"Praying for All in Authority"
Thursday, October 8, 2015

"Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed," says the LORD, who has compassion on you." (Isaiah 54:10)

1. Palestinian Man Stabs Soldier, Snatches His Weapon in Southern Israel - Haaretz

A Palestinian man stabbed an IDF soldier and snatched his weapon in the southern Israeli city of Kiryat Gat on Wednesday, before being shot dead by police forces. The soldier was lightly wounded. According to reports, the assailant fled into a building before being shot and killed. Palestinian sources named the assailant as Amjad Algandi, 24, from Yatta, south of Hebron. (Read more)

2. Turbulent day as Palestinian storm continues - YNET News

Tensions remained on a knife's edge Tuesday as violent clashes wounded at least 50 Palestinians, 3 IDF soldiers, 3 police officers, and a baby girl.

Three police officers were lightly wounded by rocks thrown Tuesday night by masked Palestinians during clashes that erupted in Israel's centrally-located city of Jaffa, just kilometers south of Tel Aviv.

The violence came as an Arab protest against Israeli policy on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem got out of control and two of the rioters were arrested. Police said the protest was held without the proper licenses. (Read more)

- Abba Father, we pray for the families of all the wounded and murdered. Send Your Holy Spirit to minister to them in their time of sadness. We ask that the families not be stricken with a spirit of revenge, but that they instead would seek You. That they would grow deeper in their walk with You and trust in Your Will for their enemies. Father, we pray for the endurance of the Jewish people. We pray that they would not lose hope amidst all the violence toward them, but that they would see the light of Yeshua and the hope that is in Him. We pray for strength and Shalom peace to fill their hearts and homes this day. We pray these things in the name that is above all names, that alone has the power to save; Yeshua HaMaschiah, Jesus Christ, our Lord, Savior, and King, amen.

3. Netanyahu cancels Germany trip amid terror wave - Times of Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu postponed a Thursday visit to Germany due to a surge in Palestinian terror attacks, an Israeli official said Wednesday.

"The trip has been postponed due to the security situation," the official said on condition of anonymity, amid a series of clashes and attacks involving Palestinians, Israeli security forces and Jewish settlers. (Read more)

- Abba, we thank You that Prime Minister Netanyahu's main focus is his country's security. We pray for all the IDF, all government officials, Mr. Netanyahu, security officials, and others we aren't mentioning specifically, and ask that You would protect them. We pray that You would place your protection over them and their families. We ask that You would bless them with peace, discernment, and wisdom. Father, that You would reveal attacks of the enemy before they happen. We also pray for Chancellor Merkel and ask that You would give her understanding of this situation. In the name of Yeshua, amen.

4. Rivlin: Splitting Jerusalem will bring Israel more chaos - Jerusalem Post

Israelis and Palestinians cannot reach any agreement without the basic ability to sit together as partners, President Reuven Rivlin told members of the Foreign Press Association in Israel on Wednesday.

Partnership must begin with dialogue and not just with words, he insisted, in remarks at a meeting held at Jerusalem's King David Hotel. "There must be mutual understanding and respect." (Read more)

5. Liberman: Arab Violence is an 'Organized Campaign' - Israel National News

Arab violence extends far beyond Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, Yisrael Beytenu chairman MK Avigdor Liberman said on Tuesday night, following a violent demonstration by Israeli Arabs in the city of Yafo (Jaffa) in which several police officers were wounded.

"The riots this evening in Yafo make it clear to all those who thought that the wave of recent violence does not concern all the citizens of Israel, but 'only' those who live in Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria, that the Palestinian incitement knows no limits and its consequences reach everywhere, including the center of the country, a few kilometers from the heart of Tel Aviv," Liberman said. 6. Israel raps BBC for 'unethical' terror attack headline - Times of Israel

The Government Press Office on Sunday warned the BBC it could face sanctions for running a news headline highlighting the death of the Palestinian terrorist shot by police Saturday after fatally stabbing two Israelis, rather than the attack itself.

A harshly-worded letter was sent to Richard Palmer, the head of the BBC bureau in Israel, by the head of the GPO after the British network initially published a headline that read "Palestinian shot dead after Jerusalem attack kills two."

