2. Japan and Israel upgrade relations as Arab oil influence wanes
- Jerusalem Post

Japanese executives say they are increasingly drawn to investments in Israel as the price of oil falls and, with it, the influence Arab oil suppliers have on Japan's decision-making. Over the past two years, Japan and Israel have strengthened business ties, signing a series of economic agreements on the back of a visit by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to Israel in 2015 and Benjamin Netanyahu's trip to Tokyo in 2014.

"Abe had a good impression; he liked Netanyahu's mentality," Yoshimitsu Kobayashi, chairman of Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings, told Reuters when he led a delegation from Keizai Doyukai, the Japanese business lobby, to Israel in May.

For years, trade between the two was minimal - Japan was reluctant to upset its oil suppliers, many of whom belong to the Arab League, which has long backed a boycott of Israel. (Read more)

3. Netanyahu vows to give EU 'new understanding' of Israel's role in war on terror - Times of Israel

Israel is slowly trying to convince Europe that the Jewish state is a key player in efforts to stem a rising tide of Islamic terrorism, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday morning as he made his way to the Continent for a two-day visit.

"Europe as a whole is undergoing changes. It faces very great challenges over the spread of radical Islamic terrorism," he said as he boarded his plane to the Netherlands. (Read more)

4. Fearing BDS backlash, Syracuse U official uninvites Israeli director
- Israel Hayom

An Israeli filmmaker was recently disinvited from a conference in New York's Syracuse University over pressure from the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement on campus. According to a report in The Atlantic, Israeli film director Shimon Dotan was due to participate in a religion and film conference at the university to discuss his film "The Settlers," which recounts the history of the settler movement in Judea and Samaria.

The highly acclaimed film was hailed by the New York Times as "one of the first close-up views of the motives and personalities in a group that rarely opens up to outsiders." (Read more)

5. Archaeologists restore ancient tiles from Second Temple in Jerusalem - Jerusalem Post

For the first time since its destruction at the hands of the Roman Empire 2,000 years ago, several floor tiles from Jerusalem's Second Temple's courtyard have been reconstructed, archeologists announced on Tuesday.

According to Dr. Gabriel Barkay and Zachi Dvira, co-founders and co-directors of the Temple Mount Sifting Project, the reconstruction is unprecedented. "This represents the first time that archeologists have been able to successfully restore an element from the Herodian Second Temple complex," said Dvira at an unveiling of the tiles at the project's headquarters in Emek Tzurim National Park, located on the western slopes of Mount Scopus. 6. KGB document claims Mahmoud Abbas was an agent in Damascus - Jerusalem Online

According to a document that was released this evening (Wednesday) by Israel's Channel 1, PA President Mahmoud Abbas was an undercover Soviet agent in Syria more than 30 years ago. The story was reported by Channel 1's foreign news desk editor Oren Nahari.

According to the report, the details were revealed in documents that KGB defector Vasili Mitrokhin brought with him to the West. Among the documents was a list from 1938 that included the names of Palestinian sources and agents in Damascus. (Read more)

7. SEPTEMBER 8, 70 AD. - Rome Conquers Jerusalem - The American Minute

Historian Josephus recorded that over a million Jews were killed in the siege. According to historian Eusebius, Romans hunted down and killed all descendants of the royal line of David.

The Jewish Temple was so completely destroyed that only the foundation stones were left, which are the bottom rows of the Wailing Wall. (Read more)

> > > Interesting footnote: on that same date in 1565 Rome established its first permanent colony in what is now America -- St. Augustine, Florida. St. Augustine remains as the oldest permanent city in the nation to this day.

