3. Protesting US airstrikes, Syrians chant 'Death to Israel' - Times of Israel

BEIRUT, Lebanon - Dozens of Syrian students on Saturday gathered outside the offices of the United Nations in Damascus to protest a US missile attack on an air base.

The protesters held banners and chanted "Death to America" and "Death to Israel."

One of the banners they carried read: "The Iraqi scenario will not be repeated in Syria." They were referring to the 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq after Washington accused Saddam Hussein of hiding weapons of mass destruction - a belief that later turned out to be incorrect. (Read more)

4. Israel treating thousands of Syrians injured in war - Independent

Seven wounded Syrians - two children, four women and a man - waited in pain for darkness to fall to cross into enemy territory. Under the faint moonlight, Israeli military medical corps quickly whisked the patients across the hostile frontier into armoured ambulances headed to hospitals for intensive care.

It was a scene that has recurred since 2013, when the Israeli military began treating Syrian civilians wounded in fighting just a few miles away. Israel says it has quietly treated 3,000 patients - a number that it expects to quickly grow as fighting heats up in neighbouring Syria in the wake of a chemical attack and, in response, an unprecedented U.S. missile strike.

While the numbers are a tiny fraction of the hundreds of thousands of dead and wounded in the six-year Syrian war, both doctors and patients say the programme has changed perceptions and helped ease tensions across the hostile border. (Read more)

5. Russia warns Israel over Syria: Baseless allegations unacceptable - Israel Hayom

Russian President Vladimir Putin cautioned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a phone call Thursday against comments he made following Tuesday's chemical attack on the town of Khan Sheikhoun in Syria's northern Idlib province.

Speaking earlier this week, Netanyahu said he was "shocked and outraged," by the attack, which killed dozens of people. "There's no, none, no excuse whatsoever for deliberate attacks on civilians and on children, especially with cruel and outlawed chemical weapons," he said.

Netanyahu then called on the international community "to fulfill its obligation from 2013 to fully and finally remove these horrible weapons from Syria." (Read more)

6. Gideon Sa'ar says his ultimate goal is to become prime minister - Times of Israel

Former Likud minister Gideon Sa'ar said on Friday that his return to politics is the first step in a journey whose ultimate goal is to become prime minister.

Sa'ar announced his return to politics on Monday, two and a half years after he left the political scene in a move that surprised his colleagues. "I returned in order to reach the leadership of the country in the future," Sa'ar told Channel 10 in an interview aired Friday evening. (Read more)

7. Following Palm Sunday attacks, Israeli Counter-Terrorism Bureau warns citizens to leave Sinai immediately - Jerusalem Online

Several hours after two terror attacks in Egypt killed more than 40 people, the Israeli Counter-Terrorism Bureau heightened its travel warning that was released two weeks ago in which it urged Israelis visiting the Sinai to leave immediately.

"The deadly terror attack that occurred today again reflects ISIS's terror capabilities," the statement read. (Read more)

8. Eighty Foreign Ambassadors and Diplomats Take Part in Passover Seder - Ynet News More than 80 foreign ambassadors, senior diplomats and international journalists took part in a Passover seder Sunday night sponsored by The Israel Project and the World Jewish Congress.

The actual meal was hosted by former Israeli ambassador to Britain, Daniel Taub, and included guests from a variety of sectors in Israeli society, including the heads of social organizations and even actress Ania Bukstein.

For many participants, it was the first time they had ever sat at a Passover table. (Read more)

- Give thanks to God for using a gathering of ambassadors, journalists and diplomats from all over the world to bring joy and understanding of the redemption and rebirth of a nation and at the same time reveal the rich culture of Israel. Pray that their enriching and memorable experience will go beyond a one-time event at a dinner table.

- "And if a stranger dwells among you, and would keep the Lord's Passover, he must do so according to the rite of the Passover and according to its ceremony; you shall have one ordinance, both for the stranger and the native of the land." (Numbers 9:14)

1. Trump Congratulates 'Great Military Men, Women' For Syria Strike - Newsmax

President Donald Trump Saturday tweeted his congratulations to the men and women of the U.S. military for launching a lethal Tomahawk missile strike against Syria's Shayrat air base, and thanked them for their service.

