Election Results:

Republicans Take Georgia and South Carolina, Making A Total of Four Special Election Wins in All

For all the results we see below, we offer this prayer:

- Father, we pray these elections will provide momentum for passing President Trump's legislative priorities - replacement of Obamacare, overhaul of our tax system, and funding infrastructure.

- I think of God, and I moan, overwhelmed with longing for his help. (Psalm 77:3)

1. Republicans Sweep All Four of Their Special Elections - CNS News

"High-Stakes Referendum on Trump Takes Shape in a Georgia Special Election," said the headline in The New York Times on June 18. "Republican Claims House Seat in Georgia," said the New York Times headline three days later.

The most expensive House race in history ended badly for Democrats and their politically inexperienced candidate, who no longer lived in the district he wanted to represent. Republican Karen Handel easily defeated Democrat Jon Ossoff in Tuesday's special election to replace Tom Price, who is now serving as Health and Human Services Secretary. (Read more)

2. Republicans Claim Early Victory In South Carolina Special Election - Daily Caller

Republican candidate Ralph Norman officially won the congressional special election to replace former South Carolina Rep. Mick Mulvaney Tuesday evening. President Donald Trump appointed Mulvaney to the position of Director of the Office of Management and Budget in December of 2016.

"Ralph Norman's victory tonight marks yet another success by Republicans building on our momentum from last November," Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in an official statement. "Now, more than ever, voters are ready for strong, conservative leadership in Washington and continue to make that clear by electing Republicans at all levels. I am confident that Ralph will be an outspoken voice for conservative values and an ally in advancing President Trump's pro-growth agenda that puts South Carolinians and all Americans first." 4. Republicans Win in Georgia, South Carolina: More Proof the Anti-Trump Message is Losing - CBN News

"Tonight's victory is for you and for every single citizen in the 6th district, it's for every single person with a dream ... And a special thanks to the President of the United States of America," Handel said to supporters. The battle to win the seat left vacant by Health and Human Services Secretary, Tom Price, smashed House race spending records. Democrats, including many from outside Georgia, along with Republicans, poured more than $50 million into the campaign. Attack ads flooded the airwaves of the Atlanta suburbs. Ossoff ran as a moderate, with some people saying he was trying to look like a Republican. Democrats saw an opening for a win in the district after Trump only won its support in the presidential election by 1.5 percent. "This is not the outcome many of us were hoping for. But this is the beginning of something much bigger than us," Ossoff told supporters. (Read more)

2. Plan for mixed-gender prayer at Western Wall sparks new friction - Israel Hayom

An Israel Hayom report Monday detailing a letter indicating that the Chief Rabbinate is digging in its heels against any compromise that would allow men and women to pray together at any part of the Western Wall has stirred up another wave of controversy.

The Women of the Wall group, which promotes women's prayer at the Western Wall, condemned the 13-page letter by Rabbi Rafael Frank, assistant to Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi David Lau, which mainly targeted them and their efforts.

"The rabbinate is trying to usurp sites that have never been used for prayer and belong to the Jewish people. The rabbinate, with its bullying behavior, is trying to distance women from their Jewishness, which makes it even more important to fight for women's access to the Western Wall and to religious services at the Wall," Women of the Wall said Monday.

3. Hamas: War with Israel unlikely, relations with Egypt improving - Israel Hayom

Hamas on Sunday played down speculation that the severe energy crisis in the Gaza Strip would lead to renewed hostilities with Israel. Hamas also said its relations with Egypt were improving.

"We in Hamas do not initiate wars and we do not expect one, this is our political assessment," Khalil al-Hayya, Hamas' deputy leader in the Gaza Strip, told reporters in Gaza.

"We do not expect war because we are not interested and the occupation also say they are not interested," he said, using the group's term for Israel.

4. Macron meets Jordan's king, condemns deadly Jerusalem attack - Jerusalem Post

French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed Jordan's King Abdullah in Paris on Monday.

Macron and King Abdullah discussed Israel and the Palestinian territories, and the French president condemned an attack on Friday by three Palestinians who killed an Israeli policewoman as well as "continuing settlement expansion."

On Saturday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for the Palestinian Authority as well as the whole world to publicly speak out against Friday night's terror attack that resulted in the death of 23-year-old Border Police officer Hadas Malka.

5. "Three Great Faiths of Our Forefather Abraham Must Come Together to Make World Better Place" - Breaking Israel News

In an unprecedented partnership to build bridges between the three Abrahamic religions, on Monday the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ) began delivering food packages to 1,500 needy local Moroccan Muslim families in Marrakech. The special Ramadan initiative will continue in Casablanca and Rabat through the end of the holiday on June 21.