The headline, which referred to the two Israeli victims in a passive voice and neglected to mention that the Palestinian casualty - Muhannad Halabi, 19 - was shot by police at the scene of the deadly attack, was widely condemned in Israel. (Read more)

- Heavenly Father, we pray for the media companies and journalists. We pray that they would accurately report news regarding Israel and that any falsehoods or misrepresentations would be crumbled and exposed. We pray for the people who hear or read any falsified information, and ask that You would influence what they are allowed to see and hear. In the name of Yeshua, amen.

7. Netanyahu: Cameras linked to command centers will be spread out on all West Bank roads - Jerusalem Post

Israel will place cameras both on the ground and in the air over the roads in Judea and Samaria that will be linked to command centers to provide immediate IDF response to violence on the roads, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday. "The focus of this visit was on active defense of the roads," Netanyahu said, adding that "a large portion of the attacks take place on the roads." He said that the enhanced surveillance, along with the ability for quick response, can "significantly" improve Israel's ability to both thwart attacks and apprehend the perpetrators "This is a very, very important component in bringing back security," he said. (Read more)

- Abba, we pray that the measures Prime Minister Netanyahu is taking to increase security will not be in vain. We pray for Your hand to be upon the equipment to keep it functioning properly and for this to quicken the response of Israel. In the name of Yeshua, amen.

8. Despite Rising Violence, Christians Lead Global Prayer Initiative Near Temple Mount - Christian Headlines

Hundreds gathered this week in the Christ Church in the Old City of Jerusalem to pray following attacks near the Temple Mount. Million of Christians around the world also prayed Sunday for the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem.

"We pray that as Christian brothers and sisters we no longer can be silent among the nations ... bind us together with our Jewish brothers and sisters, for together we are the family of the One True God," prayed Ken Howard of Christian Friends of Israel. (Read more)

- Father God, we agree with this prayer! Father, we pray for unity among believers and for unity with our Jewish brothers and sisters. We pray for the Peace of Jerusalem, the salvation of the Jewish people, and Your Will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. In the name of Yeshua, amen.

9. Thousands Gather at Tsarfat Square in Front of Netanyahu's Residence to Peacefully Protest Terrorist Stabbing Attacks - Hebrew Nation News

A local Jewish resident shares her heart on Monday night October 5th at Tsarfat Square. She explains why thousands of Jewish residents gathered in front of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's home to conclude Sukkot with Simchat Torah celebrations. Instead of doing their Simchat Torah celebrations in their local synagogues, the Jewish people were encouraged to gather at Tsarfat squre for unified gathering and celebration.

There was music, singing and dancing in the streets. But, the thousands of people were also there to protest peacefully and to send a message to the Prime Minister: the Jewish people want tighter security so they can live in the land in peace. This week there were three separate stabbing attacks during the week of Sukkot.

1. Russian missiles 'hit IS in Syria from Caspian Sea' - BBC

Russia says it has launched rocket strikes on Islamic State group targets in Syria from warships in the Caspian Sea - about 1,500km (930 miles) away. Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said four warships fired 26 sea-based cruise missiles on 11 targets, destroying them and causing no civilian casualties.

Meanwhile, Syrian ground troops have launched an offensive under Russian air cover, Syrian officials say. Russia denies claims that its week of strikes have mainly hit non-IS targets. (Read more)

2. Mideast conflicts will bring Europe to a 'total war,' French president Hollande says - Jerusalem Post

Europe must live up to the challenge of an upheaval that has forced hundreds of thousands of refugees to flee Syria, where everyone including Iran, Russia and the West must seek a political solution, French President Francois Hollande said on Wednesday. Speaking alongside German Chancellor Angela Merkel to the European Parliament in Strasbourg, eastern France, Hollande said the risk of failure was "total war" and that Europe, if slow to grasp the scale of the refugee exodus, had now made a start.

As for Syria, Hollande reiterated the Paris line that any solution for Syria had to be based on an alternative to President Bashar Assad.

"What's happening in Syria concerns Europe because what is going on there will determine the balances of power in the region for a long time," he said. (Read more)

- Father, if World War III is in our future, we pray for Your protection and strength. May Your enemies be scattered, and Your strength be revealed.

