(Israel Hayom/Exclusive to JNS.org) Israel is pursuing legislation to outlaw Hizbut Tahrir, a radical, international, pan-Islamic organization affiliated with Islamic State, Channel 10 reported Monday.

The group has been outlawed in several European countries, including Turkey, Russia and Germany, over its radical ideology and support of terrorism.

5. Jerusalem may be facing 'major' heroin problem - Jerusalem Post

Israel's illicit NIS 6 billion drug market includes approximately 100 tons of marijuana annually entering the country, primarily through the Egyptian border, about three tons of cocaine via Lebanon and Jordan, and up to four tons of heroin, from Lebanon and Egypt.

According to the Anti-Drug Authority, addiction to narcotics in Israel transformed from a "marginal concern" in the 80s, to ensnaring some 25,000 full-blown addicts, largely due to Western influences and greater access.

Among all addicts in the country, approximately 8,300 are presently undergoing treatment at a rehabilitation facility, although the success rates are not very high, with only one-third being fully rehabilitated.(Read more)

1. Turkey's Erdogan issues message to US: Hand over exiled cleric Fethullah Gulen - CNN

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan appeared to give the United States an ultimatum, demanding the extradition of the cleric he believes is behind the failed July 15 coup attempt.

The state-run Anadolu news agency reported that Erdogan had said the US had to choose between its relationship with Turkey and Fethullah Gulen, a former Erdogan ally who has been in self-imposed exile in Pennsylvania for decades.

Turkey has requested his extradition, while Gulen denied involvement in the coup.(Read more)

__Father, we ask Your protection over our troops at Incirlik Airbase in Turkey as this angry fight between Turkey and the US continues. If this is truly an ultimatum from Turkey, our military at that airbase may be in grave danger. We pray against any foolish action on the part of Erdogan against us.

"He shall call upon Me and I will answer him; I will be with him I trouble. . ." (Psalm 91:15a)

2. Exclusive: Vietnam moves new rocket launchers into disputed South China Sea - Reuters

Vietnam has discreetly fortified several of its islands in the disputed South China Sea with new mobile rocket launchers capable of striking China's runways and military installations across the vital trade route, according to Western officials.

Diplomats and military officers told Reuters that intelligence shows Hanoi has shipped the launchers from the Vietnamese mainland into position on five bases in the Spratly islands in recent months, a move likely to raise tensions with Beijing.(Read more)

__Father, we ask Your hand of protection over this region as tensions continue to rise.

3. Christians Forced to Hide Bibles Amid Migrant Muslim Death Threats- Breitbart

Bundestag member Erika Steinbach and Iranian-born pastor Mahin Mousapour called for much stronger sanctions for Muslims who abuse Christians in Germany at a press conference on Monday.

Highlighting the fact Christians suffer violence, harassment, and death threats in migrant lodgings, Ms. Mousapour criticised Germany for granting Islam "too much respect". Declaring anti-Christian hate attacks an affront to German values, politician Erika Steinbach advocated the government deport migrants who insult or attack Christians.

At the press conference Ms. Mousapour, who converted to Christianity more than 25 years ago, reported that Christians face various forms of persecution in migrant housing.(Read more)

_ Lord, the "politically correct" migrant issue has devastated Europe to the point that it is nearly lost. We pray that Your people will rise up in Your anointing and power to push back against this flood of anti-Christian sentiment.

"When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him." (Isaiah 59:19c)

4. Canadian police thwart possible terrorist attack- ArutzSheva

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) announced on Wednesday they have detained an individual after information had been received of a potential terror attack in Canada.

It was later reported that the suspect was killed in the anti-terrorism operation in southwestern Ontario.

Heavily armed police, including snipers and RCMP officers in tactical gear, surrounded a home in Strathroy, in an investigation reports said is linked to what the RCMP described as "credible information of a potential terrorist threat."

Reports said the suspect, who wasn't identified by authorities, planned to use an IED in a public area in a major Canadian city to create mass casualties. (Read more)

___Lord, we praise You for thwarting this terror attack in Canada. We ask that You continue to give insight and intelligence information to all who stand ready to protect western nations against terrorists.

5. U.S. court rejects Muslim's demand to use Shariah- WND

A state court in Minnesota, which already is heavily influenced by a large population of Muslim immigrants and has one district represented in Congress by a Muslim, has decided that in America, it's American inheritance law that applies.

