A Letter from a Friend

Sunday, December 10, 2017

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." (I Corinthians 13:13)

Week Two: Advent . . . PEACE

Sharing a Blessing with You

Sharing a Blessing with You
Dear Friends, Over these many past years, many of you have taken the time to send messages of encouragement to us, either online or via the regular mail, which have always greatly strengthened our hearts.
We appreciate each and every one of those special messages . . . thank you!
Today, we want to share a very special message of encouragement, below, from a friend who has been with us since our beginnings . . . Ruth Mizell.

As you will read, this letter was written to our Board of Directors, who recently met for our Annual Meeting. When we read her letter at the meeting, Ruth's words were a great encouragement to us. She has since very kindly allowed us to share her thoughts with all of you: our entire "CHPP family."

May you, too, be blessed, encouraged and strengthened as you read this message. And at the end of Ruth's letter, we want to give you an opportunity, at the end of this year, to once again sow into this ministry with your own tithes and offerings. We cherish and deeply appreciate every gift we receive here . . . and the time has come to ask for your help, once again.
In His Grace and for His Glory,

Sara Ballenger, Founder and President

Ruth's Message

A Letter from a Friend: Ruth Mizell

Subject: Letter to CHPP Board December 2017

Dear CHPP Board:

I'm writing today to let you know just how much this ministry means to me. When I came to Washington in 1984 I spent much time alone in prayer for this nation. But, in 1994, when our Lord birthed your ministry and the Senate Chaplain set CHPP in place, I felt like Anna in the temple (Luke 2) Truly what God did and is doing in and through this ministry is remarkable.

Decade after decade Sara continues to inform a vast group of Holy intercessors about the crucial issues of our time. In fact she's leading an intercessory army. She and those she selects instruct and sharpen the prayer skills of many. Also the times in which we live are profoundly different as a result of these prayers. To God be the glory!

I encourage you as a board to continue this great work. Your nation needs you. This is a high and Holy calling. May God bless all your efforts!

With love and prayers,

Ruth Mizell

Thank you, Ruth Mizell!

Thank you, Ruth Mizell!

Again, we trust the Ruth's words have blessed you as they did us, early this month. Indeed, when our Board completed its work, and sat back and examined the tremendous growth of this ministry -- even during this past year -- we simply said, together: "Look what the LORD has done!"

Also, for those of you who may not yet heard about Ruth Mizell, she is truly a legend here on Capitol Hill. At the age of 95 years young, over the years, Ruth has continually given her heart to seeing Christ raised up on the Hill, and to enabling many ministry teams to enter into strategic works of intercession, on site, on the Hill.

She is affectionately known here as "the angel on the Hill!"

So, Ruth, from all of us here who know you and who love you . . . once again . . . thank you for your own service to the King in Washington, D.C. and across our land. AMEN!

How You Can Help!

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners is a 501 (c) 3, tax-exempt nonprofit ministry, depending solely on the gifts of our friends to maintain our work.

In addition to offering prayer on-site for Congress, every day they are in session, and to publishing the Daily Brief, CHPP is also engaged in a number of other activities which remain largely "under the radar." Please know that, in supporting our work, you are also supporting those initiatives, too.
In addition, please note that CHPP offers a monthly tithe of our own income to others with whom we stand in unity, so by blessing our work . . . you will be blessing many others, too!

As a partner in prayer for the nation (and for Israel), if you feel our Lord prompting you to help support our work, you may do so by sending an offering by mail, or online.

To send an offering by mail, please make your check payable to: CHPP. Our mailing address is:

If you prefer, you may also donate online by going here.

And now . . . may "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit."
(Philippians 4:23)

AMEN!
