Focus on Israel

1. 'Netanyahu is cooking up a Palestinian state' - Israel National News

Tuesday evening warned that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is drawing up a diplomatic move that will result in the establishment of a Palestinian state.

"In recent weeks, there have been too many indications that the Prime Minister is quietly cooking up a process that will lead to the establishment of Palestine," Smotrich wrote on Facebook.

"All this talk about a 'deal' and a regional peace conference, the freezing of construction outside the blocs (those who do not build outside the blocs essentially say that the State of Israel is not going to remain there), and the reports about a 'deal' that Trump proposed to Abbas for negotiations in return for a construction freeze; reports in Haaretz on contacts between Netanyahu and Herzog to establish a unity government based on the renewal of the 'political process'; Netanyahu's desire to build an 'Iran bypass route' with moderate Arab states in which the price Israel will have to pay in order to build this axis will be on the settlement front," he continued, listing what he perceived as indications of Netanyahu's move. 2. Ma'ale Adumim annexation vote delayed to avoid clash with Trump envoy - Times of Israel

A vote on a contentious bill annexing a large West Bank settlement was delayed at the last minute Tuesday, as the Jewish Home party agreed to push off the move to avoid friction with the Trump administration.

The vote on annexing the Ma'ale Adumim settlement east of Jerusalem will now take place Sunday, possibly avoiding clashing with a visit by US official Jason Greenblatt, dispatched to the region this week to help formulate Washington's policy on settlements and possibly look to jump-start Israeli-Palestinian peace talks. 3. Police shutter Palestinian office said to track land sales to Jews - Times of Israel

Police on Monday shut down an office in East Jerusalem allegedly used by the Palestinian Authority to monitor land sales to Jews by Palestinians.

In a statement, police said that the office in the Beit Hanina neighborhood compiled the names of East Jerusalem residents suspected of selling their properties to Jews. The office operated on behalf of the Palestinian security services in Ramallah, according to police.

The East Jerusalem facility, which operated under the guise of a geographical consulting office called the Arab Studies Society, compiled a database of Palestinian landowners in East Jerusalem and tracked changes on the ground, police said. (Read more)

4. Gazan doctor whose daughters were killed by IDF sues Israel - Israel Hayom

Palestinian-Canadian physician Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish, whose three daughters and a niece were killed by IDF fire during the Israel-Hamas conflict eight years ago, is preparing to file a civil suit against Israel in which he will seek 3 million shekels ($819,000) in damages and a formal apology from the state.

The girls were killed when Abuelaish's home was shelled by Israeli tanks on Jan. 16, 2009, two days before Israel announced a unilateral cease-fire during 2008-2009's Operation Cast Lead in the Gaza Strip.

An earlier lawsuit filed with the Beersheba District Court in 2010 was unsuccessful, as the state refused to accept responsibility for the girls' tragic deaths. (Read more)

5. Prime Minister Netanyahu testifies in libel suit - YNET News

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu provided his testimony in the libel suit against journalist Yigal Sarna at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

Netanyahu's wife and former Shin Bet security head Yoram Cohen also testified.

Cohen was called to testify despite the PM and his wife's objection, after Judge Azaria Alcalay ruled that although Cohen's testimony was not relevant regarding Netanyahu's conduct, he was head of the Shin Bet during the time in question, and he could testify as long as he kept to the matter of Sarna's post. 6. IRGC-controlled Iraqi militia forms 'Golan Liberation Brigade' - Long War Journal

The Iranian-controlled Iraqi militia Harakat al Nujaba this week announced the formation of its "Golan Liberation Brigade." While it is not uncommon for entities to name themselves after areas they aim to "liberate," the militia's spokesman has said that the unit could assist the Syrian regime in taking the Golan Heights, a region in the Levant that has been controlled by Israel since the 1967 Six-Day War.

If true, the unit would likely participate in a future offensive to capture territory from Syrian opposition in the part of the Golan Heights still controlled by Syria, before moving on to the much taller order of dislodging the Israelis across the border. . . (Read more)

7. Netanyahu to Trump envoy: Peace progress with all neighbors possible under new president - Times of Israel
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held five hours of talks with a senior adviser to US President Donald Trump in Jerusalem on Monday, in which they discussed opportunities for advancing peace between Israel and its neighbors, and tried to formulate a coordinated approach for the two leaderships on the issue of settlements. At a press conference with Netanyahu last month, Trump had urged Israel to "hold back on settlements a little bit."