- "Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself and I will be known in the eyes of all nations. Then they shall know that am the Lord." (Ezekiel 38:23)

3. US denies ultimatum over West Bank settlements - Times of Israel

The US State Department denied reports it had issued Israel an ultimatum this week threatening not to veto a UN Security Council resolution declaring West Bank settlements illegal if Israel announced new settlement construction.

Deputy State Department Spokesman Mark Toner said that while his office was aware of such reports in the press, those reports were "false."

"Our position on settlements is well known and hasn't changed," he said. "We convey it regularly to the Israeli Government. I know we don't generally comment on private conversations, but I'd like to nip that story in the bud. We haven't issued any kind of ultimatum on this." Toner emphasized that far from issuing any such ultimatum regarding a UN resolution, "there's not even a resolution out there right now." (Read more)

- Lord, we know Your plan for Israel is good we stand firmly in prayer for them as the world tries to force them to comply with Palestinian demands.

- "I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you . . ." (Genesis 12:3)

4. Russian military officials visit Israel for Syria talks - Ynet News

Russian military officials were to hold talks with their Israeli counterparts in Tel Aviv on Tuesday after the countries' leaders agreed to establish a mechanism to avoid accidental clashes in Syria. Israel's military confirmed the two-day meeting on "regional coordination," which comes after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks last month related to Syria.

The two agreed on a mechanism to avoid "misunderstandings" and clashes in Syrian airspace between the two militaries' jets. Tuesday's talks were to include Russian Deputy Chief of Staff Nikolai Bogdanovsky and his Israeli counterpart Yair Golan. Israeli military officials reportedly fear that Russian air strikes could cut their room for manoeuver in Syria.

Several purported strikes on Iranian arms transfers to Hezbollah through Syria have occurred in recent months that were not officially acknowledged by Israeli authorities. Moscow informed Israel it was about to launch air strikes in Syria before its attacks last week, the first by Russian warplanes in the years-old conflict. Russian warplanes have been flying over Syrian territory since Wednesday, conducting air strikes on what Moscow says are targets belonging to Islamic State group jihadists in the country's northern and central provinces.(Read more)

- Lord, we know that Russia has an agenda all of their own, so we ask the Israel not fall for any lies or deceit. Grant them wisdom and strength to see through the agendas of their enemies.

- "Though they join forces, the wicked will not go unpunished; but the posterity of the righteous will be delivered." (Proverbs 11:21)

5. A New Global Police to Fight "Violent Extremism" in the U.S.? - Canada Free Press

The Obama Administration plans to create a global police force that counters "violent extremism" in the United States and elsewhere. The problem is that in Obama-speak "violent extremism" refers not only to jihadists wishing to harm Americans but also to conservatives and Tea Party activists. Just ask all the law-abiding right-of-center nonprofit groups targeted by Lois Lerner's IRS during the Obama presidency.

Ominously, President Obama and U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch unveiled the Strong Cities Network last week at the United Nations. "The Strong Cities Network will serve as a vital tool to strengthen capacity-building and improve collaboration," Lynch was quoted saying. "As we continue to counter a range of domestic and global terror threats, this innovative platform will enable cities to learn from one another, to develop best practices and to build social cohesion and community resilience here at home and around the world." (Read more)

- Lord, the Strong Cities Network appears to be a cover for a world wide United Nations agenda. We pray against this move and ask that it cities will begin to back away from the agenda- we pray that You will provide for the local law enforcement so that they will not be forced into untenable positions.

- "Those who render evil for good, they are my adversaries, because I follow what is good" (Psalm 38:20)

6. Three million people unite to derail TTIP - Euractive.com

A petition signed by three million people against the EU-US trade deal will be handed to the European Commission on Wednesday (7 October).

Campaigners called on EU leaders to scrap the deal altogether, becuase, they say, it undermines democratic rights and puts the interests of big business before citizens.

"The 3 million signatures collected for this petition shows that the people of Europe stand firmly against these corporate driven trade deals. The people of Europe have spoken, the politicians must no longer turn their backs on their constituents," said John Hilary, a member of the Stop TTIP citizens' committee and executive director of War on Want.

