a handful of Democratic senators who oppose it - are expected pass the resolution - but only if a vote can actually be held. In order for cloture to be called, allowing debate to end and a vote taken, 60 senators must vote in favor.(Read more)

3b. Senate Dems secure enough votes to block GOP-led resolution against Iran nuclear deal - Fox News

Democrats clinched the crucial Senate votes Tuesday to block passage of a disapproval resolution against the Iran nuclear accord, an outcome that would be a major victory for President Obama against united Republican opposition.

But amid fast-paced developments as lawmakers returned to Washington from their five-week summer recess, supporters of the deal stopped short of declaring victory. That was because it remained uncertain whether all 41 Democratic and independent senators now on record in favor of the deal would also support a filibuster to block a final vote on the disapproval resolution. (Read more)

- Lord, You are not mocked. These games all these politicians are playing to get what they want, without voting on it, seem so spineless. These are supposed to be our leaders, those who represent us, who love our nation, as we do. And yet, they will not stand up and be counted. Forgive us, Lord, for electing them, and give us Your mind to do better in all the upcoming elections, we pray, in Jesus Name, Amen.

"My soul yearns for You [O Lord] in the night, yes, my spirit within me seeks You earnestly; for only when Your judgments are in the earth will the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. Though favor is shown to the wicked, yet they do not learn righteousness; in the land of uprightness they deal perversely and refuse to see the majesty of the Lord." (Isaiah 26:9-10)

4. Congressman Gohmert Introducing Resolution to Declare Iran Deal a Treaty - Townhall.com

On March 11, 2015, Secretary of State John Kerry said the Obama administration was "not negotiating a legally binding plan" with Iran and therefore their nuclear agreement did not have to be submitted to Congress for approval. Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) is ready to challenge that notion by putting forward a resolution that would define the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action as a treaty.

The Corker-Cardin bill, a.k.a. the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act of 2015, was introduced as an accountability tool for the Iranian deal, requiring a 'yes' or 'no' vote from Congress. Yet, as more details about the Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action (JCPOA) have surfaced, Corker and Cardin's effort has become basically null, Rep. Gohmert is convinced. The Obama administration, he asserts, left Congress in the dark about the specifics of JCPOA.

For instance, the Corker-Cardin bill was only meant to rein in nuclear sanctions, but JCPOA allows for a lifting of sanctions on ballistic missiles and international arms embargoes. Congress also had no clue about the side deals allowing Iran to inspect itself at nuclear sites.

"A nuclear-arms agreement with any adversary-especially the terror-sponsoring, Islamist Iranian regime-should be submitted as a treaty and obtain a two-thirds majority vote in the Senate as required by the Constitution," he said. (Read more)

- Lord God, we thank You for the wisdom You have given to Congressman Gohmert, and for his own deep love of Israel. We thank You that Congressman Gohmert is proposing legislation that will correct the inherent flaw in how Congress is approaching this matter, both defining the "deal" to be the treaty that it is, and bringing this entire matter under the Constitution. We ask for favor for this bill when it is proposed in the House, and for swift passage in both chambers, amen and amen.

- "Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 18:19)

5. Glenn Beck to Join Trump, Cruz at Stop Iran Deal Rally - Israel National News

Conservative talk show host Glenn Beck is joining 2016 presidential contenders Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) at a "Stop the Iran Deal Rally" at the Capitol next Wednesday (Sept. 9), according to The Hill. The rally is being organized by the Tea Party Patriots, Center for Security Policy, and Zionist Organization of America. It will take place one day after lawmakers return from their recess and just ahead of a vote on the deal negotiated with Iran over its nuclear program.

"Glenn Beck's decision to speak on September 9th at the Stop the Iran Deal Rally underlines the momentum behind the movement to stop President Obama's nuclear deal with Iran," said Tea Party Patriots CEO and co-founder Jenny Beth Martin in a statement. Martin said Beck's appearance would help "give voice to the millions of Americans who oppose this dangerous nuclear deal with Iran."