Trump tweeted: "Congratulations to our great military men and women for representing the United States, and the world, so well in the Syria attack." (Read more)

- Abba Father, the brave men and women who followed orders in Syria deserve the honor bestowed on them by President Trump. Let there be no retaliation on them or their families as they serve to protect our nation. Give our military personnel Your protective covering. We give You the honor and glory for You are the Great Commander and Chief.

- ". . . and (he) gave them encouragement, saying, "Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed before the king of Assyria, nor before all the multitude that is with him. With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles." (2 Chronicles 32:6a-7a)

2. In Israeli eyes, Trump's Tomahawks correct the course of history - Times of Israel

From an Israeli perspective, US President Donald Trump corrected the course of history in ordering airstrikes against the Syrian regime late Thursday.

The mere fact that the global superpower took action in the face of Bashar Assad's use of chemical weapons against civilians - regardless of what military goals the operation accomplished - sends a powerful message that will reverberate beyond Syria, leaders and officials in Jerusalem said.

"In both word and action, President Trump sent a strong and clear message today that the use and spread of chemical weapons will not be tolerated," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement backing the airstrikes on the regime-held Shayrat Airfield, north of Damascus. "Israel fully supports President Trump's decision and hopes that this message of resolve in the face of the Assad regime's horrific actions will resonate not only in Damascus, but in Tehran, Pyongyang and elsewhere."

Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman called the missile strike "an important, necessary and moral message by the free world, led by the United States," that shows it "will not tolerate the war crimes of the horrific regime of Bashar Assad." (Read more)

3. U.S. Strike in Syria Raises Tensions With Iran - Wall Street Journal

The U.S. airstrikes on Syria stoked new tensions with Iran and generated calls in Tehran for increased military support for President Bashar al-Assad's regime. Iranian officials said on Friday the U.S. attack violated international law and accused President Donald Trump of siding with Islamic State and al Qaeda in Syria.

"Not even two decades after 9/11, [the] U.S. military is fighting on same side as al-Qaeda & ISIS in Yemen & Syria," Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif tweeted on Friday. "Time to stop hype and coverups." (Read more)

4. Expert: Watch to see if Kim Jong-Un goes into hiding after Syria strike - Fox News

The U.S. bombardment of a Syrian airbase just outside of Homs Friday was likely seen by North Korea as a clear warning that President Trump will use his military if United States interests are at risk.

The immediate focus after the strikes was on Russia's Vladimir Putin's reaction. Russia was not happy with the U.S., it spoke in defense of Syria and moved warships. But now the attention is on the next move by another world leader: Kim Jong-Un.

Gordon Chang, a Daily Beast columnist and author of "Nuclear Showdown: North Korea Takes On The World," said in an emailed statement to Fox News Friday that the U.S. strike on the Syrian airfield "tells North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un that he must now heed American military power, something that he probably dismissed before."

"Kim's father, Kim Jong Il, disappeared from public view for about six weeks in 2003 at the time of the Iraq war. Kim Jong-Un loves the public spotlight, and it will be telling if he similarly goes into hiding," the author said. The airstrikes are "a warning to China's People's Liberation Army, which had grown dismissive of the U.S. Navy and Air Force. Xi Jinping, the Chinese leader visiting Mar-a-Lago, almost certainly interpreted the strike as a sign of disrespect to him," Chang said. (Read more)

5. Chinese state media cheer Xi-Trump meeting, say confrontation not inevitable - Yahoo.com

Chinese state media on Saturday cheered the meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping as one that showed the world that confrontation between the two powers was not inevitable. The official China Daily newspaper said it was encouraging to see the two-day summit that ended on Friday "going as well as it could", after earlier "confusing signals" from Washington about how it was approaching the U.S.-China relationship.

Trump had campaigned with strident anti-China rhetoric and had angered Beijing before taking office by talking to the president of Taiwan, the self-ruled island Beijing claims as its own. But the two sides avoided any diplomatic gaffes at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida that would have tarnished the meeting in the eyes of the protocol-conscious Chinese.