8. Italian soccer fans give Nazi salute, spit and boo during Hatikvah
- Ynet News

During a soccer match between Israel and Italy, several Italy fans put on an anti-Semitic display that included booing during the Israeli national anthem, spitting on Israeli fans and performing the Nazi salute; the Israel Football Association has already sent video footage from the match to its Italian counterpart so that those responsible could be held to account; Italy has already come out condemning the incident. (Read more)

- Father God, we, too, condemn this heinous action and we do ask that those who perpetrated this act against the Israeli team be held accountable. Together and in agreement with Your Word, we lay axe to the root of the spirit of Nazism -- anywhere in the world -- and command it to wither, die and be heard no more in our time. In Your name, amen.

- "The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire." (Matthew 3:10)

The Daily Brief

Please note:
Every prayer below is presented to our Lord in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.

1a. Russian Jet Flies Within 10 Feet of US Spy Plane: Defense Official - Military.com/Fox News

A Russian jet zoomed within just 10 feet of a U.S. Navy spy plane over the Black Sea on Wednesday, the latest in a string of daring maneuvers involving Russian aircraft and the U.S. military, a defense official with knowledge of the incident told Fox News. The Russian Su-27 flew dangerously close to a U.S. Navy P-8 Poseidon reconnaissance aircraft used primarily for anti-submarine warfare while on routine patrol, a senior defense official said. (Read more)

1b. US says Russian jet flew 10ft from plane over Black Sea - BBC News

The Pentagon says a Russian fighter plane flew within about 10ft (3m) of one of its reconnaissance aircraft operating over the Black Sea. US officials described the intercept by the SU-27 jet on Wednesday as "dangerous and unprofessional".

Russia's defence ministry said the US plane had been approaching Russian territory and the SU-27 pilots had adhered to international rules. (Read more)

- Father, once again these actions by Russian pilots are a symptom of a weak US leader. We pray that You will protect our military forces with Your power.

- "My eyes are ever toward the Lord, for He shall pluck my feet out of the net."
(Psalm 25:15)

2. Official: 7 Iranian boats came after U.S. ship in the Persian Gulf
- Navy Times

A U.S. coastal patrol ship faced seven Iranian Republican Guard Corps Navy fast in-shore attack craft before swerving to avoid crashing into one on Sunday, according to a 5th Fleet spokesman.

The incident is the latest in a series of interactions the Navy has called "dangerous and unprofessional" in a year that has seen more run-ins between U.S. and Iranian ships than in recent memory. Iranian vessels harassed destroyers and PCs in four incidents in late August, resulting in warning shots in one case.

"The Iranians' unsafe maneuvers near a United States ship operating in accordance with international law while transiting in international waters created a dangerous, harassing situation that could have led to further escalation including additional defensive measures by Firebolt." (Read more)

- Father, we have no idea what Iran is thinking in these continual harassments, but it may stem from from the weak policies of our current leadership. We pray against anything that would spark a major conflict, but we also pray that our military would stand their ground.

- "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9)

3. Law Enforcement on High Alert in Advance of 9/11 - Alerts USA

The Department of Homeland Security and the FBI are warning law enforcement nationwide to remain vigilante in the run up to the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Citizens can expect increased security at national landmarks and at all transportation hubs.

ALSO: On Tuesday night, a new ISIS magazine, Rumiyah, urged followers worldwide to target non- believers, including commuters, people in parks and "the old man waiting in line." (Private source; subscription only. No link available)

- Lord God, as Your watchmen on the wall, we add our prayer support to the efforts of law enforcement agents across our nation to keep us safe this weekend, on the 15th anniversary of the terror attacks on 9/11/01. We also cancel and obliterate every "whispering Islamic voice" that would cause lone wolves to perpetrate sudden attacks upon our citizens, in Your name, amen.

- "Deliver us from evil . . ." (Matthew 6:13)

4. Britain to start building anti-migrant wall in Calais - Times of Israel

Britain hopes a four-meter high (13 foot-high) concrete wall will succeed where security guards and barbed wire have failed, and stop migrants reaching the UK from the northern French port of Calais. Construction for the barrier will begin this month and should be completed by the end of this year, officials said.