At the meeting with Jason Greenblatt, Trump's special envoy for the peace process, the two "reaffirmed the joint commitment of both Israel and the United States to advance a genuine and lasting peace between Israel and the Palestinians that strengthens the security of Israel and enhances stability in the region," according to a statement by the Prime Minister's Office.

The two men discussed Israeli settlements "in the hope of working out an approach that is consistent with the goal of advancing peace and security," the statement read.

Greenblatt told Netanyahu that "enabling the growth of the Palestinian economy and improving the quality of life for Palestinians" were important to Trump. The prime minister replied that he was "fully committed to broadening prosperity for Palestinians," seeing the issue "as a means of bolstering the prospects for peace." (Read more)

The Daily Brief

Please note:
Every prayer below is presented to our Lord in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.

1. Over 200,000 trained in one day to protest against President Trump - IFA

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has launched a campaign of resistance to the policies of President Donald Trump, starting with a nationwide training for protesters this past Saturday. The event at a sports arena on the University of Miami campus was livestreamed to all 50 states and reached an estimated 200,000 people. Speakers talked about protesters' legal rights and encouraged demonstrations in support of the First Amendment, abortion, civil rights, same-sex marriage, and transgender policies. "We'll do the work in the courts. You do the work in the streets," ACLU Executive Director Anthony Romero said to attendees. The organization has created a website to help coordinate protests around the nation. It also is encouraging local officials to pass municipal laws that contradict Trump's policies on topics like immigration. (Contributor: World News - The Associated Press contributed to this report.) Read more.

- Pray that Pres. Trump will know and do what is right and that he would have God's law in his heart. Pray for protection for him and his family.

- "Hear me, you who know what is right, you people who have my law in your hearts: Do not fear the reproach of men or be terrified by their insults." (Is. 51:7)

2. Environmental activists say they vandalized Donald Trump's Rancho Palos Verdes golf club- ABC

The Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes was defaced overnight by activists presumably attempting to send the president a message about climate change.

Photos and video show a group clad in dark clothing making their way onto the green of the golf course with rakes under the cover of night. In the video, five people quickly get to work carving large letters into the grass, spelling out "NO MORE TIGERS, NO MORE WOODS."

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department confirms their dispatch received a call from Trump National around 8:45 a.m. Sunday in relation to the vandalism, but the call was cancelled before deputies arrived on the scene. There is no investigation underway at this time, according to the LASD. Authorities are aware of the video, but has not been on the premises to verify what was seen on the tape.

A statement issued by activists claiming responsibility for the incident cites the "humanitarian crisis" of global warming and animal welfare as the group's motive. (Read more)

- Lord, we can't fathom the penchant for people to damage the property of others. We pray that You will visit these vandals, and find a way to stop the damaging of property.

- "The proud have hidden a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside . . ." (Psalm 140:5)

3. White House says Trump paid $38 million in taxes on $150 million in income in 2005, calls tax form disclosure 'illegal' - LA Times As MSNBC's Rachel Maddow prepared to air President Trump's tax returns from 2005, the White House pushed back in advance, saying that publishing the returns was illegal and a stunt to get ratings. "You know you are desperate for ratings when you are willing to violate the law to push a story about two pages of tax returns from over a decade ago," a White House official said in a statement. Trump paid $38 million in tax on an income of more than $150 million in 2005, the White House official acknowledged, "even after taking into account large scale depreciation for construction." - Father, we pray those responsible for releasing this information would be held accountable.

- "A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy person keeps a secret." (Proverbs 11:13)

4. Report: Trump Commands State Department to Slash UN Funding in Half - Breitbart President Donald Trump has instructed the State Department to slash its $10 billion budget for funding United Nations programs by as much as 50 percent, Foreign Policy is reporting.