China Daily said both parties appeared "equally enthusiastic about the constructive relationship they have promised to cultivate. This may sound surreal to those preoccupied with an 'inescapable' conflict scenario between what they see as rising and incumbent powers," the newspaper wrote in an editorial. "But that Beijing and Washington have so far managed to do well in preventing conflicts shows confrontation is not inevitable." (Read more)

6. China's Population Policy Still Enforced by 'Coercive Abortions and Sterilizations' - CNSNews.com

The Communist government of the People's Republic of China continues to impose a "coercive birth-limitation policy" that is enforced by "measures such as mandatory pregnancy examinations and coercive abortions and sterilizations," according to the Country Report on Human Rights in China released by President Donald Trump's State Department. China changed its coercive family planning policy last year by lifting the limit on children from one per couple to two per couple. To make sure women do not have more children than the Communist government believes they should, the government engages in both forced birth control and forced abortion.

"The government considers intrauterine devices (IUDs) and sterilization to be the most reliable form of birth control and compelled women to accept the insertion of IUDs by officials," said the State Department report.

"As in prior years," said the State Department, "population control policy continued to rely on social pressure, education, propaganda, and economic penalties as well as on measures such as mandatory pregnancy examinations and coercive abortions and sterilizations." (Read more)

- Father, we thank You that Secretary Tillerson has instructed his staff at the Department of State to issue this statement. We stand in agreement that these policies of forced abortions and sterilizations in the nation of China are an abomination to You, and we ask for relief for the women of China from this act of oppression, in Your Name, amen.

7. Supreme Court: 5 cases Gorsuch will hear in his first month on the bench - Fox News

It was a grueling process from President Trump's nomination of U.S. Circuit Judge Neil Gorsuch in January to the Supreme Court seat left vacant at Justice Antonin Scalia's death to the Senate's confirmation of him on Friday.

But now comes the really hard work. With less than a month left in the court's current sitting, Gorsuch will have to jump into hearings on a number of controversial issues that will not only gauge the 49-year-old Colorado native's conservative credentials but also lay bare how he compares to his predecessor, Scalia. Here is a look at five cases that Gorsuch will hear in his first month, his responses to which will shed light on what kind of Supreme Court justice he will be. (Read more)

- Father, thank You that the empty chair on the Supreme Court has been filled. This court will now be complete as Justice Neil Gorsuch takes his place as the ninth justice. Bless Justice Gorsuch with the mind of Christ in making his decisions. Our prayer is that he will grow stronger in his walk with You. In Your precious and Holy name we pray, amen.

- "I will restore your judges as at the first, And your counselors as at the beginning. Afterward you shall be called the city of righteousness, the faithful city." (Isaiah 1:26)

8. Nunes Steps Down From Russia-Trump-Leaks Investigation, Citing Ethics Complaint - CNSNews.com

Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) announced on Thursday that he is temporarily stepping aside as head of Russia probe pending outcome of an ethics investigation. Nunes said he will stay on as chairman of the intelligence committee, but anything to do with the Russia/Trump/leaks investigation will be handled by Rep. Mike Conaway (Texas), with assistance from Reps. Trey Gowdy (S.C.) and Tom Rooney (Fla.).

Nunes said his decision to remove himself as head of the Russia-Trump probe "is in the best interests of the House Intelligence Committee and the Congress." (Read more)

- Father, we honor this decision by Rep. Nunes, so that this probe can go forward unhindered. Thank You, Lord, amen.

- "Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up." (James 4:10)

9. Ben Carson Finds $500 Billion (Billion!) In Errors During Audit Of Obama HUD - Daily Wire

Ben Carson was the first neurosurgeon to successfully separate conjoined twins, so, he's kind of a super hero. But apparently, he's also not a bad accountant.

President Trump picked Carson to head the Department of Housing and Urban Development, whose budget grew by leaps and bounds under Barack Obama. In one of his first acts as HUD Secretary, Carson ordered an audit of the agency. What he found was staggering: $520 billion in bookkeeping errors.

"The total amounts of errors corrected in HUD's notes and consolidated financial statements were $516.4 billion and $3.4 billion, respectively," the auditors wrote. But there were plenty of other problems, too. . . . (Read more)

- Father in heaven, we of America are most grateful to You for revealing the disastrous sins committed by the Obama administration in this agency. Bring our country out of the shackles of the past and renew a right alignment that will effectuate a cleansing from the old ways and soundness for the future. In the Name of Jesus we pray, amen.