The IFCJ, supported by tens of millions of Christians worldwide, officially launched the food aid initiative in partnership with Jeunesse Chabad Maroc and the Mimouna Association, a Muslim student organization dedicated to preserving Moroccan Jewish heritage. The food aid kickoff also included an interfaith dinner at the Slat al Azama Synagogue in the Jewish Quarter (Mellah), in Marrakech, with the IFCJ's senior vice president, Yael Eckstein.

The interfaith food initiative is aimed at helping poor Moroccans celebrate the feast of Eid al-Fitr, which culminates Ramadan from June 25 to 28.

6. "Invisible" First Temple Inscription Discovered on Pottery After 50 Years of Display - Breaking Israel News

An ancient text thought to have been erased by the sands of time has been brought back to life by researchers at Tel Aviv University.

Using advanced imaging technology, a multi-disciplinary team managed to reveal a hitherto invisible inscription on the back of a pottery shard that has been on display at The Israel Museum for more than 50 years.

The ink-inscribed shard was found in 1965 at Tel Arad, an ancient desert fortress located near the modern city of Arad. The site served as a military outpost on the southern border of the kingdom of Judah and was populated by 20 to 30 soldiers. Most of the ostrace, including the latest artifact, date to around 600 BCE, shortly before the kingdom of Judah's destruction in 586 BCE by the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar II.

The Daily Brief

Please note:
Every prayer below is presented to our Lord in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.

1. Terror attack at Michigan airport - Daily Mail UK

The man who yelled Allahu Akbar' as he stabbed a police officer at a Michigan airport on Wednesday has been identified as Amor Ftouhi, an approximately 50-year-old Canadian man who is originally from Tunisia. Ftouhi repeatedly stabbed Lt. Jeff Neville from behind at Bishop airport near Flint leaving him in serious but stable condition. The attacker was tackled to the ground by fellow police officers.

This afternoon the FBI confirmed it is treating the episode as a terror attack and said Ftouhi also yelled about Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan while he carried out his attack. The agency said he has 'a hatred of the US' and traveled to the US from Canada where he apparently worked as an insurance agent. Ftouhi is being charged with violence at an international airport, which carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison. (Read more)

- Father, we pray for the complete healing and restoration of Officer Neville. Give him and his family Your peace this evening. We pray our nation will no longer pretend Islam is not at the root of terrorism in our nation and around the world. Give our leaders wisdom and the fortitude to do what is right to keep our people safe.

- For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right. (Psalm 84:11)

2. Tropical Storm Cindy to flood Texas to Florida coast - Accuweather

As Tropical Storm Cindy approaches the northwest Gulf of Mexico coast, the risk of flooding, severe thunderstorms and rip currents will increase over the Deep South. After little movement on Tuesday, Cindy has begun tracking to the northwest.

Strong winds aloft are shearing the storm. The winds are causing the swath of heaviest rainfall to focus on the northeastern side of the storm. A gradual turn to the north is expected Wednesday night," according to AccuWeather Hurricane Expert Dan Kottlowski. "Landfall near the border of Texas and Louisiana is likely early Thursday."

- Father, we pray strong winds will continue to reduce the severity of this storm. We pray there will be no destruction, only much needed rain to the Southeast.

- The Lord will send rain at the proper time from his rich treasury in the heavens and will bless all the work you do. (Deuteronomy 28:12a)

3. Rep. Steve Scalise's condition upgraded to fair one week after shooting - LA Times

The Republican congressman shot last week at a baseball practice is making good progress and has been upgraded to fair condition.

MedStar Washington Hospital Center issued a statement on Wednesday saying Rep. Steve Scalise, 51, of Louisiana is "beginning an extended period of healing and rehabilitation."

Scalise has undergone several surgeries since he was shot last week. Doctors said he had arrived at the hospital June 14 at imminent risk of death. (Read more)

- Father, even now . . . one week later . . . we refuse to believe the report of his doctors, and we choose instead to believe THE REPORT OF THE LORD.

- "It is written: He shall not die, but he will live, and declare the works of the Lord." (Psalm 118:17)

4. ObamaCare repeal bill on fast track in Senate; Ryan says tax reform next - Fox News

Republican congressional leaders put their two major legislative priorities on a fast track Tuesday -- aiming for a Senate vote to overhaul ObamaCare as early as next week and a vote on tax reform by year's end. "We are going to cut taxes," House Speaker Paul Ryan said in a major tax reform speech in Washington. "We are going to get this done in 2017."