The article said the move is "signaling an unprecedented retreat by [the] administration from international operations that keep the peace, provide vaccines for children, monitor rogue nuclear weapons programs, and promote peace talks from Syria to Yemen." (Read more)

- Father, this cut in funding sends a message that the United States does not see our priorities aligning with the United Nations. We pray the diplomats at United Nations would receive this message, be more accountable in how monies are used and be more responsive to the priorities of the United States.

- "But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, 'We don't want this man to be our king.' He was made king, however, and returned home. Then he sent for the servants to whom he had given the money, in order to find out what they had gained with it." (Luke 19:14-15)

5. Obama Pressured Pope Benedict to Resign, Suggests Archbishop - Christian Post

An Italian archbishop close to Pope Benedict XVI has claimed that the former pope decided to resign as a result of "tremendous pressures" from the Obama administration. He also pointed to other forces within the Vatican for his friend's decision to give up the papacy. "It is no coincidence that in America, even on the basis of what has been published by Wikileaks, some Catholic groups have asked President Trump to open a commission of inquiry to investigate whether the administration of Barack Obama exerted pressure on Benedict," he said.

Negri was referring to a letter by a group of American Catholics to President Donald Trump last January stating that "we have reason to believe that a Vatican 'regime change' was engineered by the Obama administration." It was written one year after Wikileaks exposed alleged efforts by the Democratic Party to sway Catholics to vote for Hilary Clinton. (Read more)

- Father, we pray Archbishop Luigi Negri's request for an inquiry into the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI would be granted. We pray You would bring the whole truth to light.

- "I will save you; you will not fall by the sword but will escape with your life, because you trust in me, declares the Lord." (Jeremiah 39:18)

6. Canada Pledges $650 Million for Abortion, Family Planning - Christian Headlines

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau pledged $650 million on March 8 for international abortion, sex education, and contraceptives.

The move, announced on International Women's Day, follows on the heels of the country's pledge of $20 million to support international abortion as part of the European "She Decides" fundraiser. Mostly Nordic nations raised $180 million in pledges last week to make up for the loss of U.S. funding for international abortion-providing organizations after President Donald Trump reinstated the Mexico City Policy.

Wednesday's pledge doubles Canada's current funding for international abortion and contraceptives, according to Canadian news outlet National Post. "Like men, women should be able to choose; to choose when they want to start a family, how big their family should be and who they want to start that family with," Trudeau said.

Pro-life leaders in Canada have decried the new funding as a misallocation of the nation's resources. "We are horrified by our government's decision to spend more than half a billion dollars on spreading abortion across the world," said Johanne Brownrigg, a spokeswoman for Campaign Life Coalition. "Our nation, under Trudeau, has now become one of the world's top exporters of abortion and sterilization. I guess Trudeau's admiration for China's dictatorship and horrific family planning programs are now shaping Canada's foreign policy." (Read more)

- Lord, we are appalled that Canada, our neighbor would pledge more money for abortions. The blood of the unborn is already rampant in the US, and now they will add to it. We place this in Your capable hands and ask that You find a way to stop it. In Jesus' name, amen.

- "I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." (Psalm 27:13)

7. Defense Secretary Mattis is Cutting the Syrian Gordian Knot - Arutz Sheva

In 333 B.C.E., while wintering in the lands of Phrygian, Alexander the Great was confronted by the Gordian Knot, a supposedly unsolvable knot puzzle. Various legends abound. But, the most dramatic story is that Alexander simply took out his sword and cut the Gordian Knot, thereby "solving" the otherwise unsolvable puzzle. Today, the US Secretary of Defense under the command of President Trump is on his way to cutting the Gordian Knot of Syria. The vague outlines of SecDef Mattis' strategy are apparent. Critically, it is clear SecDef Mattis is not only on his way to solving the Syrian conundrum, but is setting the structural foundation for a Pan-Sunni/Israeli/Kurdish regional mutual defense against Iran. (Read more)

- Father, we pray for the success of Secretary of Defense Mattis. Give him great wisdom as he defines and defeats our enemies.

- "You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out. The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven." (Deuteronomy 28:6-7)

8. Tillerson to press China on North Korea in tough first Asia trip - Reuters

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson faces a tough first trip to Asia this week when the former oil executive will seek to reassure nervous allies facing North Korea's growing nuclear and missile threat and press China to do more on perhaps the most serious security challenge confronting President Donald Trump.