- "Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert." (Isaiah 43:19)

10. Nebraska Defeats LGBT Bill - Liberty Counsel

LINCOLN, NE (April 6, 2017) - Today Nebraska state senators ended debate on LB173, a bill that would have added "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" to the state's employment nondiscrimination statues. This bill would also have allowed municipalities to add "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" to their public accommodation and housing nondiscrimination statutes.

Nebraska will join at least 14 other states and 70 cities that have rejected sexual orientation and gender identity proposals in the last year.

Liberty Counsel's Director of Public Policy, Jonathan Alexandre said, "Laws like LB173 are consistently used to criminalize anyone who speaks against it. This has been the case for countless business owners across the country who have been victims of the LGBT agenda. The legislature's decision not to move forward with this bill is a good move and is consistent with its duty to preserve the privacy rights and dignity interests of all Nebraskans. It is wrong to force some people into intimate situations with members of the opposite sex while forcing religious institutions to deny their moral convictions on human sexuality." (Read more)

- Father God, in days past the LGBT agenda has been used successfully against Your people. Thank You for Christians standing unashamed on Your word. Let all Christians say, "No more", and stand to restore our nation back to "One nation under God." Praise You, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, amen.

- "To You, O Lord, I lift up my soul. O my God I trust in You; Let me not be ashamed; Let not my enemies triumph over me. Indeed, Let no one who waits on You be ashamed; Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause." (Psalm 25:1-3)

Toward one another

The vitriol being expressed in our nation against one another is tasteless and vile. Against the backdrop of Senate approval of a new Supreme Court Justice, we have heard terrible things said about a fellow American, the same theme about anybody who disagrees with the vocal left. It is very difficult to discuss these matters of disagreement with business associates, friends and even family members because they usually end up in heated debates and things are said that shouldn't be said. We, as Christians, need to keep in mind the tenets of our faith when standing up for our principles-especially when we are doing so with family and fellow believers. Civility seems to be a lost art these days.

Often, I exhort you through The Daily Jot to pray and act, to speak up for what is right, and to hold accountability by speaking boldly as you ought to speak. But this can be a balancing act in these days. Speaking boldly, doesn't mean being offensive or trying to invoke anger. It doesn't mean reducing the argument to personal attacks. It takes wisdom, compassion, empathy, and the ability to express right in a dignified and effective manner. As the Apostle Paul writes in Ephesians 5:15-17, "See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is."
In short, we need to remember who we are when we are discussing issues of right vs wrong. We need to be armed with the facts and stick to them. Keep bringing the discussion back to the facts. Most people I have run into who want to argue a point about the current state of our nation know very little about the facts. Often what they do know is based on a simple fact, but twisted into a lie. Trying to unravel that lie with them is like untangling a pile of coat-hangers. It takes patience and focus on your point. The purpose of The Daily Jot is to equip and encourage you to evangelize. Evangelizing can take many forms. In our case, it takes the form of using a current event to present a Biblical truth.
Deception is always key. People are deceived and, like a virus, they spread deception. Ephesians 5:6-9, "Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things comes the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not therefore partakers with them. For you were sometimes darkness, but now you are light in the Lord: walk as children of light For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth." Christ has given us life that we may have it abundantly. We don't need to get dragged down into the depths of deceit and anger because we already have the high ground in Christ. We just need to share it appropriately toward one another.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Egypt: Palm Sunday Massacre

Palm Sunday attacks: 43 dead, more than 100 injured in church bombings carried out by ISIS in Egypt

At least 43 people were killed and more than 100 injured in two separate Palm Sunday attacks at Coptic Christian churches in Egypt, each carried out by the ISIS terror group.

The first blast happened at St. George Church in the Nile Delta town of Tanta, where at least 27 people were killed and 78 others wounded, officials said.

Television footage showed the inside of the church, where a large number of people gathered around what appeared to be lifeless, bloody bodies covered with papers.