The petition was initially launched as European Citizens' Initiative, an EU petition procedure. Under the procedure, the collection of a million signatures from seven separate member countries acts as a demand on the Commission to act. But the EU executive rejected the proposal, a move which is now being challenged in the European Court of Human Rights. 7. BREAKING! Spencer Stone, French train hero, in reportedly in stable condition after stabbing - Fox News

DEVELOPING: Spencer Stone, one of the three Americans hailed a hero in the French train attack in August, is in stable condition after being stabbed near Sacramento early Thursday, the Air Force reports.

He was stabbed around 1 a.m. PT and was transported to a local hospital, according to an Air Force statement. It adds that local law enforcement are investigating.

The Air Force Times reported that Stone was stabbed four times in the chest. (Read more)

- Father God, we thank You that this brave young man has survived this stabbing attack, reported to have occurred in a bar in Sacramento. Lord God, we ask that all details related to this incident be made known, and that Spencer Stone be fully healed from all of his wounds. We ask this in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, amen and amen.

- "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." (Isaiah 53:5)

8. BREAKING! McCarthy withdraws from speaker race, vote postponed - Fox News

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, the front-runner to replace John Boehner, stunned his Republican colleagues on Thursday by withdrawing from the race -- a decision that will postpone the vote for speaker.

Fox News is told McCarthy simply said it was not his time. McCarthy faced opposition from some conservative members and groups, but was thought to have more than enough support to win the party's nomination in the vote initially set for Thursday. It's unclear what specifically made McCarthy change his mind and drop out.

The shocking decision came shortly after House Republicans met to select their nominee for speaker. McCarthy was running against Reps. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, and Daniel Webster, R-Fla., before he dropped out. He gave no indication of dropping out earlier in the day. "It's going to go great," McCarthy said Thursday morning.

Whoever ultimately is chosen by Republicans would need to muster an absolute majority, of roughly 218 members, to win in the full floor vote, which had been set for Oct. 29 originally. (Read more)

- Lord God, I thank You personally that the publication of this Brief today ended up being delayed, so that this news can now be covered in prayer. Lord God, (as seen here), it really is clear that Your Word is true, and that all of our steps are ordered by You -- whether we be "princes" or regular citizens.

We ask for Your clear choice to be revealed in this important election for Speaker of the House, and we ask for Your timing in the decision of when this vote will be taken. We ask all of this, and give You the praise, in Jesus' mighty name, amen and amen.

- "The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God." (2 Samuel 23:3)

9. 9. Huge Oil Discovery on the Golan Heights - Jewish Press

Syrian rebels, the Islamic State (ISIS) and the Assad regime, and today that means Russia, now have another reason to capture the Golan Heights - oil. Drilling that began more than a year ago has exposed a huge find of billions of barrels of oil, but it is too early to know if the black gold can be extracted at a price that would make the oil commercially viable.

Afek Oil and Gas chief geologist Dr. Yuval Bartov was quoted by Globes as saying: "We are talking about a strata which is 350 meters thick, and what is important is the thickness and the porosity. On average in the world strata are 20-30 meters thick, so this is ten times as large as that, so we are talking about significant quantities. The important thing is to know the oil is in the rock and that's what we now know."

The drilling is in the southern Golan Heights, far away from the northern border but several miles from the eastern border. Syria has claimed the entire Golan since it lost the strategic and water-rich area in the Six-Day War in 1967. If oil can be extracted, it will be a huge bonanza for Israel and an enormous reason for whoever rules in Syria, or for Hezbollah that is fighting with Assad's forces and is based in Lebanon, to launch a war on Israel. . . (Read more)

- Thank you, Lord for this major discovery! We pray for protection over it, and that Israel will have wisdom in using it for their people. We take authority over any plansof the enemy to take it from Israel, and declare that this discovery belongs to the people of the Living God!

-"and do not harm the oil and the wine" Rev 6:6c

10. South Carolina still on edge from floods; 2 die in truck - AP

Rivers rose and dams bulged Wednesday as South Carolina faced another anxious day of waiting for the floodwaters to recede, and search teams found the bodies of two people who died after they drove around a barricade and into standing water.