Tillerson will visit Japan and South Korea before heading to Beijing, where he is expected to firm up a U.S. visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping next month to meet Trump as the leaders of the word's two largest economies. (Read more)

- Father, we pray You would bless Secretary of State Tillerson with wisdom as he negotiates with Japan, South Korea and China.

- ". . . a faithful envoy brings healing." (Proverbs 13:17b)

9. US buildup near Korean Peninsula aimed at 'incapacitating' Kim: Report - Fox News

A growing U.S. presence around the Korean Peninsula, which includes drone stations, military drills and even elite American special forces, is reportedly part of a plan aimed at "incapacitating" the rogue regime in Pyongyang should conflict break out.

On Sunday, the U.S. declared it will permanently station unmanned missile capable drones in South Korea. The development came amid reports that elite U.S. forces - possibly including SEAL Team 6, will take part in joint military drills with South Korea. (Read more)

- Father, we pray You would intervene, bringing freedom and salvation to the North Korean people.

- "How the oppressor has come to an end! How his fury has ended! The Lord has broken the rod of the wicked, the scepter of the rulers." (Isaiah 14:4-5)

10. California flooding has exposed gold veins hidden for 200 years - Fox News

This winter's flooding in Northern California has done more than bring relief after years of drought; it's created the prospect of the best gold prospecting in 20 years. Gold hunters in the area tell the Chico Enterprise-Record the floods have "rearranged the rivers" and "move things around." That means gold veins that have been hidden for 200 years are suddenly exposed. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You for exposing hidden wealth to prosper our people and attest to Your love.

- "I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons you by name." (Isaiah 45:3)

Paul Ryan may have hoodwinked the wrong guy

There is a lot being written about how conservative support for the socialist healthcare replacement is falling apart. And well it should. The Congressional Budget Office has issued an analysis that 24 million people would be uninsured because they would drop out of healthcare. That, however, is not the reason House Speaker Paul Ryan's bill should be abandoned. Forced government healthcare is expensive, it doesn't provide good care, and it's socialism in a free market country. If it did pass, Americans should do what they are doing with the current fiasco-do not participate-and the result would be the same. It would die a slow death. Ryan may have guaranteed that anyway by hoodwinking the wrong guy.

Breitbart News Network has published a fascinating exclusive story with Ryan saying in October that he will never defend Donald Trump, "not now or in the future." Ryan goes on a diatribe on a conference call with House Republican members about how he disinvited Trump from his district and would not be campaigning with him during the last 28 days of the campaign. This is significant because Ryan appeared to shift his allegiances after the election to become a Trump supporter. The first major legislative item up is repealing socialist healthcare and Ryan, according to Breitbart, misled President Trump into believing that the healthcare bill repealing the current system and that it would pass both Houses.

Now Ryan is hustling conservative votes for a bill that essentially lies to the American people about repealing the ex "president's" socialist healthcare failure. He is using scare tactics saying that if this bill is not passed, the healthcare system will collapse. Well, isn't that what most of us want? We want free market healthcare for a free market nation. We don't want the government cyphering off valuable funds for big government waste that could be reducing healthcare costs in the free market. It seems that President Trump feels the same way, but he is now recognizing that Ryan tried to hoodwink him on both the bill's content and its ability to pass.

Breitbart reported, "The President gave Ryan a chance," one source close to the President said. "If he doesn't get his act together soon, the President will have no choice but to step in and fix this on his own. He's the best negotiator on the planet, and if this were his bill not Ryan's it would not be this much of a mess." Trump is seeing how the "swamp" works. And Ryan is one of the clogs in the swamp's drain who tried to pull a fast one on the President. The Ryan healthcare bill needs to die a quick death and the President needs to get rid of socialist healthcare as promised. Proverbs 12:22 says, "Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight." Ryan's a liar and Trump's a dealer. Let's see how it plays out.