A second explosion - which Egypt's Interior Ministry says was caused by a suicide bomber who tried to storm St. Mark's Cathedral in the coastal city of Alexandria -- left at least 16 dead, and 41 injured. The attack came just after Pope Tawadros II -- leader of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria -- finished services, but aides told local media that he was unharmed.

At least three police officers were killed in the St. Mark's attack, the ministry told The Associated Press.

ISIS claimed responsibility for the attacks via its Aamaq media agency, following the group's recent video vowing to step up attacks against Christians, who the group describes as "infidels" empowering the West against Muslims. (Fox News) Read more.
- Almighty God, we pray that ISIS will hear the voice of Jesus and will see visions of Jesus every day until they ask Jesus to save their souls and redeem them from a devil's hell world without end. If they obey the voice of the Lord and their souls are saved, they will spend eternity in heaven with Him. But those who refuse to believe, this is a true and direct message to them from heaven that they will spend eternity in hell with Satan and all the evil people who rejected salvation. Father God, save the souls of ISIS members through the Blood of Jesus. We pray if ISIS continues to kill Christians, Lord God of heaven that You will start a mighty fire of the Holy Spirit in their camps and save all of them.

- "Yet if you warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul."
(Ezekiel 3:19)

A Prayer Request from Egypt

A Prayer Request from Egypt
Cairo, Egypt April 10th , 2017

Friends and family,

Please find below a message from a friend to help bring perspective of what is happening in Egypt and help us to pray.

What I am experiencing in this trip allover Egypt is a great move of the holy spirit and it seems that Egypt is about to have spiritual revolution this time.

The church in Egypt needs the prayer and support of the family of Christ around the world.

Standing in the land of Egypt, trusting the Lord of another miracle of parting todays red sea!

Victor

Dear friends,

Dec. 11 , 2016, a bomb exploded in a church in Cairo, 24 women and children were killed, over 50 were wounded.

Feb. 2017, ISIS declared El Arish, a city in the North of Sinai, Egypt as Islamic city, ordering all 11,000 Christians to leave the city or to be killed.

Within 10 days, 9 Christians were killed, one was burned alive, they cut the throat of another, others were shot in the head in broad day light. After that, out of fear for their lives all Christians left the city.

Today, 9th of April, churches in Egypt were packed celebrating Palm Sunday.

In Tanta, about 60 miles North of Cairo, during the church service a man walked in and placed a heavy bag under a seat near the altar and walked out. Soon after a bomb exploded. 29 were killed including the priest and the choir, 75 were wounded.

Hours later in Alexandria, a suicide bomber explodes himself outside a church, killing 16 & wounding 33.
What is going on?

The battle in Mosul, Iraq, against ISIS is putting great pressure on the ISIS fighters, thousands of them were killed, many started to flee returning back to where they came from. Over the last 2 years large numbers of young people from Egypt joined ISIS in Iraq and Syria. It is clear that many came back with an ideology which considers anyone who is not like them an infidel that should be killed. Christians are on top of the list! The other reason for these attacks, which are not new in Egypt, but going on since decades, is the teaching of Al Azhar, the Islamic university and thousands of their schools, which host more than a million students. There they educate students with a hate message towards Christians, the infidels, whom they should not greet, eat with or acknowledge their feasts and celebrations.
When are we going to see an end to the killing and persecution of the Copts, the Egyptian Christians?

Definitely not in the near future. As long as ISIS is spreading their ideology and the Islamic fanatic education is continuing in the country, persecution and killing of Egyptian Christians will not stop.

May God have mercy on our country, and may the prayers of the church beyond our borders be a source of strength to the Egyptian church, which stood strong against persecution for 14 centuries.

Last Thursday: Tornadoes in D.C.

Multiple tornadoes hit the D.C. area Thursday. We have video evidence.

On Thursday, multiple squall-line tornadoes spun up in the D.C. area, leaving behind sheared roofs and scores of downed trees.

[Clean up in aftermath of severe storm and two tornadoes, cherry blossom trees damaged]

The National Weather Service has confirmed at least two tornadoes touched down, one in Southeast Washington and one in Herndon, Va.

We believe at least one more occurred between the Tidal Basin and the H Street Corridor in the District, and possibly several others.