The wall, which will be funded by the British government under an agreement struck at a summit in March, will complement a security fence already put up around the port and entrance to the Channel Tunnel. "We are going to start building this big new wall very soon. We've done the fence, now we are doing a wall," Home Office Minister Robert Goodwill told a parliamentary committee on Tuesday.

Calais, known as "the jungle," a squalid camp of tents and makeshift shelters, is home to some 7,000 migrants but charities say the number might be as high as 10,000 after an influx this summer. (Read more)

- Lord, the truckers and farmers of this region have suffered tremendously from attacks by Muslim migrants. We ask for Your solution to this problem, and for a move of Your Spirit within this immigrant camp.

- "Repent and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38)

5. Trump, Clinton Veer from Veterans Issues During Vets Forum - Military.com

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton veered from veterans issues to discuss other national-security matters during the first forum in which they shared a stage before the election.

Trump and Clinton addressed the crowd of mostly veterans at different times during the first-ever "Commander-in-Chief" forum, which was organized by the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, the vets group known as IAVA, and held aboard the decommissioned aircraft carrier Intrepid, site of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City.

During the hour-long event hosted by NBC's Matt Lauer, the candidates indeed touched on veterans issues, notably waits for appointments at Veterans Affairs Department hospitals and the high number of veterans who die by suicide. But during most of the hour-long event, they focused on other national-security and military matters. (Read more)

- Father we pray that only Your will shall prevail over this election. We were founded on Your Name, and we pray that You will remember and fight for us at this time.

- "For the Lord is our Judge,
The Lord is our Lawgiver,
The Lord is our King;
He will save us."
(Isaiah 33:22)

6. Clinton campaign warns media to tread carefully - The Hill

Hillary Clinton's campaign is working the refs hard when it comes to reports about her health. While Clinton responded to a fit of coughing this week with humor, saying she was "allergic" to GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, her aides and surrogates played the role of bad cop. Campaign spokesman Nick Merrill took to task an NBC reporter who wrote about the coughing spell, posting on Twitter that the writer should "get a life."

The five-paragraph story, by Andrew Rafferty, was titled "Hillary Clinton fights back coughing attack" and reported that the "frog in Clinton's throat on Monday was one of the most aggressive she's had during her 2016 run."

Jon Favreau, a former speechwriter for President Obama, asked via Twitter if "anyone on NBC, or anywhere else," was willing to defend the piece. The pushback signaled that Clinton's campaign intends to sharply counterattack news organizations that take questions about her health seriously. (Read more)

- Lord, that they are asking the media to "tread carefully" means that something is very wrong. We ask that You protect the election, that nothing will happen to cause it to be delayed or stopped.

- "The Lord is on my side; I will not fear." (Psalm 118:6)

7. UNESCO Responds to Sanhedrin Demand for End to Muslim Occupation of Temple Mount - Breaking Israel News

In a powerful letter, exclusively obtained by Breaking Israel News, the nascent Sanhedrin recently blasted the ongoing efforts of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to give Muslims complete sovereignty of the Temple Mount, prompting a response from the UN body which claims it recognizes the Jewish connection to the Mount but, unsurprisingly, offers very little proof.

In June, UNESCO adopted a resolution that required the Temple Mount be referred to in all official documents as Al Aqsa, the silver-domed mosque on the site. One month later, UNESCO's World Heritage Committee met in Istanbul to vote on another resolution, based on a joint Palestinian-Jordanian initiative, calling for a return to the "historic status quo" which existed before the 1967 war.

This would effectively ban Jews and other non-Muslims from setting foot in the Temple Mount complex. If the intention was not clear enough, the initiative referred to Israel as the "occupying power".

In what seemed a divinely decreed coincidence, UNESCO was forced to postpone the vote due to the attempted coup in Turkey. A new vote is expected to take place in October. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You for this response by the Sanhedrin to UNESCO, confirming who actually has authority on the Temple Mount. In the name of Jesus, Yeshua, we command the forces of evil operating against Israel through the United Nations, to stand down, amen and amen.