"Every day, more Americans are learning this deal ignores our Constitution by avoiding the treaty process and makes the world a more dangerous place by undermining both our national security and the security of our allies in the Middle East," she said. "The Stop the Iran Deal Rally will ensure those millions of voices are heard by everyone inside the U.S. Capitol." (Read more)

- Father God, as we write this prayer alert, it is estimated that several thousand people will descend upon Capitol Hill tomorrow to voice their opposition to this deal with Iran. We ask for a change of heart on the part of those senators who now support this deal, as they see and hear the desperate pleas of our people. Please change the hearts of these senators, Lord, and cause them to change their votes. In the name of Jesus Christ we offer this prayer, amen and amen.

- "First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority . . ." (I Timothy 2:1-4)

6. Counterterrorism Chair: We Have to Assume ISIS or Al Qaeda Would Try to Take Advantage of Refugee Situation - CNSNews.com

Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.), chairman of the House Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence, said what's happening in Europe is a "terrible humanitarian crisis," and while "every effort must be made," he also warned of potential danger if the United States admits Syrians and others who are not thoroughly vetted.

"We had a hearing on this just several months ago in my subcommittee. The clear consensus is that there is a real concern," King told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on Monday. "We have to assume that ISIS or al Qaeda would try to take advantage of this situation."

King said his obligation -- and that of the U.S. government -- is to protect American citizens: "So we have to have a very thorough vetting process. And when people talk about large numbers coming there, I don't see how we could do that, because we have no intelligence on the ground. There's no way of knowing without extensive vetting and investigation who these people are, what their background is. (Read more)

- Lord, we want to help those refugees that need help, but surely our enemies are sly like foxes, and will naturally try to take advantage of our generosity in giving aid to the very ones they themselves have victimized, and then enter our country under false pretenses. We ask that You would give us wisdom in setting up systems of investigation, and the vetting process, in order to protect ourselves and our people. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.

- "For wisdom will enter your heart, knowledge will be enjoyable for you, discretion will watch over you,and discernment will guard you. They will save you from the way of evil and from those who speak deceitfully." (Proverbs 2:10-12)

7. Ten Obama regulations to watch - The Hill

The window is already closing on President Obama's regulatory agenda, and agencies across the federal government are moving to crank out a slew of new rules before election year politics bring business in Washington to a virtual standstill.

Obama has made no bones about using the power of his office to accomplish his policy goals in lieu of congressional action, presiding over numerous controversial regulations in the energy, healthcare and financial sectors, among many others. With more than a year left, the administration will continue to promulgate regulations until the clock runs out.

Here are ten of the most highly anticipated rules likely to come down the pipeline in the remainder of 2015 . . . (Read more)

- Lord God, as Obama and his team begin to go into "overdrive," trying to push through many regulations before he leaves office, we ask that Congress be especially watchful over each one. We ask wisdom for the various "watchdog" committees that have oversight of the different agencies in the federal government . . . wisdom that can only come from You. We ask this in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, amen and amen.

- "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him." (James 1:5)

Not hard to see how antichrist can come to power

When I was a child, one of the first books of the Bible I read was Revelation. I always had a curiosity about Revelation, what it meant and how it would play out. I kept thinking that it would be nearly impossible for an antichrist to come to power because people would know what to look for, know what to expect if they read Revelation. I know now as an adult that the prophets of the Old Testament along with Revelation and other books of the Bible also speak clearly about the beast, or what has become known as the antichrist. There is clear warning. But when we look at today's events and how things are coming together, I am beginning to see how the beast can rise to power by looking at America's example.

The election of a "president" without proof of being a natural born citizen; the subsequent change in direction toward the enemies of God becoming the allies of America; the opening of our borders to anyone and and any persuasion resulting in domestic crime, domestic terrorism and a re-colonization of our country; the move to redefine marriage; the selective enforcement of law; the demonization of moral and righteous people--all things known widely before his reelection. This person rises from obscurity to becoming the most important man in the world in such a short period of time, and his actions are accepted as if they were normal. There is no better example than the current Iranian nuclear deal.