In addition to the two tornadoes it has confirmed, the Weather Service is assessing damage near the Tidal Basin to determine whether a tornado, in fact, occurred. And it also said it is surveying an area of damage near Culpeper, Va.

4:40 p.m. update: After conducting a damage survey, the National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched down in South Arlington, the Tidal Basin and the H Street Corridor. It said the tornado caused "sporadic damage" on 4.5-mile track beginning near Army-Navy Country Club and ending at St. Aloysius Church at North Capitol Street and I St., which endured roof damage.

The Weather Service rated the tornado EF-0, the lowest level on its 0-5 scale for intensity. It estimated its peak winds at 60-70 mph, with a maximum width of 25-50 yards. (Washington Post)

A Palm Sunday Message

A Palm Sunday Message:

From Jon and Jolene Hamill; Lamplighter Ministries

"How unexpected that My presence would come riding in to town on this Sunday."

Jolene awoke to the following word from the Lord this morning for Washington DC. I can attest that God's tangible presence had filled our bedroom. Her words at first were jumbled, but she described to me how she was reminded of Jesus entering Jerusalem. The Lord also spoke to her to remember 216, a number He had conveyed to her through a dream a week ago in Rome.

Jolene then asked me to look up Palm Sunday. When does it occur? I reached for my iPhone and searched for the answer.

TODAY, I replied. It only figures . . .

DC-Whirlwinds, Rainbows on Day of Decision

The past few days in our nation's Capitol have been quite amazing. On Thursday, the 77th day of Trump's presidency, two key decisions redefined our nation and world. In the early afternoon, the US Senate employed the "nuclear option" to break a partisan filibuster and pave the way for the Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch, a man who interprets law according to the original intent of the Constitution and who believes the Constitution protects life even in the womb. Fifty four votes secured Gorsuch's confirmation Friday. He starts tomorrow.

Later Thursday evening, President Trump decided to strike a Syrian airbase that had been used by the Assad administration to launch the unimaginable, horrific sarin gas attacks against his own people. Like you, I have watched in horror over these past years as atrocity after atrocity traumatized the Syrian people and devastated this ancient land. Our Crown & Throne team resounded your tear-streaked prayers while on the border with Syria two weeks ago. Enough of the bloodshed. Enough is enough.

In both decisions-the Gorsuch confirmation and the decimation of the Syrian airbase-our stakes went into the ground. The scourge of unjust bloodshed must be met with redemptive justice.

I don't believe it was coincidence these pivotal decisions came on the 77th day of Trump's presidency in the year 5777. Or that God spoke about this being the year of the "crowned vav" or the "crowned sword." Where the Lord crowns the covenant commitment of His people with His glory and His government, establishing thrones of glory (Isaiah 22:23).

Further, I don't believe it was coincidence that on the 77th day of Trump's presidency in the year 5777, Washington DC was visited by three small tornadoes. I watched from our window as one tornado breathed in water from the Potomac between the Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorial. This whirlwind apparently touched down near the Pentagon then crossed over to the tidal basin in downtown Washington.

Showers later brought another amazing weather phenomenon. A double rainbow arced from the railroad tracks just across the Potomac to Reagan National Airport. From our vantage point, The US Capitol was right between the rainbows.

Rainbows, of course, represent the restoration of God's covenant favor. Whirlwinds can represent the restoration of God's glory.

And that's how the Lord set the stage for the visitation of His presence this Palm Sunday. Ichabod erased, glory replacing. Once again I believe we are bearing witness to history. I do not say this lightly. But I believe that as of Palm Sunday, the governmental glory of God is now here.

Remember 216

Let me close with this. When the Lord spoke to Jolene that His Presence was riding in, He then spoke to her to "remember 216." A week ago today, in Rome, He had spoken to her about "216." This was again in a dream. Like a treasure hunt, He was inviting her to discover scriptures with a reference of 216. Here's just a few-beginning with, if you can believe it, Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey. On what came to be known as Palm Sunday.

You can't make this up. Would you believe the subhead of this passage is "Jesus comes to Jerusalem as King!"