Hours later, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said on Capitol Hill he expects to have a draft by Thursday of Senate Republicans' health care bill and a decisive floor vote by next week. The vote could be close. The House last month passed its legislation to overhaul ObamaCare. A group of about 13 Republican senators has since been working behind closed doors on a Senate version, eager to give President Trump and the entire party a major legislative win this year. (Read more)

- Father, we agree with these words from Speaker Ryan: "We are going to get this done in 2017." Help the Republican leadership overcome opposition from the left as they work to move these bills through Congress.

- Wise words bring many benefits, and hard work brings rewards. (Proverbs 12:14)

5. Jeh Johnson Testifies: Russians Did Not Alter Ballot Counts - CNSNews.com

Former Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson told the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Wednesday that the Russian government did not alter ballots, ballots counts, or the reporting of votes in last November's U.S. presidential election.

In his written testimony Johnson said, "To my current knowledge, the Russian government did not through any cyber intrusion alter ballots, ballot counts or reporting of election results. I am not in a position to know whether the successful Russian government-directed hacks of the DNC and elsewhere did in fact alter public opinion and thereby alter the outcome of the presidential election." (Read more)

- Father, we offer praise that this former official of the Obama administration has testified under oath, speaking truth in the midst of this unfounded controversy. May he receive a blessing as a result.

- These are the things which you should do: speak the truth to one another; judge with truth and judgment for peace in your gates. (Zech. 8:16)

6. Study supports Trump: 5.7 million noncitizens may have cast illegal votes - Washington Times

A research group in New Jersey has taken a fresh look at postelection polling data and concluded that the number of noncitizens voting illegally in U.S. elections is likely far greater than previous estimates. As many as 5.7 million noncitizens may have voted in the 2008 election, which put Barack Obama in the White House.

The research organization Just Facts, a widely cited, independent think tank led by self-described conservatives and libertarians, revealed its number-crunching in a report on national immigration. Just Facts President James D. Agresti and his team looked at data from an extensive Harvard/YouGov study that every two years questions a sample size of tens of thousands of voters. Some acknowledge they are noncitizens and are thus ineligible to vote. Just Facts' conclusions confront both sides in the illegal voting debate: those who say it happens a lot and those who say the problem nonexistent. (Read more)

- Father, we pray for integrity throughout our voting system. Help us identify and remove ineligible voters from the rolls while also investigating and prosecuting those who are corrupting the system.

- The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity. (Proverbs 11:3)

7. Judicial Watch: Susan Rice's Unmasking Documents of Trump Team Now Sealed at Obama Library - CNS News

Judicial Watch announced on June 19 that the National Security Council has revealed that documents regarding the unmasking by President Barack Obama's National Security Advisor Susan Rice of "the identities of any U.S. citizens associated with the Trump presidential campaign or transition team" have been removed to the Obama Library.

Such documents, by law, cannot be released to the public for at least five years, and after that the library may still erect hurdles to access them. In effect, documents reportedly related to Congress' investigation of Russia collusion in the 2016 election are now sealed, including materials gathered by the Obama administration in 2015-16 and perhaps earlier. (Read more)

- Father, we pray for action by the Federal Court and/or Congress to release these records and resolve this controversy.

- Their malice may be concealed by deception, but their wickedness will be exposed in the assembly. (Proverbs 26:26)

8. Delaware Legalizes Abortion through all Nine Months - Christian Headlines

Delaware gave pro-abortion advocates a rare but big win last week when Gov. John Carney signed a bill making it legal to kill unborn babies through all nine months of pregnancy. Proponents of the bill drafted it out of fear the Supreme Court might someday overturn the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that legalized abortion nationwide.

"This is a reaction from the abortion lobby to President Trump winning, and Neil Gorsuch's confirmation, and the anticipation of President Trump appointing additional Supreme Court justices," Susan B. Anthony List spokeswoman Mallory Quigley told me. The pro-life group spent nearly $100,000 to run radio ads and digital campaigns, send mail, and call constituents to encourage opposition to the bill.

While many states, including Delaware, have adopted more protections for unborn babies, the new law does away with all restrictions on abortion-including an existing parental consent law for minors and a 24-hour waiting period-until viability. The law defines viability as a likelihood to survive outside the womb without "extraordinary medical measures" and allows abortion past that point if an abortionist thinks the mother's life or health is in danger. (Read more)

- Father, we repent for this unspeakable tragedy in Delaware, and pray Your Spirit would soften the hearts of the people toward the unborn.