- "Through God we shall do valiantly, And it is He who will tread down our adversaries." (Psalm 60:12)

8. Obama Nominates First Muslim-American Judge to Federal Court
- Elite Daily

As of Tuesday, history has been made - President Barack Obama has nominated the first Muslim person to be a federal judge. While it is unlikely that Abid Qureshi will actually become a member of the US District Court for the District of Columbia, his nomination is truly is unprecedented.

Senate Republicans are expected to veto Qureshi as a federal judge, as they have stopped confirming all of President Obama's judicial picks.

Despite what stands against his nomination, Qureshi could stand a chance moving forward during the "lame duck" Congress, or, should Hillary Clinton win in November, she could renominate Qureshi in 2017. (Read more)

See also this news reported in Breitbart (go here) and in POLITICO (go here.)

- Father, in actual fact, Obama has done this twice now - Abdul Kallon was also nominated to a Federal appeals court (11th Circuit Court of Appeals) last February and is awaiting confirmation. Lord it doesn't matter if these men are qualified or not, if they are Muslims, they must adhere to the jurisprudence of Islam - or Sharia law. We ask that these nominations fail and their hearts be transformed.

- "But God demonstrates His own Love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

9. Cornell 'Diversity Chief' candidate in hot water after suggesting all students matter - Fox News

Cornell is hiring a dean of students whose job it will be to promote diversity on campus and protect the delicate sensibilities of Cornell's next crop of Ivy League social justice warriors.

So far, though, the interview process isn't going particularly well for one top candidate, Vijay Pendakur, who held a "diversity townhall" with students to persuade them to support his candidacy. He hit all the right notes at first, stressing social justice as a "marathon and not a sprint," committing to elevating the dialogue on "campus inclusion" and making "trans-inclusion" a formative part of his tenure.

And then, he dared to say that he'd consider all students when making decisions as the dean of students. "If I say, 'The dean's area of focus is diversity and inclusion,' the unspoken thought in response often is, 'Oh, so he's here for only the marginalized students,'" he told the crowd. "So we need to undo that, because that is a deeply problematic framework. If we're going to make progress, it needs to be everyone's conversation."

Obviously, that was the wrong answer. And while it was merely one sentence in an otherwise perfectly SJW appeal, the school's "vice president for diversity of inclusion" was immediately scandalized. (Read more)

- Lord we cry out to You at this travesty of intimidation because this man said something that others did not like. Our entire education system is riddled with political correctness that has obscured Your heart for us all. We ask for a move of Your Spirit across every school in the nation.

- "The light of the righteous rejoices, but the lamp of the wicked will be put out." (Proverbs 13:9)

10. Atheists Protest Ten Commandments Painting in Office of KY County Clerk - Christian headlines

An atheist organization is protesting the display of a Ten Commandments painting in the office of a Kentucky county clerk. ChristianToday.com reports that the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) sent a letter to Trigg County Clerk Carmen Finley, alleging that the painting she had displayed of a revised version of the Ten Commandments violates the Establishment Clause.

In the letter, Patrick Elliott cited another court case which he claimed set a precedent for religious displays in public buildings. "In McCreary County v. ACLU, the Supreme Court ruled that a modern display of the Ten Commandments in two Kentucky courthouses violated the U.S. Constitution. The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a permanent injunction against such displays in 2010, finding that the counties acted with an impermissible religious purpose," wrote Elliott.

FFRF Co-President Annie Laurie Gaylor also questioned how the painting would make someone who is not a Christian feel. "How can nonbelievers feel welcome in the Trigg County clerk's office when they have such an obviously biblical message staring them in the face?" she asked. (Read more)

- Father, this constant complaining by this atheist organization has to cease. We pray that You will use Your Holy Spirit to tear up the plans of the enemy and begin to convert these people who are offended by everything that belongs to You. We bind the politically correct spirit of Judas in our nation and we loose truth, in Your name, amen.