Matthew 21:6-10- "And the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them. And they brought the ass and the colt and put on them their clothes, and they set Him thereon.

And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; and others cut down branches from the trees and strewed them in the way. And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried out, saying, "Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He that cometh in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!" And when He had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, "Who is this?"

Classic Hymns:
LOVE DIVINE, ALL LOVES EXCELLING

"God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him." (1 John 4:16)

Lyrics

Love divine, all loves excelling, Joy of heaven to earth come down; Fix in us thy humble dwelling; All thy faithful mercies crown! Jesus, Thou art all compassion, Pure unbounded love Thou art; Visit us with Thy salvation; Enter every trembling heart.

Breathe, O breathe Thy loving Spirit, Into every troubled breast! Let us all in Thee inherit; Let us find that second rest. Take away our bent to sinning; Alpha and Omega be; End of faith, as its Beginning, Set our hearts at liberty.
Come, Almighty to deliver, Let us all Thy life receive; Suddenly return and never, Never more Thy temples leave. Thee we would be always blessing, Serve Thee as Thy hosts above, Pray and praise Thee without ceasing, Glory in Thy perfect love.
Finish, then, Thy new creation; Pure and spotless let us be. Let us see Thy great salvation Perfectly restored in Thee; Changed from glory into glory, Till in heaven we take our place, Till we cast our crowns before Thee, Lost in wonder, love, and praise.

About the hymn:

In 1961, during the Manchester, England, crusade . . . just as the meetings were about to start, Billy Graham became quite seriously ill . . . Billy had been scheduled to speak to the ministers of London just before the crusade opened. You can imagine my feelings when he sent word that I should represent him and speak at that meeting. The British pastors are themselves thorough scholars and often brilliant preachers. And they were expecting to hear Billy Graham, not me!

At the beginning of that meeting in Westminster's Central Hall, the ministers joined in singing this great hymn of Charles Wesley. Most of these British clergymen were also well acquainted with hymn texts and hymn tunes, and they sang gloriously. Accompanied by the grand piano and the great pipe organ and using the Welsh tune "Blaenwern," these familiar words lifted our hearts in praise and prayer to God. I felt God's strength evident through the singing; He blessed our meeting together despite my fears and their disappointment.

Incredible Comet Tail!

INCREDIBLE COMET TAIL: More than 180 million km from Earth, something is happening to Comet PanSTARRS (C/2015 ER61). On April 4th and 5th, the comet brightened more than 6-fold, from magnitude +8.5 to +6.5, suddenly reaching the verge of naked-eye visibility despite its great distance from our planet. Now amateur astronomers are photographing an incredible tail. Gerald Rhemann sends this picture from his private observatory in Farm Tivoli, Namibia:

"The comet's tail is about 2.5 degrees long," says Rhemann.

That means it spans more than 8 million km. For comparison, the entire sun is 1.4 million km wide; you could wrap the comet's tail around the sun's equator twice. Another way of putting it: The distance from Earth to the Moon is only 5% of the length of the gaseous lane behind Comet PanSTARRS.

The comet's outburst is probably caused by a fresh vein of icy material in the comet's nucleus exposing itself to solar radiation. Furiously vaporizing, the comet's core is spewing jets of dust and gas into space--a tail-building process that should intensify as the comet approaches the sun between now and early May.

The comet's closest approach to Earth will be 176 million km (1.18 AU) on April 19th. Even at that distance, the comet might be a beautiful sight in backyard telescopes if current trends continue. Stay tuned! (SpaceWeather.com)

The Good News Corner

Homeschooling now booming - in Russia!

"Homeschooling in Russia has gained recognition from both the media and society in general," said Mike Donnelly, the director of global outreach for the Home School Legal Defense Association. "Part of that stems from its growth so far."

Donnelly, who recently attended a homeschool conference in St. Petersburg, said Russian supporters of homeschooling expressed "genuine optimism for the future" and "confidence in their plans to achieve substantial growth."

His organization, the world's premiere legal defender of homeschooling, has battled over the rights of parents to teach their children, often an integral part of international agreements and treaties.

And while major disputes have raged in Germany, Sweden and the United States in recent years, in Russia the homeschool movement has been maturing, he reported. (Read more)