- Don't be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. (Proverbs 3:7)

9. Illinois careens into financial meltdown - and not even the lottery is safe - Fox News

Illinois is grappling with a full-fledged financial crisis and not even the lottery is safe - with Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner warning the state is entering "banana republic" territory. Facing billions in unpaid bills and pension obligations, the state is hitting a cash crunch that is rare even by Illinois standards.

A top financial official just warned 100 percent of the state's monthly revenue will be eaten up by court-ordered payments. Rauner is calling a special session of the Democrat-led General Assembly in a bid to pass what he hopes will be the first full budget package in almost three years. Reports have suggested the state could be the first to attempt to declare Chapter 9 bankruptcy -- but under the law, that's impossible unless Congress gets involved. (Read more)

- Father, we pray the leaders who have caused this crisis in Illinois will repent and make the needed reforms. Bless Governor Rauner with the wisdom he needs to lead his state back to solvency.

- Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the snare of the fowler. (Proverbs 6:5)

10. Phoenix nears 120 degrees as Southwest sees worst heat wave in years - Chicago Tribune

The first day of summer brought some of the worst heat the Southwest U.S. has seen in years, forcing flights to be canceled, straining the power grid and making life miserable for workers toiling in temperatures that reached 120 degrees or higher in some desert cities.

Arizona, Nevada and California saw dramatic temperatures Tuesday as researchers say deadly heat waves like this one were going to grow more frequent. Meteorologists in Phoenix said Tuesday evening the temperature topped out at 119 degrees - one that has been matched or surpassed only four other times. The forecast called for a high of 120 degrees in Phoenix, which it hasn't seen in more than two decades. Death Valley, Calif., reached 125 and Palm Springs hit 121, still a degree lower than the same day last year. (Read more)

- Father, we pray for the people of the Southwest to long for You and seek You, just as their parched land thirsts for rain and relief from the heat. We pray for protection of all living things and for You to bring cooler weather and rain in answer to prayer.

- I spread out my hands to you; I thirst for you like a parched land. (Psalm 143:6)

11. Belgium Terrorist Shouted 'Allahu Akbar' While Trying to Detonate Nail Bomb - CBN News

Belgium tightened security even more on Wednesday to counter fears that lone attackers could strike anywhere and at any time, a day after a failed bombing by a man shouting "Allahu akbar" at a Brussels train station put the nation on edge. A soldier killed the attacker, who had tried to set off a powerful nail bomb that could have led to fatalities among the two dozen or so travelers checking train times on a public display board at Brussels Central Station on Tuesday, officials said.

Similar attacks by lone assailants causing maximum mayhem but few victims have also happened in London and Paris in the past couple of days, putting European capitals on alert on the eve of the busy summer tourist season. The Brussels attacker was a 36-year-old Moroccan national not known to authorities for being involved in terror activities, federal magistrate Eric Van der Sypt told reporters. He declined to say if the man had a criminal record. (Read more)

- Father, thank You for Your protection. We pray the people of Belgium, especially the people near the attempted bombing, would be confronted with their mortality, repent and turn their hearts to You.

- The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. (2 Peter 3:9)

12. ALERT! Thousands of Witches Will Gather Tonight to Curse Trump. Is Satanism Behind It? - Breaking Israel News

At the stroke of midnight on Wednesday, some 13,000 people will connect via internet in yet another attempt to cast a curse on President Donald Trump, this time on the summer solstice. Though spell-casting may seem too absurd to be taken seriously, a rabbinic authority maintains that the 'witches' are tapping into Satanism, a disturbing theology making a strong comeback today in the guise of atheism.

The witches are a motley collection with a mixed bag of rituals and beliefs, incorporating the arcane and the religious. The solstice curse calls for colored candles, Tarot cards, and chanting, but also allows for using Cheetos and religious amulets. As irreverent as this may seem, Rabbi Daniel Asore, who investigates the threat Satanism poses today as a member of the nascent Sanhedrin, believes the connection between witchcraft and politics is more relevant - and dangerous - than ever.

"Witchcraft, or its real name, Satanism, is explicitly a power struggle, which is why it is so readily dragged into politics. Satanism, in its essence, pits the adversary against God," Rabbi Asore explained to Breaking Israel News. "Though this power struggle has been brewing all through history, today, when we are so close to Moshiach (Messiah), the role it is playing in politics could not be more clear.