The "president" has pushed this nuclear deal with Iran hard. He has gotten members of his party, some of them Jewish, to agree with him. It is reported from sources close to the deal, that America may be required to defend Iran in the event that Israel attacks it. It is a given that Iran can deploy a nuclear bomb after the agreement expires in ten years. These facts should be enough to turn every American, every Jew, every Israeli, every peace-loving citizen of the world to the streets demanding a "no deal." Yet, apart from some opposition, the world seems mesmerized to support it. Americans should have more sense--every day there are legitimate, confirmed reports that Iran is vowing to destroy the US and Israel.

The Free Beacon reports that US naval forces are routinely approached by Iranian warships and aircraft in the Strait of Hormuz. Free Beacon's Adam Kredo observes: "These encounters are underscored by violent and threatening rhetoric from senior Iranian officials, who have maintained in recent weeks that despite the recently signed nuclear accord, Iran will not end its support for terrorist proxy groups." Yet the American Congress and "president" persist in pursuing the Iranian agreement. This is a type and shadow of how people can be deceived, which is the first warning of Christ to his disciples regarding the end times in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you."

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Our Grandmothers' Songs

Songs Our Grandmothers Sang:

HOW GREAT THOU ART

"O Lord, how great are Thy works!" (Psalm 92:5)

Lyrics

O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the *worlds thy hands have made,
I see the stars, I hear the *rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed:

Refrain

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee:
How great thou art! How great thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee:
How great thou art! How great thou art!

When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees,
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur,
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze:

Refrain

And when I think that God, his Son not sparing,
Sent him to die, I scarce can take it in,
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

Refrain

When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
Then *I shall bow in humble adoration,
And there proclaim, "My God, how great thou art!"

Signs and Wonders

Deadly sandstorm engulfs Middle East

A dense sandstorm engulfing parts of the Middle East has left at least eight people dead and thousands suffering from respiratory problems, as officials warned residents to stay indoors. Large parts of Lebanon, Syria, Israel and Cyprus were on Tuesday shrouded in a thick cloud of dust from the storm that began sweeping into the region on Monday. Refugees from Syria now living in basic conditions in Lebanon were badly affected.

In Syria itself, the storm meant government warplanes and helicopters carried out fewer strikes, but at least six people died across the country from respiratory failure, a monitor said. 'There were four (killed) in Deir Ezzor, including a child and an elderly woman, as well as another child in Hama province and a person in Daraa,' said Rami Abdel Rahman, head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Lebanon's health ministry said two women had died at hospitals in the eastern Bekaa Valley region because of the storm, without specifying their nationality. 'The number of cases of choking and shortness of breath caused by the sandstorm has risen to 750,' the ministry said.

Police distributed face masks on city streets as authorities warned people suffering from health problems, the elderly, and pregnant women to stay indoors. The storm was felt particularly in Lebanon's dozens of informal camps where hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees live with limited shelter.

A thick haze hung over Jerusalem and much of Israel and the Palestinian Territories, with officials warning the vulnerable to stay indoors. The thick cloud also enveloped parts of the eastern Mediterranean island of Cyprus, where residents were told to limit their time outdoors. The effects of the storm also reached Cairo, where the skyline was obscured by a thick haze. (AFP) Read more.

The Good News Corner

Syrian Priest, 270 Christian and Muslim Hostages Kidnapped by Islamic Militants Reportedly Alive

A Syrian priest, along with 270 Christian and Muslim hostages kidnapped by Islamic militants earlier this summer in an offensive on the city of Homs, are reportedly alive and hoping that they'll be released after negotiations.

Fides News Agency said that Father Jacques Murad, who belongs to the monastic community of Deir Mar Musa, is still alive, according to local sources, but is being held hostage with groups of Christians and Muslims taken by jihadists in August. The hostages are reported to be "stable and secure," and are waiting as local ecclesial communities are carrying out negotiations through mediators for their possible release.

"The sources contacted by Fides confirm that all the hostages are still in Quaryatayn, and specify that the news on the story of father Murad broadcast in recent days by Lebanese television network Nursat TV did not include any statement regarding the religious person kidnapped, but only reassuring considerations about his fate, expressed by another priest," the report added.