- "Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries." (Palm 27:12a)

Clinton's voice problems and deadly poison

James 3:7-8 says, "For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and has been tamed of mankind: But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison." James says the tongue is a fire and no man can tame it. I find it quite ironic that Hillary Clinton is having trouble talking. Questions about her health have been plaguing her campaign with talking head doctors paid to tell everyone that she is healthy enough to execute the office of the president. Notwithstanding, she needs help getting up and down stairs, in and out of cars, standing at a podium, and doctors say her veracious laugh is a sign of dementia. Moreover, she can't talk.

CNN, which should be more aptly named Clinton News Network for its constant positive coverage of Hillary, even used the example of Clinton's cough in a story to explain why people cough: "Apparently, it takes a village to explain a cough. Hillary Clinton's coughing spells along the campaign trail have drawn attention from supporters and opponents alike. Though Democrats insist Clinton merely has seasonal allergies, Republicans argue her cough suggests a more problematic health issue. Meanwhile, everyone is left to sigh and wonder: When is a cough "just" a cough -- and when do you need a doctor?" Of course, CNN didn't go into Clinton's health problems-nothing to see here, this is not the droid you are looking for.

Let us recall another Clinton who couldn't talk during a presidential campaign. On October 15, 1992, the LA Times reported: "Democratic presidential nominee Bill Clinton struggled with continuing voice problems Wednesday as his campaign released medical reports indicating he is otherwise in good health. The letters issued by four of Clinton's doctors, however, were less extensive than materials provided by other presidential campaigns in recent years, preventing outsiders from making a complete evaluation of Clinton's physical condition... Clinton's chief medical concern is his voice--hoarse, raspy and weak from the combination of months on the campaign trail, a throat infection and chronic allergies."

History repeating itself? Maybe. Same issue, another Clinton. This phenomena may have a greater import. For many, the things that the Clintons speak about and their beliefs associated with them-homosexuality, bigotry, hate, changing religious beliefs to support abortion-are far beyond the traditional values of Americans, and are offensive to many. While they accuse anyone who opposes them as being a racist, bigot, or hate monger, they appear to be projecting those accusations from the content of their own hearts and personal character. I often ponder these things and wonder if the Clintons' voice problems are a warning from the Lord about the deadly poison of their tongues.

Christian conservatives and the election

According to data and analysis released by pollster George Barna of the American Culture and Faith Institute, support for Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump is gaining momentum among a demographic identified as SAGE Cons. SAGE Cons are Spiritually Active, Governance Engaged Conservatives. According to Barna, they are "Christians who are actively engaged in a range of religious activities; consistently follow political news and participate in political activity; are followers of Jesus Christ and committed to growing in their relationship with and faith in Christ; and donate to one or more Christian ministries that are involved in social and political action."

Demographically, SAGE Cons tend to be middle-aged or older; white; upscale; married; and more heavily located in the southern and Midwestern states. They are 56% male and 46% female. They are conservative both ideologically and theologically. Barna says SAGE Cons are well-educated, with more than half (53%) having graduated from a four-year college and about one-third (31%) who attended graduate school. Compared with all US adults, just three out of ten (28%) graduated from a four-year college and about half of those (15%) attended graduate school. So when liberals say those supporting Trump are less educated, low income, and ignorant, they are lying.

According to Barna, "In a January survey among SAGE Cons, Mr. Trump was the favorite of just 11% of these voters. His favorability ratings were quite low at the time, with only 15% claiming to have a very favorable impression of him. During the eight months since that survey, things have changed dramatically for the New York real estate mogul. Once it became clear that he was the GOP favorite for the party's nomination, 70% of SAGE Cons said they would vote for him in a match-up against Hillary Clinton. That level of support in a head-to-head contest remained unchanged until after the Republican convention in late July. At that point his support jumped to 83%. It has remained in the 80% to 84% range ever since."