At least 19 people in South Carolina and North Carolina have died in the storm.

Along the coast, residents prepared for a second round of flooding as rivers swollen from days of devastating rains make their way toward the Atlantic. In the Columbia area, where some returned home to assess damage and clean up, the threat of more flooding still hadn't lifted. (Read more)

- Father, we ask for mercy and comfort for this region so beset by flooding. May Your light shine in the darkness across the East.

Prophecy at work--Putin in the Middle East

The US "president" has created a mess in the Middle East. He supported an overthrow of stable governments (although not necessarily good governments) through the Arab Spring revolts in partnership with the Muslim Brotherhood and al Qaeda. He targeted Syria, a vassal state of Iran, also for overthrow. In his efforts to rid Syria of dictator Bashar Assad, the US supported not only al Qaeda, al Nursa and a handful of other terrorists groups, but also the Islamic State. The IS is brutally advancing throughout the Middle East, torturing, beheading, crucifying, raping and pillaging anyone who does not agree with them. Then the "president" supports Iran offering it billions of dollars and a way to expand its nuclear program.

Now Russia's Vladimir Putin is stepping in as a force to be reckoned with. The power base is shifting in the Middle East and this has significant prophetic implications. Putin, in support of allies Iran and Syria, has determined to eliminate IS. This is a wild card for the US "president," who has given lip service to eradicating the world from the IS, but has in reality supported it as a balance against Iran. With Putin stepping in, the US "president's" plan of Muslim Brotherhood unification of a worldwide caliphate is now in jeopardy. Strange enough is the "president's" support of Iran at the same time. But overall, it seems that the "president" is taking great steps to see an overall unification of Islam in the Middle East.

This does not seem possible with Putin stepping in to eradicate IS and to bolster Iran's puppet, Syria. Indeed, the Syria-Iran supported Hezbollah and other terrorist groups will be bolstered by Putin's actions. This places Hezbollah on the mountain tops of the Golan Heights, within clear sight of Israel. And it gives Hezbollah the backing of Russian bases that are being anchored in Syria. Let us not be deceived, however. Islam's goal is to eliminate Israel from the face of the world map. Islam is very strategic and Russia long has been an ally. While it appears that Putin and the US "president" are at odds over their policies, the end result may well align with both prophecy and Islam's quest to eradicate Israel.

So where is the prophecy in all this? I do not believe it is found in Ezekiel 38. It may be the very start of how Ezekiel 38 will someday play out, but it is not this as yet. Jesus, however, in laying out exactly what would happen in the end times warned us in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you." There is a lot of deception in the current Middle East events. Jesus went on to say, "And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places." We are seeing the impact of wars and more is to come.

Islam's challenge Political and Spiritual

Thanks to the policies of the US "president," Islam may well be able to accomplish something it has been attempting for thousands of years--taking over the world. Islam's last attempt ended with the shutting down of the Ottoman Empire caliphate in 1924, but not before it ruled over the Middle East, Northern Africa and much of Eastern Europe during a 625 year period. But now, thanks to an overreaching resettlement program in Europe and the United States, millions of Muslims are being relocated from the Middle East to Western nations. Among them are Sharia hardliners, terrorists, and also those who have been persecuted by their own religion. This poses both a spiritual and political challenge.

According to the Center for Immigration Studies, "newly released Census Bureau data from the 2014 American Community Survey (ACS) shows that a record 63.2 million US residents five years of age and older speak a language other than English at home. The number is up 3.6 million since 2010. The largest percentage increases from 2010 to 2014 were for speakers of Arabic and Urdu (Pakistan's national language). As a share of the population, more than one in five US residents now speaks a foreign language at home." Since the US "president" has taken office, we have seen the fastest growth ever of Arab speaking people in the US, and many of them are very young and born in the US.

Missionary sources in Europe report that Muslims are coming in by the truckloads--a steady stream everyday. Some reports expect that they are arriving at a rate of approximately 3-to-3.5 million per year. This is an outright invasion of the Western world by Islam. It is accomplishing what the enemies of God's people have been trying to do since the unification of Ishmael and Esau in the days of Abraham. From the Muslim Brotherhood's perspective, it makes no difference whether they are Sunni or Shiite, that colonization should occur first and unification thereafter. So the question now becomes, what will happen to our nation governed by natural law as given by God?