"The politicians who believe that man can control all aspects of the world are coming from a belief system based in Satanism, whether knowingly or not." (Read more)

> > > Editor's comment: There is NO power greater on earth than that of the cleansing Blood of our Messiah. Please receive the Cup of Communion tonight before going to bed, or at midnight, and thank God for His unspeakable gift to men!

- "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." (Luke 23:34)

The weaponization of the left's visceral speech

The vulgar and hate-filled rhetoric of the left has resulted in violence across the country, most notably the recent Bernie Sanders supporter James Hodgkinson assassination attempt on Republican Congressmen. When we consider the tone of the news media, leftist entertainers and politicians, and then match that rhetoric with the actions of protestors and organized groups such as Moveon.org, the ex-"president's" organizations Organizing for America (his 2012 campaign organization) and Organizing For Action (his 2008 campaign organization), and Islamic groups, we can conclude they have all teamed up to oppose, obstruct, resist the government-using hate speech, fake news, and lies to foment rebellion and coup.

For example, Bernie Sanders said on June 10th, three days before the shooting, "Today in the White House we have perhaps the worst and most dangerous president in the history or our country and we also have not to be forgotten extreme right-wing leadership in the US House and the US Senate." Sanders was parroted by Congressional shooter James Hodgkinson two days later at the garage where he was having his tires checked. AP reported Del Ray Service Center worker Crist Dauberman describing the exchange: "This man was just so passionate and hateful toward (President Donald) Trump, recounting Hodgkinson's profanity-laden tirade. Among other things, Hodgkinson said Trump had screwed up the country "more than anyone in the history of this country.""

Sanders can issue an apology all he wants, and he can try to distance himself from Hodgkinson's actions, but doesn't the Hodgkinson situation fit the very definition that the liberals use for hate speech? Hate speech is defined as "spoken words that are offensive, insulting, and/or threatening to an individual or group based on a particular attribute of that person or persons being targeted." Hate crimes are those where an illegal act is committed against an individual or group based on a particular attribute of that person or group. The consideration in the current atmosphere is whether the vulgar visceral rhetoric of the left against Republicans or Trump supporters is causing people like Hodgkinson to take violent action.

Professor of Media Arts at the Art Institute of Washington, Dr. John Griffin, tweeted of Republican Congressmen, "They should be lined up and shot." This Democrat Socialist Club of the University of Georgia responded by tweeting, "This is absolutely outrageous! House Republicans should not be shot! They should be guillotined." When called out on it, the professor apologized and the Socialists in Georgia said it was a joke. But it's no joke to people like Hodgkinson. The visceral words of the left are then weaponized, whether or not they are considered hate speech. Jesus said in Matthew 15:11, "Not that which goes into the mouth defiles a man; but that which comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man." We should point out to others that irrespective of their politics, this hateful speech is inappropriate, offensive, and dangerous.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Americans 4 Communists 0

In the four special elections to replace congressmen appointed to positions in President Donald Trump's administration, the communist-progressive-inspired Democratic Party has lost all four races. The last race in Georgia's 6th District was the most hotly contested and nationally renown. Democrats spent some $24 million dollars to elect a 30-year-old "progressive" who didn't live in the district, had a live-in girlfriend, and had absolutely no experience at much of anything, in what became the most expensive congressional race in America's history. The rhetoric spewing from his campaign reflected that of the national "resistance" movement of the Democratic Party. He lost by a 51.9-48.1% margin.

The communist-progressive-inspired Democratic Party has, in fact, lost every special election this season-Georgia by 3 points; South Carolina by four points; Kansas by seven points; and Montana by six points. In Georgia, the Democrat candidate raised some 95% of his $24 million dollars (roughly $192 per vote) from outside of his district with well over $8 million coming from the San Francisco Bay area. The Democratic Party, in its desperation to show America that the "resist" movement is viable, is willing to allow the optics of California and New York to buy influence in states that voted Republican in the last election. It's all about power, control, and choking down self-determination-very non-democratic.

The news media is in a quandary. It, too, invested a lot of public capital in promoting vehemently anti-Trump and pro-"resistance" Democratic Party candidates. Even before the Georgia election was officially called, the fake news spin doctors at CNN were trying to claim some small victory: "The losses aren't all doom and gloom for Democrats. The party got closer than it has in decades to wining some of the four seats-a sign they've closed their gaps with Republicans in both suburban and rural areas and in 2018 will have a broad playing field with dozens of more competitive districts." Democratic strategists, however, are questioning that their messaging reached too narrow of a voting demographic.