A few takeaways from this: The more we share the information we have on Hillary Clinton, the more impact we can make. Let us remember, however, that there is no political solution to our country's problems. It is a spiritual resolution that we need. Notwithstanding, it has to start somewhere and our charge is as Christ said in Mark 16:15, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." If we continue to make the case based in love and the good reason of the gospel and allow the Holy Spirit to convict people, we are doing our part to raise the Lord's standard for our nation. We can use political and other events to encourage and evangelize. Even with all the information out there, Barna reports that support among Christian conservatives for Hillary Clinton has doubled to 4%. Keep fighting the good fight.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Pope Francis in Jerusalem

Mekudeshet Festival:

'One World Religion' Metaphysical Event Gathers Muslims, Jews and Christians to Pray

Unprecedented and potentially historic. That's how organizers are billing the 2016 Mekudeshet Festival just around the corner this fall.

It might more accurately be dubbed a predecessor of the one world religion.

Christians, Jews and Muslims are flocking to the Holy City for a "spiritual gathering" dubbed Amen-A House of Prayer For All Believers. The self-stated goal is to create "a single home for the world's three major religions to harness the city's ancient powers to inspire artists, musicians and cultural figures from around the world to redefine their art and traditions and connect amid troubling times."
"We will study, argue-yes, this is also allowed-and pray, together and alone," says Mekudeshet artistic director Itay Mautner. "We will see if it is possible, despite all the corporeal difficulties and earthly obstacles, to create a new reality."

You mean to create a one world religion?

Expect to see more of these kinds of gatherings in the months ahead. Although we should seek opportunities to love people of all faiths, events like Amen typically breed compromise in the name of unity.

As I've said before, dialogue is one thing. Compromising the tenets of Christianity is altogether different. Using art and culture as a shill, Amen appears to be nothing more than an attempt to redefine religion.

This reminds me of Pope Francis' recent move to gather Christians, Muslims, Jews and Hindus together in prayer.

Disturbing video footage shows the pope receiving a demonic statue from a Buddhist and bending down to pray according to Muslim tradition.

"Many think differently, feel differently, seeking God or meeting God in different ways," he says. "In this crowd, in this range of religions, there is only one certainty we have for all: We are all children of God."

Here's the problem: You can seek God in many ways, but there's only one way to the Father. There is only one way to meet God, and His name is Jesus Christ. To even hint at anything else causes confusion at best and deceives many at worst. Events like Amen are a tool in the enemy's hand to dilute the one true and living God's gospel of salvation. Islamic Extremists force a Mass of about 200 Christians to shutdown in Indonesia

Jakarta (AsiaNews) - Islamic extremists have forced the parish priest of St. Peter Purwosari, near Surakarta (Central Java), to suspend the Mass and to flee for his safety. Yesterday evening about 200 Christians had gathered to celebrate Mass in commemoration of the deceased. At one point, two Muslims, hidden in the crowd, interrupted the celebration threatening those present.

Celebrating Mass 1000 days after the death of a loved one is a tradition of Java Catholics, during which they commemorate their loved ones with a religious event that non-Catholics are also invited to attend. Usually the Mass is celebrated in the house of the family, but this time, given the great number of guests, the head of the village was asked for permission to use a public facility. The village chief, not a Catholic, had given approval and also sat among the faithful.

After the first reading of the Bible the two hecklers began to insult the priest and present. The police were able to remove them, but they came back with another group of people and continued to disturb the celebration.

Classic Hymns:

BE STILL, MY SOUL

"Be still, and know that I am God." (Psalm 46:10)

Lyrics

Be still, my soul: the Lord is on thy side. Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain. Leave to thy God to order and provide; In every change, He faithful will remain. Be still, my soul: thy best, thy heavenly Friend Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

Be still, my soul: thy God doth undertake To guide the future, as He has the past. Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake; All now mysterious shall be bright at last. Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still know His voice Who ruled them while He dwelt below.