The political question is will the West succumb and submit to Islam's Sharia? We should be prepared to fight that battle with every elected politician because if we lose our rights to free speech and religious expression, true persecution will follow. Exodus 12:49 says, "One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the foreigner who sojourns among you." That's the political side. Jesus told us in Matthew 28:19-20, "Go ye therefore and teach all nations...to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you." This is the spiritual side. He didn't say, teach just the folks you enjoy being with. It may be against all our emotions, but we, as a church, need to create relationships with these Muslims and show them the love of the one true God and teach them His ways. Could the Lord be bringing them to us as we won't go to them.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Court Rules that Congress Can View all PP Videos

Court Rules that Congress Can Receive Full Unedited Footage of Undercover Investigation into National Abortion Federation and Planned Parenthood

Potential Constitutional Clash between Federal Court and Congress Averted

(October 6, 2015 - SAN FRANCISCO) - This afternoon, in response to arguments by the Thomas More Society and Life Legal Defense Foundation, counsel for David Daleiden, U.S. District Judge William H. Orrick III has ruled that David Daleiden and The Center for Medical Progress may respond to Congress's subpoena seeking all unedited video footage of Daleiden's undercover investigation into trafficking in fetal body parts by Planned Parenthood and other National Abortion Federation affiliates.

"The National Abortion Federation has gone to extraordinary lengths to keep David Daleiden's footage of its annual meetings out of the hands of law enforcement and the Congress," said Peter Breen, Thomas More Society Special Counsel. "We're pleased that the District Court has today decided to allow Congress to seek the unedited footage of the wrongdoing uncovered by David's investigation. We will continue to urge the District Court to allow David to release more undercover videos featuring the footage from these annual meetings to the public, so that the American people can make their own assessment of the practices of Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation."
The National Abortion Federation had urged Judge Orrick to forbid Daleiden from providing the footage requested by Congress. However, Judge Orrick's order, issued this afternoon, stated unequivocally that "Congress has the power to investigate, and it is not up to the courts to go beyond the narrow confines of determining that the committee's inquiry is in its province."

Judge Orrick's order further stated that, "Importantly in our Constitutional system, there are three equal branches of government, and courts should refrain from creating needless friction with a coordinate branch of government."

Congressman Jason Chaffetz, Chairman of the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, authorized the subpoena for the unedited footage in the wake of claims by Planned Parenthood that the videos released by David Daleiden and The Center for Medical Progress were somehow doctored, a claim that has been vigorously denied by Daleiden and also has been proven false just this last week by independent and authoritative forensic analysis experts. With today's order from the District Court, the Congress will now be able to review the investigative materials and reassure the public that the videos about Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation are authentic and true.

- Father, we offer a chorus of PRAISE unto You, Holy One, for this decision rendered by Judge Orrick. The LIGHT will now shine in the darkness inside the halls of Congress over this tragic issue. We ask, Lord, for safekeeping for the Judge, his family, and the members of his staff, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen and amen.
- "For the Lord is our Judge,
The Lord is our Lawgiver,
The Lord is our King;
He will save us."

ISIS Sought Dirty Bomb

ISIS Sought Dirty Bomb

Today, the Associated Press has a shocking report that Russian arms smugglers have repeatedly tried to sell radioactive material, and in some cases even "bomb-grade uranium," to radical Islamists. Consider this excerpt:

"In wiretaps, videotaped arrests, photographs of bomb-grade material, documents and interviews, AP found that smugglers are explicitly targeting buyers who are enemies of the West. The developments represent the fulfillment of a long-feared scenario in which organized crime gangs are trying to link up with groups such as the Islamic State and al-Qaida -- both of which have made clear their ambition to use weapons of mass destruction. . . .

"In one case, a middleman said it was essential the smuggled bomb-grade uranium go to Arabs, said Malic, an investigator in all four sting operations. 'He said: 'I really want an Islamic buyer because they will bomb the Americans.'"