The narrow demographic they are alluding to are those vulgar, visceral, violent-prone radical leftists who are seeking to obstruct and overthrow the government. There are, frankly, not enough of them to win elections-even as motivated as they are. This is a signal to the rest of America. Not all Democrats are violent, hate-filled radicals. Most are law-abiding citizens, especially in the south and Midwest, whose families traditionally have been Democrats and just don't know any other way. Many are repulsed by the hate-filled rhetoric of the "resistance." Christian Americans have an opportunity to help change the rhetoric of hate by acting as Ephesians 6:6 says, "Not with eye-service, as men-pleasers; but as the servants of Christ; doing the will of God from the heart." Let's speak about decency and civility to all who will hear.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Classic Hymns:

I LOVE TO TELL THE STORY

"Let me tell you what He has done for me." (Psalm 66:16)

Lyrics
I love to tell the story of unseen things above, Of Jesus and His glory, of Jesus and His love. I love to tell the story, because I know 'tis true; It satisfies my longings as nothing else can do.

Refrain

I love to tell the story, 'twill be my theme in glory, To tell the old, old story of Jesus and His love.

I love to tell the story; more wonderful it seems Than all the golden fancies of all our golden dreams. I love to tell the story, it did so much for me; And that is just the reason I tell it now to thee.

Refrain

I love to tell the story; 'tis pleasant to repeat What seems, each time I tell it, more wonderfully sweet. I love to tell the story, for some have never heard The message of salvation from God's own holy Word.

Refrain

I love to tell the story, for those who know it best Seem hungering and thirsting to hear it like the rest. And when, in scenes of glory, I sing the new, new song, 'Twill be the old, old story that I have loved so long.

Refrain

Decades-old camera reveals forgotten images of Mount St. Helens eruption

A decades-old camera found at a Portland, Ore., Goodwill store contained film with haunting images of the deadly 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens.

Photographer Kati Dimoff told Fox News that she always checks the Goodwill store on Grand Ave. for film cameras with exposed but undeveloped rolls of film. On May 26, she bought an Argus C2 camera, likely manufactured around 1938, which contained a damaged roll of Kodachrome slide film. The process for developing Kodachrome, a color slide film, has been discontinued, so Dimoff took the film to photo specialist Blue Moon camera and Machine in Portland, which developed the prints in black and white.

"When I picked up the prints on Monday, June 12th, there was a note on the package that said 'is this from the Mt. St. Helens eruption'?" she explained, in a statement emailed to Fox News. "Some of the shots showed Mt. St. Helens way off in the distance with just the little puffs of ash from the beginning of the eruption, with the Longview Bridge in view, so it must have been shot from just off highway 30."
Dimoff noted that two of the shots showed a larger ash cloud with John Gumm Elementary School in St. Helens, Oregon, in the foreground.

Another image shows a family in a backyard. When the photo was published in the Oregonian, Mel Purvis contacted the newspaper to explain that he is in the picture with his wife Karen, son Tristan and grandmother Faye. Purvis said that the camera had belonged to Faye, so Dimoff will be mailing the camera, as well as the negatives and prints to him.

The deadly volcanic eruption at Mount St. Helens occurred on May 18 1980, blasting more than 1,300 feet off the top of the volcano and raining volcanic ash for miles around. Some 57 people lost their lives in the aftermath of the eruption. (Fox News) Read more.

'Hero' Says It Was a "God Thing" That Enabled Him to Capture 2 of America's Most Wanted

(Christiana, TN)-[Charisma News] Media and officers alike labeled Patrick Hale a hero after he succeeded in capturing two inmates on the run.

For Hale, though, it wasn't an act of bravery as much as it was one of faith.

"Hearing that you're a hero for just simply calling 911 and explaining what happened and just backing up even though we did have guns with us, we never had to use them and that to me is more than a God thing," Hale says.

Donnie Rowe and Ricky Dubose were on the run after killing a Georgia prison guard during their escape.

When Tennessee's Hale was alerted the two escaped inmates were near his home, he loaded his guns and began to pray.

"I prayed like I never prayed before," Hale says.

A Fox affiliate describes what happened next:

Forced with choosing between a panic room in his house or trying to get away, Hale and his family decided to make a run for it. They got in his car. As they backed up, he saw that the men had gotten closer.

"They began to take off their shirts and start waving at us as if to slow us down," he said.