Be still, my soul: when dearest friends depart, And all is darkened in the vale of tears, Then shalt thou better know His love, His heart, Who comes to soothe thy sorrow and thy fears. Be still, my soul: thy Jesus can repay From His own fullness all He takes away.

Be still, my soul: the hour is hastening on When we shall be forever with the Lord. When disappointment, grief and fear are gone, Sorrow forgot, love's purest joys restored. Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past All safe and blessèd we shall meet at last.
Be still, my soul: begin the song of praise On earth, believing, to Thy Lord on high; Acknowledge Him in all thy words and ways, So shall He view thee with a well pleased eye. Be still, my soul: the Sun of life divine Through passing clouds shall but more brightly shine.

Signs and Wonders

Island Appearing in Sea of Galilee Sign of Coming Messiah

"He turned the sea into dry land; they went through the river on foot;
there let us rejoice in Him!"
(Psalms 66:6)

An island that has recently appeared in the middle of the Sea of Galilee (Kinneret) is a cause of ecologic alarm, but, more importantly, it is also a sign mentioned explicitly in the Talmud as presaging the coming of the Messiah from the House of David.

The sudden appearance of the island is not entirely unusual or unexpected. It frequently appears in particularly dry seasons when the level of the Sea of Galilee drops significantly, and to be sure, this year is exceptionally arid.

Since summer's beginning, the water level in the Kinneret has gone down by 40 inches, a worrying 14.76 inches below the lowest red line, the Jewish Press reported.

The drying up of the Kinneret has clear Messianic implications. The Talmud (Sanhedrin 97a) discusses the signs that will appear just prior to the coming of "the Son of David" (the Messiah from the House of King David).

Rabbi Yehuda, a Talmudic sage, states that one of the signs presaging the Messiah will be that the Sea of Galilee and Gablan, the upper Jordan River in the Golan, will become desolate and destroyed ("khorban" in Hebrew).

This Talmudic prophecy is consistent with the verse in Isaiah, which uses the same word, khorban, to describe rivers drying up in the days of the Messiah.

"And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be drained dry." (Isaiah 19:5)

"And it shall come to pass in that day that living waters shall go out from Yerushalayim: half of them toward the eastern sea and half of them toward the western sea; in summer and in winter shall it be." (Zechariah 14:8)

The big picture created by these different prophecies demonstrate how drastically the Messianic process will alter the land. Jerusalem, a dry mountaintop city, will become a source of flowing water while the Galilee and Jordan, perennial sources of Israel's water, will become desolate and dry. In yet another turnaround, the Dead Sea will fill up with life in the days of the Messiah. (Breaking Israel News) Read more here.

"There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea." (Luke 21:25)

The Good News Corner

As a mom, I can really appreciate those "proud mama moments," when we realize somewhere along the line our kids 'got' what we were trying to teach them, and they do something really special.

A little boy named Royce did just that, and made his mama (and thousands of others) very happy by his love for his country and how he showed it one day, when he was late for kindergarten.

Heather L. Nelson posted the photo above on Facebook, along with the following message, which has since gone viral...

*PROUD MOMMY ALERT* I had dropped Royce off in the line... by the time I drove up he was doing this... I couldn't really tell what he was doing and I was saying "Royce... go, go" as kids walked around him. Well he didn't budge and I thought what is this child doing? The officer said "mom he's doing good, he stopped for the Pledge of Allegiance (and then she puts her hand over her heart to show me) and now he's praying". Since they do not have prayer in schools he says a little prayer silently and that's exactly what he was doing. I was so proud that he stopped when the Pledge of Allegiance came and stood his ground and did not move as the other kids were going in and then took time out and prayed and did not even care or think twice about it. This is such a beautiful picture...

Thanks for posting, Heather, it brings us hope. Especially in light of certain football players who display the opposite.