If nothing else convinces you, this issue alone should make every American think about the urgent need to secure our borders. (Gary Bauer)

Today is "Bring Your Bible to School Day"

Estimated 100,000 Students Prepare for "Bring Your Bible to School Day" Today

When we launched "Bring Your Bible to School Day" last year as a way to empower and encourage public school students from kindergarten to college to express their faith freely, we had no idea God was going to do so much with the event in such a little time.

An estimated 8,000 students celebrated their religious freedom and shared God's hope in the program's inaugural year. Tomorrow, we're expecting an estimated 100,000 to participate!

Students all across the nation have already signed up to take part in "Bring Your Bible to School Day." On our Facebook page, we're reading story after story of excited students getting ready to stand unashamed for their faith. They're creating flyers, proudly announcing their participation at their school, and praying God will provide them with opportunities for good conversations with their friends.
As I shared earlier, students have a legal right to bring their Bibles to school and read it during their free time. Some educators might not be aware of this right. In some cases, we've heard of administrators attempting to impose a "cultural censorship" of sorts that make students feel like their faith is unwelcome in public schools. Whatever the case, too many students feel a quiet pressure to hide their faith - an integral part of who they are - while they're in school. (Focus on the Family) Read more here.

SAVIOR, LIKE A SHEPHERD LEAD US

"He calls His own sheep by name and leads them out." (John 10:3)

Lyrics
Savior, like a shepherd lead us, much we need Thy tender care; In Thy pleasant pastures feed us, for our use Thy folds prepare. Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus! Thou hast bought us, Thine we are. Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus! Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.

We are Thine, Thou dost befriend us, be the guardian of our way; Keep Thy flock, from sin defend us, seek us when we go astray. Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus! Hear, O hear us when we pray. Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus! Hear, O hear us when we pray.

Thou hast promised to receive us, poor and sinful though we be; Thou hast mercy to relieve us, grace to cleanse and power to free. Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus! We will early turn to Thee. Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus! We will early turn to Thee.

Early let us seek Thy favor, early let us do Thy will; Blessèd Lord and only Savior, with Thy love our bosoms fill. Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus! Thou hast loved us, love us still. Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus! Thou hast loved us, love us still.

Signs and Wonders

"Urban Auroras" Dazzle Arctic Cities

Last night, Oct. 6th, sky watchers around the Arctic Circle witnessed an outburst of auroras so bright that they were visible alongside glaring city lights. "We enjoyed a wonderful evening of 'urban auroras'," reports Anne Birgitte Fyhn, who took this picture of Northern Lights surrounding the Arctic Cathedral in Tromsø, Norway:

"We could see the auroras everywhere," she says. "They waved above street lights, car lights, and all around our city. It seems that we will have no time for sleeping this week."

She might be right, because the Oct. 6th display heralds an even stronger display in the offing. During the late hours of Oct. 7th a co-rotating interaction region (CIR) is expected to hit Earth's magnetic field. CIRs are transition zones between slow- and fast-moving solar wind streams. Solar wind plasma piles up in these regions, producing density gradients and shock waves that do a good job of sparking auroras. NOAA forecasters estimate a 70% to 75% chance of G2-class geomagnetic storms when the CIR arrives. (SpaceWeather.com) Read more.

'War Room' Still Among Top 10 After Four Weeks

The final figures from the weekend box office are in, and the Christian movie "War Room" is still in the Top 10 after four weeks.

"'War Room' is a reminder to all who watch that there is power in prayer! I urge you to find a theater and see 'War Room,'" Dr. Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, said.

"'War Room' truly has the potential to change your life. It's that powerful and that important," Pastor Tony Evans, from the Urban Alternative, said.

"War Room" finished number nine, bringing in just under $3 million.

So far, the film has made more than $60 million on a budget of only $3 million. (CBN) Read more.

Editor's Note:

My husband and I were able to see this movie last weekend, and we cannot recommend it to all of you more highly. We ask that this movie will reach the hearts of many who are still "on the fence," and who need to make a true decision, in repentance, for Christ.

We bless all who worked to produce this movie, and we ask for their protection, in Jesus' name, amen.