Soros, forces of communism organize in US

The ex "president," billionaire George Soros, the American Civil Liberties Union, the Soros-funded Moveon.org, and the ex "president's" organizations Organizing for America (his 2012 campaign organization) and Organizing For Action (his 2008 campaign organization) have all teamed up to oppose President Donald Trump. Soros is providing the money, the ex "president" the inspiration and contacts, and the others legal, organizational structure and boots on the ground. This is according to several news reports that have pieced the ex "president's" mosaic of Islamic Marxist resistance together through various sources following the inauguration. An extreme left mainstream news media follows in the wake.

One of the partners in this axis is the Indivisible Project, which has produced a video and guide to resist the Trump agenda by encouraging protests, mass call dates, encouraging revolution, and targeting Congressmen. The website says, "we want to demystify the heck out of Congress and build a vibrant community of angelic troublemakers." There have been many documented reports of Soros-funded protesters in the streets. Moreover, the ACLU lawyers and other Soros-funded groups are part and parcel to the legal filings against Trump immigration efforts and the public row over Russia and Attorney General Jeff Sessions. You see, they have a lot of sway, especially with a sympathetic media.

They are all working together to ostensibly stop Trump. But the real end game here is to establish an irreversible Marxist foothold in America. The ex "president's" narcissism provides motive in preserving his so-called legacy, but he has been a revolutionary communist as far back as his associations with Saul Alinsky, the Democratic Socialists of America, well-known communists Frank Marshall Davis, Sam Webb, and John Drew, as well as weatherman underground terrorist Bill Ayers. These are perfect bedfellows for Soros, an 86 year old duel Hungarian American citizen non-observant Jewish anti-capitalist worth $25 billion, who seeks to see Trump removed from office. He is also a supporter of anti-Israel groups.

These forces are marshaling together like a bad storm for America. They are the underbelly of a shadow government led by the ex "president" to undermine the ability of the duly elected to govern. Over the next few years, we will see these groups fight the crazy fight, the fight of darkness against our land, seeking to foment civil war, race war, Islamic war, gender war, class war-whatever will divide our nation and provide opportunity to establish their brand of economics and government over America. Every news article deserves your discernment. Every move of these people should draw your careful watch. We need to pray and stand for we are living in perilous times. Christ said in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you."

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Volunteers race to save 17 whales stranded
after 650 Beached

Volunteers and conservationists in New Zealand who endured frigid temperatures to help hundreds of beached pilot whales return to the water continue to have their work cut out for them.

A charity that helps protect marine mammals said Sunday that about 17 of the creatures were discovered stranded again near a roadside of South Island's Golden Bay - after volunteers had spent Friday and Saturday trying to save 650 of them. Many of them were already dead, although about 240 whales refloated themselves.

"Our medics are attending to the 17 live whales," Project Jonah said on Facebook.

. . . Volunteers worked until late into the evening to help that pod return to the sea, with the humans having to jump out of the water when the high tide emerged, bringing the increased risk of stingrays.

"I was here first thing this morning and there was a small group of us," Kyle Mulinder, a volunteer with Project Jonah, told The Associated Press. "And essentially we went out and saw one of the biggest strandings I've ever seen." (NBC News) Read more here.

Israeli Baseball Team's Purim Miracle at World Baseball Classic [VIDEO]

In a real-life Purim story, Israel's national baseball team read the Book of Esther from a scroll before beating Cuba 4-1 on Sunday, the holiday of Purim. In yet another startling victory, the fledgling Israeli team stands at 4 wins and no losses in their first international endeavor at the World Baseball Classic (WBC) in Tokyo.

At the World Baseball Classic in Tokyo, Team Israel made time for a megillah reading on Purim.

The Israeli team was ranked the lowest, 41st, when they entered the international competition, but came out swinging, beating third-ranked South Korea 2-1 in extra innings in the opening game. Next, they beat fourth-ranked Taiwan 15-7, and then went on to beat ninth-ranked Netherlands 4-2. Israel finished Pool A in first place with a 3-0 record.

The success of the team is especially surprising since baseball is practically unknown in Israel. There is only one field in the entire country dedicated to the sport, and 1,000 active players. Despite the team's success, the series is not being televised in Israel. So unlikely is their victory, ESPN referred to them as "Jamaican bobsled team of the WBC".