The recent ruling from the Court of Appeals affirmed a Hennepin County District Court decision that the widow, Nariman Sirag Elsayed Khalil, of a taxi driver who died in an accident should be the one to benefit from a $183,000 settlement over her husband's death.

It was the cab driver's brother who argued in court that Islamic law should apply, so that the widow of Nadir Ibrahim Ombabi would only get 25 percent of the wrongful death settlement, 16.7 percent should go to his mother's estate and the rest to Ombabi's siblings, "with the males to receive 'twice the share of the female.'"(Read more)

__Lord, we thank You for this victory in the court that puts down attempt to implement sharia in an inheritance case. May it also be an opportunity to help this widow find You in her life!

"Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne." (Psalm 89:14)

Newly released emails from Hillary Clinton's tenure as secretary of state raise questions about the nature of the department's relationship with the Clinton Foundation.

The emails, many of which are heavily redacted, raise questions about the Clinton Foundation's influence on the State Department and its relations during her tenure.(Read more)

_Lord, as these issues come to light we pray that the people will not just ignore the violations and obvious corruption. We ask for truth to prevail, and that blind eyes be opened in a move of Your Spirit.

". . . whose mind the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them" (2 Corinthians 4:4)

7. California Backs Off Plan to Limit Freedom of Religious Colleges- Christian Post

California State Senator Ricardo Lara announced that he will be dropping a provision from a bill that critics warned would have curbed the religious exemption rights of private schools.

Senator Lara recently introduced Senate Bill 1146, which among other things would have made it easier for LGBT students of religious colleges to sue the schools for upholding traditional Christian teachings on gender and sexuality.

In a statement published in the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday, Lara explained that while he supports protecting LGBT students of religious schools, he is aware that certain "unintended consequences" may come from his bill.(Read more)

__Father, we thank you that this California legislator figured out that his bill would have created a swamp of legal nightmares for Christian colleges. We once again repent for our nation's current stand on this issue and ask for redemption and repentance.

". . . For with the Lord there is mercy, and with Him is abundant redemption." (Psalm 130:7)

A Word About Race

I realize that this Daily Jot will rub a lot of people the wrong way. So let's just get this out front-it may make you feel uneasy. From my Christian belief, I do not see races. I believe God made the human race and there are differences among us culturally, ethically, and in skin color, but we are all part of God's creation. The concept of "race" has made chasms among people who ought to be civil, even loving brothers and sisters in the Lord. When America elected a man of color to the White House, many had hope that relations between whites and people of color would improve. Instead, relations appear to have become more polarized. But some are trying to address the problems. Dialogue is the first step.

For example, football players are taking the lead to start the discussion on this most uncomfortable issue. My contention is that football, and other sports for that matter, brings people together, galvanizes communities. In the locker room, there is no black, white, whatever-there are teammates who care for one another and have trust in each other. Baltimore Ravens tight end Benjamin Watson has said that race problems are not a skin issue, but rather a sin issue. He has written a book, "Under Our Skin: Getting Real about Race-and Getting Free from the Fears and Frustrations that Divide Us." Watson is a Christian and hopes the book will foster self-examination with an eye toward changing attitudes.

Another person who is speaking into the situation is oft-controversial Seattle Seahawk's cornerback Richard Sherman. In an interview with former player Dominique Foxworth for The Undefeated, Sherman explains: "We hear a lot about Black Lives Matter. But I think race was created. I think everybody is a human being first and then the color of their skin wouldn't matter if nobody told you it mattered. . . Any time you see people who are saying, 'Black Lives Matter,' and then saying it's time to kill police, then it is difficult to stand behind that logic. They are generalizing police just like they are asking police not to generalize us. It is very hypocritical."

Sherman continued: "I stand by what I said that All Lives Matter and that we are human beings. And speaking to police, I want African-Americans and everybody else treated decently. I want them treated like human beings. And I also want the police treated like human beings." You see, from these men, who happen to be Black, there is not an either-or in the discussion. It's both/and. There is blame on both sides of these issues. The answer is in the Lord. Isaiah 1:17-18 says, "Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together." We need to focus and learn to do well by one another, reason together and find our way as God would want, as Jesus said in John 15:12 to "love one another as I have loved you." Easy to say, harder to do. We need to try.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
